RAIDERS @ BRONCOS - Game Thread (1 Viewer)

Is this guy Lechler the best ever at the position?
Not even in the Raiders franchise. But he's getting close.
I was too young to watch much of Guy. But it's hard for me to believe he was better than this.
Really Tim? I had you pegged for late30s/early 40s...guess not.
Actually I'm 46, but I didn't watch much football as either a kid or a teenager and rarely watched the Raiders.

Allow me to help those just tuning in who want to know what has happened...

What did I miss?

McFadden is punishing the Den D when he finishes every run. I think it's going to be a long 2nd half for Den.

Strat-O-Matic and Avalon Hill was the early makings of my FF World.

I'm with Tim on this one. Lechler was the first punter in NFL history to have a net average over 40 yards in a season. And he's done it quite a few times now.
Grove, were you watching when Guy was playing? You didn't have to be a Raider fan to know how good this guy was.

DHB could have caught that ball in bounds...scratch that...many other NFL WRs could have made that catch.
Easy to pile on DHB all the time. The throw led him out of bounds.
:goodposting: there isn't a WR alive that catches that ball in bounds.
Maybe I need to see it a few more times, but I'm pretty sure the ball would have landed in bounds if nobody was there. The ball was definitely a touch underthrown. But that's an easy adjustment for a WR to make. All he had to do was chop his steps just a touch as it comes down and the ball would have landed in his hands right over his shoulder. But instead of chopping his steps or slowing slightly before the ball got there, he kept going full speed and then had to do a weird hop in order to slow himself immediately to make the adjustment. When he did that, he hopped sideways too and ended up out of bounds. Receivers make that adjustment all the time. It's not necessarily easy, but it's done quite a bit. He managed to make it look even more awkward and difficult than it needed to be.

You need to watch it again.

No, he's before my time. But I think he's a guy whose legend is bigger than his actual performance. He was a great punter, but I think he's more myth than reality at this point.

Does anyone think either of these teams care about this game?

At half time maybe they should just let them have a giant melee and get this sorted out. And afterwords maybe they can attach dog collars that will shock them if they false start...

This is what your kids are going to say about Michael Jordan.Grove, were you watching when Guy was playing? You didn't have to be a Raider fan to know how good this guy was.
