RAIDERS @ BRONCOS - Game Thread (2 Viewers)

Wow, so predictable. Lock onto the TE all day every day. Mix in a little falling backwards, throw off your back foot and you have the Raiders inside the 10 strategy.

Grove, were you watching when Guy was playing? You didn't have to be a Raider fan to know how good this guy was.
No, he's before my time. But I think he's a guy whose legend is bigger than his actual performance. He was a great punter, but I think he's more myth than reality at this point.
LOL @ "myth"...
If a tree falls in the forrest, and you weren't born yet, did it make a sound?

Not really. He had to come out because of an awful facemasking penalty that almost decapitated him. He's back in now though.

Is this guy Lechler the best ever at the position?
Not even in the Raiders franchise. But he's getting close.
I was too young to watch much of Guy. But it's hard for me to believe he was better than this.
I'm with Tim on this one. Lechler was the first punter in NFL history to have a net average over 40 yards in a season. And he's done it quite a few times now.

I know the Army had a plan to have him kick warheads into Russia if we went to war.

There's all sorts of ridiculous claims about his hangtime and such that just simply aren't even possible. I'm sure he was better than all of the punters of his time. There's a good chance he's still one of the best ever. But that doesn't mean he could out punt Lechler. I believe Lechler has the records for longest gross and net punt average for a season. And it blows away Guy.

i remember seeing Pennington calling a game this weekend but i couldn't hear it. anyone catch it? how was he?

How does ESPN expect us to take their "QBR" stat seriously after letting us see how much of a moron Trent Dilfer is? When a huge part of your marketing for a stat is that Dilfer helped come up with the formulation, it's not much of a positive.

He was good Joffer. Certainly will get better with more calls but he has intelligent things to say. I think he might have a nice future in it. I would have to dial up the NFL Rewind to get the game he called, they blur after a while.

Ray Guy had regular 6.5 second hang times. He'd aim the football like he was throwing a dart. He could dial it in give or take 3 yards. He was a weapon that almost wasn't fair, and he made D coordinators pull out their hair.

I have to be honest...got Janikowski going tonight...incredible. He's a stud...put him on Indy or NE the last 10 years he would have been in the Pro Bowl every year.
