Per Bernie Miklasz of St. Louis Post Dispatch.

I don't know anything about him, would appreciate any info.

He runs hard and hates to go down. Not much wiggle. Was a favorite of Rex's this summer, especially after a great special teams tackle that caused a fumble.

Washington is garbage. I watched him his entire career at USC and he was one of the most unimpressive backs I've ever seen starting for a major power. He's plodding and can't cut. He's a power back but doesn't run with authority. He averaged less than 5 ypc at USC behind an elite offensive line - the same offensive line that paved the way for Reggie Bush and Lendale White to score 40 TDs and both average over 6.5 ypc.

With all the 5-star RBs Carroll recruited, I never understood why Washington saw the field.

This absolutely may be the case, but if not for McKnight and his 4th round status, Washington would be on the Jets regular roster right now. STL is desperate for RB talent and really shot themselves in the foot when they should have tried to get a successor to Jackson THIS year and now they are paying the price. There are many marginal RBs who put up good numbers for teams over the last decade, just because said teams had no alternatives and Washington "could" be one of those guys.

Come on now, tell us how you REALLY feel. :stirspot:

isn't darby already in place behind sjax?
I think that's the main reason they signed Washington. Yes, Darby did OK and ran for a TD, but he's been there a long time and has never really distinguished himself. At least Washington gives them another option if Jackson misses a few games.

He was talked about on Hard Knocks a few times. If I remember correctly, the only time he did anything to impress the coaches was on special teams.

I take this as confirmation that Jackson is out a couple of weeks with his groin injury. Did the Rams have anyone else go on IR to open a roster spot?

That is not necessarily the case. There is the possibility that he misses time, but this could be an insurance/depth signing as Keith Toston also got banged up (shoulder) during the Washington game.
