A+
I thought that last one would get you going!A+
Thanks, dude. And everybody else, too.gruecd - best wishes this weekend! So you're our resident master of the mileage. Morning, nighttime, doubles ...you crank 'em out. But I believe your success this weekend will be due to the mind, not the miles. You're pushing a strong pace: your HM time will be within two minutes of your PR, and then you need to repeat it. You'll be getting into uncharted challenges here and need to be ready to withstand that level of pain and effort. Let me also say that you have talked a fair amount of pushing back the attempt to another city/another day if the weather wasn't ideal. You need to keep those "next time" thoughts at bay and go in with a 100% commitment to this being your race ...this being your moment of sub-3:00 glory ...this being your HTFU, no-holds-barred success. Fight for it. Make it happen. Then post more cowgirl pics.
Seriously. Now THAT is why I work out.
(By the way, every time I add another hot Facebook friend, I can't help but think of you bastards stalking them. And I mean "bastards" in the best sense possible.)Make us proud soldier! Thanks, dude. Ended up having a PR day. 32:41 good enough for 2nd in the 30-34M age group.Doing an 8k tomorrow...hoping to break 34 minutes.![]()
____________________________I got in a fantastic 10-miler this morning. It was supposed to be at something like LR pace, but I kept naturally drifting down to MP and it was feeling extremely easy, so I just went with it. It still felt super-easy even at the end. These 50-degree mid-morning temps are golden.

Find the link to our podium results spreadsheet in Sand's sig and add yours to the list!!!Heading out for a rare afternoon run as prep for the Chase. Thanks, I will take 70/50 any day and twice on Saturday.Speaking of twice on Saturday, I completed another double 30 minutes ago in 81 degrees, but with only 26% humidity. That made 7 miles total today.3 miles this evening in 28:031- 9:502- 9:143- 8:58I also broke in a new pair of shoes. They felt great but I expected them too, they are the exact model as my old ones. Bringing both pairs to Kentucky.for you folks coming to ky next weekend, it's currently about 45 degrees here with a low in the upper 30's tonight. of course by next weekend, it's supposed to be back in the 70/50 range but you never know with weather around here.

x pace. A 3 hour marathon is a 6:53/mile pace! Looking good at the halfway point!! Dang, that's fast. And, took a second off his overall pace between mile 7 and 13.1. Saw a FB post that he expected a tailwind in the 2nd 1/2.I'm catching the later service ...got an email - he passed the halfway point at about a 6:50x pace. A 3 hour marathon is a 6:53/mile pace! He should be crossing the finish line very, very soon! This is possibly a pinnacle moment in this thread...Grue is through mile 20 at a 6:50/mile pace! Only 10K to go.Go Grue Go!!!!!!!

I believe gruecd also mentioned some slight downhill over the final three miles (probably heading back to the lakefront). That's an interesting dimension to a distance event like this. 3 seconds x 20 miles then allows a 10 second/mile cushion over the final six.FWIW: he's given himself a full 1:00 cushion over these last 6 miles. 7:03's or less and we have a sub 3:00!!!!
