On tap for me this weekend, the Ochsner Ironman 70.3 in New Orleans. Has been my "A" race since October.
News is that due to high winds and thus, high chop, the swim is likely to be cancelled and the race turned into a duathlon

.
The bike has been shortened from 56 miles to 52 miles due to debris on the roads

(you're telling me that you can't find a 2 mile out and back somewhere on the bike course, to keep the race 56? That's just lazy, Mr. Race Director).
The run has been changed from a 1 loop course to a 2 loop course, to avoid the aforementioned debris. Don't care about this, as long as it's 13.1 miles.
All in all, I'm pretty bummed about the changes. I know that the race organizers can't control the weather, but you'd think that, after the past 3 races having their swim cancelled, the organizers would have a backup plan

. Oh, and also, there's going to be an airshow at transition/the finish line, expected to draw between 60,000 and 100,000 people. That's not going to cause a gigantic traffic jam at all, and be insanely unsafe for cyclists to try and get out of T1 and into T2. At least I'm hopping on a cruise ship after the race for a week's vacation

with the family.
