Did 11 miles this morning in what turned out to be more than I expected. I am working in Lafayette, IN, and found "trail" along the Wabash River. I'd done a 3 mile out & back and a 6 mile out and back and used Map My Run to find about the area I'd want to turn around for a 10-miler. What I didn't know was that in turned in to a gnarly single track trail at about 3 miles. It had everything, trees, sand, hills and some shear drops in to the river if you screwed up. I had a blast and only saw 1 other person the whole run. I hadn't planned on taking photos, but had the phone with me so I shot a few:

As a stated a few days ago, my stamina is great, but my legs are behind. But, I think I'll conservatively "go for it" in two weeks for the Detroit 1/2. I am not expecting a PB, but I don't want to dog it either.

I hate that.
Running 3:10 at Memphis should definitely be do-able.
This is basically the same workout I have scheduled tomorrow = Four miles at 7:26, with one mile warm-up and one mile cool-down. Running 5.2 followed by 7.8 at 7:40 would be most awesome. You are primed for a sub 3:30 marathon, followed by a fun-run in Boston!
Decided to go for a walk around the new neighborhood. GoogleMapped a route, and saw that it was 3.1mi, so I figgered what the heck and headed out. Nice to know there's already a 5k route that I can utilize. Tonight's time includes a 3-5min stop at KFC/A&W for some comfort food.
My family pretty much deserted me for a wedding reception in ND. I could have gone too, but was tired of being cooped up in a vehicle, not to mention the truck needed to be unloaded by tomorrow. I got it about 1/2-2/3 unloaded today, stuffing the garage pretty well full, and will have to finish it tomorrow, getting a storage unit. It's mostly like-sized boxes, so hopefully I'll get done in time to watch my Vikings kick the crap out of my wife's da Bears (which she'll likely miss cuz I don't think she'll make it back here in time lol).
Great to hear another 10k thread success!! You certainly had quite a bit in the tank, doing the last mile sub 7:00!!!
A better time, despite the crowds. Sweet! BTW, if you and your wife do the vow renewal thing during the Vegas race, I think you should wear your Martian race shirts, 'cause, you know, it would make 'em all wonder just a bit about you two.
I not sure we need another reason for folks to wonder about us, most already think we nuts doing the whole running thing together already. We are in for the wedding for sure, I think we are going running/formal. The bride will be wearing a white wicking top with complementing white running skirt & I'll be in a black tech top and, likley a bow-tie. Since you brought up the "ugly shirt" I saw the 2009 shirt at the expo Saturday. There is no arguing

Well, yes, I'm up for the challenge. I'll target 7:30/mile for my three legs (14.4 miles in total).
