Random peanut allergy question (1 Viewer)

If you cook Reece's peanut butter cookies in the oven, would it affect someone with peanut allergies?
Go......

Would or could? Like, if you baked a cookie and someone didn't react, is that a valid test? Or, like, could someone overly susceptible a serious allergic reaction be at elevated risk if they worked in a cookie bakery eight hours a day?

Seems like working in a place like that you'd end up touching surfaces that are contaminated.
Just wondering about the baking part. No touch, just the baking. One batch of cookies

Yes.

Some people can't sit next to someone at a baseball game eating peanuts (be careful with dog treats also)

Son is allergic, but he just can't eat or touch.

Someone (won't mention who) accidentally gave him Halloween m&m's from a vending machine.................turns out they were some of the first reeces pieces. Luckily we had a epi pen in the car.

In theory the antigens could aerosolize, but I think it’s extremely unlikely, even with a severe allergy.

That said, why chance it?

Ya I think we need more context here. Are you wondering if someone in the house could get a reaction from the air? Or did you cook something else for them in the oven at the same time?

If you're wondering if the oven needs to be thrown away or cleaned, absolutely not... they can eat out of the oven for sure at a later date at the very least.

Not much more context to give.
Can someone be in the area when these peanut butter cookies are baking......that is all. No other context.
Nothing will be touched by anyone or used, the person will never touch any items being used.
One batch of cookies.......

My daughter has a fairly severe peanut allergy, however we(rest of family) eat and cook with peanut butter no problem.

Unless there is further information to give about the person's susceptibility, history, amount of peanuts in the cookies, etc., the simple answer is no, then.
