Randy Moss (1 Viewer)

Yep, I saw noticed Brady in his ear once on the sideline after a pick that Moss clearly did NOT run all out on the route for. The Panthers players are being quoted as saying he basically had "checked out" of the game after his fumble.

He won't cost me my game but if this keeps up I'm sure I'll be losing next week.

He's my #1 player in two leagues and he's basically cashed in his chips.

Won't matter though because there's no way I win either playoff game today.

Not like he hasn't shown this side of himself before. Not the guy you want in the foxhole with you when things are looking bleak...

What is his deal?
Moss is a classic front runner; great skills with an unfortunate "I'm gonna take my ball and go home" attitude. Still, the double teams he attracts do help the rest of the receivers. Just think how good this guy could be if he had Boldin's heart.

I'm glad the rest of my team performed at a high level....his -1pt didn't kill me and it might have earned him a spot on my bench next week with DJax sitting in waiting.

Or Welker's.That was an embarrassing performance from a Hall of Fame-caliber player today. He just quit on the Patriots.

Raiders fans must be cracking up. NE finally ended up with Oakland Randy because BB had the nerve to punish him - now Randy's got his pout on.

What a POS

Unbelievable. I trade for this guy to "go for it" this season. Traded Boldin to get him. Will probably cost me in the first week of the playoffs.

I don't get the packing it in. It's not like the Pats are out of the playoffs. Is this really because he's not getting the ball as much as Welker?

Where does he stand in dynasty now? I had in the top tier with Fitz and AJ, but now ... he may be in the DND list because of the knucklehead factor.

that was pretty bad today.and i'm usually against calling guys out for effort.
Moss always takes plays off during games and doesn't run hard on all of his routes. That's nothing new. He's been doing that ever since he came to the NFL. But he just took this entire game off. That really was an embarrassing performance. If Belichick had any stones, he'd bench him for next week. If it was anyone other than Randy Moss I'm pretty certain that player wouldn't get back on the field anytime soon.

I don't think Carolina's game plan had anything to do with what happened today. Moss gets double teamed by every defense he faces. He just quit today. He is solely responsible for his pathetic game today in my opinion.

He looked like he was going through the motions thats for sure.. but he had 4 targets... I mean how you don't dial up at least 8 to 10 targets for Moss every week is silly... He has not had more than 6 targets in a game over the last 3 weeks.....he has had 6, 5 and now 4 targets today. I sense he is getting frustrated which is still not acceptable.

I agree the Patriots have done a poor job of late of getting Moss involved. I blame Brady for that the past two games. But not today. While I agree Moss should be getting more than 4-6 targets a game I don't blame Brady for ignoring him today. Moss didn't deserve to get the ball thrown to him more given his p**s poor effort.

You can't force the ball to a guy who's triple covered. The Pats don't have anyone to take the pressure off of him. A third receiver is needed badly. I mean Sam Aiken scares nobody. Besides, nobody here knows what's going on behind the scenes in Patriots Land. I heard that Brady and Moss barely speak to each other. That's gotta affect the on-field chemistry.Regardless, there's no excuse for what I saw from Moss today. The man gets PAID to run routes and make plays, not to be a little &%$*@...

With today's game being the exception he makes this team go as he allows Welker to get that one on one underneath coverage that is almost impossible to defend. Even running at half speed... ALl great WR's are doubled often.. You find was to get your playmakers the ball. The patriots are usually good at this.

If he doesn't get that 65 yard TD bomb then he is basically done for the day in terms of fantasy production.

Much better to have Welker on your team. Sure, he'll never get those big TD bombs, or many TD's for that matter,

but you can count on him having 10 receptions for 100+ yards week in, week out.

cost me my playoff game.. :fishing: :suds: ;) :censored: :hot:
I'm only in two leagues. He cost me one playoff game and likely knocked me out of the other. Given the way my teams have been scoring the past few weeks, this putz likely cost me a lot of money today. I hate fantasy football!

didn't see the game, but if i were to indulge in psychoanalysis, he was one of the four players sent home for being late (which itself could be a negative indicator). thomas complained but was already on the outs so predictably a healthy scratch. burgess was apologetic. moss had no comment. maybe he resented the discipline by belichick & was sulking?

I think Moss is just unhappy with his situation in NE. He got the ball so much and won so many games his first year as a Patriot, he must have been in heaven. Since then, things haven't really gone the way he thought they would. Brady was out last year, Moss was a good soldier and didn't pout, and he's rewarded this year by Brady being dinged up (again) and not seeing many balls thrown his way. I'm sure he thought he would be working on his 2nd or 3rd championship by now in NE, not playing on a team that's trying to rebuild a defense on the fly and fill some offensive holes as well.

Duh... You think?Terrible move by BB to send those guys home. If this was a mediocre team they played today they would have lost. And, the playoffs are very much on the line for the Pats.

i brought it up because it hadn't been earlier 25 posts into the thread*.* maybe tigerbot alluded to it (i initially read it as week of drama... to follow)?

Do you remember all the Patriot fans a couple of years ago raving about this guy, how other teams misunderstood him, and how he was the missing piece to bringing 2-3 more rings to New England? And they mocked Raider fans and others who said they didn't trust this guy.

Where are they?

They are wondering what Belichick is going to do with his horrid defense. That's where they are.

I'm right here, and I'm not going to get hysterical over one game.we've got a lot of big games coming up, and if randy comes up big to help win them, where are you going to be?

Today is another shining example of why I always laugh when anyone suggests that Randy Moss is in the same league as Jerry Rice when it comes to all-time great WRs. It ain't close.

Just think, if Moss had the heart of guys like Anquan Boldin, Rod Smith or Hines Ward, he could have been the best ever, but no.

I'm going to be celebrating, because I own him, won despite him today, and I need him to come up big in the next two weeks to earn me some money! But I'm pretty frustrated with him at the moment. I won't bench him. How can you bench Randy Moss? But I really hope you're right.

for what he's done for that team's WR and offense and to get called out by Belichcek and sent home for being tardy in a snowstorm, probably put him over the edge. I can see how he'd be playing with less fire.....BB is an idiot. Your DEFENSE sucks, deal with them.

not surprising to see threads like this given it is randy moss and he always gets a bad rap.

no excuse for letting up, but when he beats double coverages deep he still doesn't get the ball, or it is extremely poorly thrown.

brady with an off year does not help things at all

LOL, one game and the Moss haters jump out of the shadows again. Where were you the last couple of years when this wasn't an issue?

:goodposting: Welker has 36 targets and two rushes in the past three weeks. Moss is a decoy used to distract the defense so Welker can catch the ball every play. Brady has ignored a wide open Moss many times this year, he's also missed him deep a lot when he tried to throw it, too. IMHO, Brady is struggling with his confidence in the deep throws and just isn't comfortable pulling the trigger, so he lives with the dump offs.

As far as the Panthers comments this week, they are idiots. If they were so good at making Moss quit so they wouldn't have to cover him, then they must really suck because they still couldn't stop Welker.

Good stuff, as always Tim.

That's it - I quit. Seriously - what is your over/under for the number of times a player has to quit on his team before it's unacceptable? Guys play for bad teams every week, guys play on teams with poor QB's every week, guys break open and not get the ball every week,etc.. Just when is quitting on your teammates ok? Sorry - for me it's never or at the very most one time.

Big game for Randy next week IMO...betting he bounces back big after all this negative press. :keepinghisfingerscrossed:

i have to say from the games i've seen this year moss has turned into a 1 trick pony. going deep. that's it. hardly any middle routes or short routes at all.

and all this talk about moss opening everything up for welker is a little exaggerated IMO. welker takes a lot of abuse catching that stuff over the middle and the short routes. the guy did it at miami with crappy qb play. i know i know his numbers are better with the Pats.

disclosure: i own moss in 1 league and welker in another.

Eagles fan living in MA. He is getting killed on the radio. Welker of course getting put on a throne. My take is that NE fans have just been looking for a reason to hate Randy. This is giving them exactly what they want, someone to hate. One interesting thing is, as I understand it only from listening to the radio, is that Welker is leading the league in receptions and Moss is either leading the league in yards or very close. Strange to have the combo, and fans complaining about it
