Rank these 5 young QBs (1 Viewer)

To win games right now?

Leinhart

Young

Cutler

Smith

Campbell

To be the most consistent over a long period of time?

Leinhart

Cutler

Smith

Young

Campbell

How about Schaub, Do you guys mind including him in your ranks?

Redraft

Young

Leinart...most of his value comes from his teamates

Cutler

Schaub

Smith

Campbell is the easy dog in all this.

Dynasty

Cutler

Young

Leinart...i dont see anquan and fitz remaining on the same team...$$$ issues.

Schaub

Smith

Campbell

once we all admit VY is going to suck once he can't win with his legs this messageboard will be a lot better off.

why no love for A Smith... his play improved greatly from last yr...
People are still down on him for his abominable first year. He improved from terrible to average last year, but no one is confident projecting him out to be a star, still. I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a better career than any of the other young QBs on this list, and don't see how anyone can rationally predict who's going to be best.

Isn't Fantasy football all about predicting which players are going to be better than other(see Dynasty Leagues)Don't NFL team try to rationally predict which players are going to be better before they draft?

I'm assuming this is for a dynasty perspective.

Tier 1 Talent

Young

Leinert

Cutler

Tier 2

Smith

Campbell

In QB heavy dynasty leagues I'd be ecstatic to have Young, Leinert, or Cutler. They are going to be consistant top 10 QBs very soon.

If you look at the span Campbell started he did better than Alex Smith and Cutler and about the same as Leinart. I think he is very underrated and can put up solid fantasy nubers.

Sure, you would dearly love to predict who will end up being the best and be correct in your predictions. I just don't think the data we have so far for these young QBs allow anyone to predict with any degree of accuracy who will be best. You might as well throw their names in a hat and draw them randomly, with the possible exception of Campbell, who hasn't been good enough so far to even get a shot, and even he might end up being the best out of all of them. There's just too much randomness and noise to make accurate predictions. What if VY has an awful achilles or knee injury next year? Guys who predict him to do well will say "well, no one could have predicted that kind of injury" while guys who predict him to do poorly will say "running QBs are exposed to too many big hits. Look how smart I am."

That's why I think these kinds of predictions are absolutely useless at figuring out which of these guys will actually have the best NFL career. What they are really good for is getting a snapshot of how the FFL community regards these guys at a particular moment in time.

:blackdot:i think top 3 could be future top 5-10 QBs...i like VY best, in class by himself...leinart & cutler interchangeable to me (next "tier")...same with campbell & smith (third "tier")...

Also not a VY fantasy believer.

Granted, he was a rookie, but of all NFL starters last year, he had the WORST completion percentage at 51.5%

Take that stat plus his relative lack of attempts given his running skills and I just don't see him being a big fantasy factor.

VY and Vick are the two ultimate examples of understanding your leagues scoring. They're garbage in our league but in some, they can put up some big numbers.

I think Campbell is not getting enough love here. He put up some decent fantasy numbers in his first starts to end the season last year. He was a raw 'development' type pick and has ridden the pine for a bit but I like that in a QB. He has had time to learn and develop and goes into this season as the starter for sure. He has weapons to use for sure.

Look for Campbell to be a nice surprise. Snag him late in your drafts as others poo poo him.
