Rank these Backup RBs w/ starter potential (1 Viewer)

Bradshaw seems to be ranked highest in most preseason lists, (despite being no 3. on depth chart?), Thomas seems to have similar situation. Both are their teams No.1 KRs. Slaton maybe the most upside as rookie, look for a take over later in the season? Thoughts?

Out of who will likely see the most playing time: Bradshaw/Thomas/Slaton

Out of how I think we'll be ranking them come seasons end: Thomas/Slaton/Bradshaw

I would say Slaton has the least clutter in front of him in order to start. He's definitely the one with the most upside out of all of them, though. He's a game breaker and if he ends up being the real deal, the Texans may eventually be able to get over the AFC South hump in a couple years.

I'd rank them: Thomas, Bradshaw, Slaton

Thomas is the only one I see with the ability to get 15+ carries (if Bush gets injured. edit: to add I don't believe Deuce is doing much. Kinda surprised he made through cuts).

I rank Ward over Bradshaw personally.

I rank Chris Taylor (for now barring additional RB signing, which could move him FT to FB) over Slaton. I think Ahman starts, but probably doesn't last long. Taylor could be an unspectacular Mike Anderson/Droughns/Mike Bell type with the opportunity.

I have to go with Ahmad Bradshaw here. Never been a fan of Slaton in college and he has had some fumble problems in the preseason. Bradshaw looked amazing last season.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but how would Andre Hall compare to these others? I see all four of them as having a realistic shot to start at least some games this year. Deuce, Green and Jacobs are all injury concerns, and Shanahan is always a play away from going a different direction at RB.

Slaton is probably the closest to being an "heir apparent", with the others not being large investments to their teams.

How is Bradshaw going to start over Jacobs?
Is this a trick question? Jacobs gets hurt every year, he has a running style that's punishing to himself and others.
Jacobs has been in the league 2 years, right? His 1st year he shared the backfield with Tiki Barber, then last year he did get injured during the season...but so did a lot of RB like Ronnie Brown, Adrian Peterson, Steven Jackson...are you going to pass on them all? I'm not trying to pick a fight, just seems like you are being a little close minded about Brandon Jacobs...I am pretty high on him this season and think he will easily lead the top of the RB2 class (12-24 range).

Jacobs sat behind Tiki for two seasons, then was the starter last season. I'm a Jacobs owner in my dynasty league, but last season he was anything but durable. Because of the way he runs, he seems like he's going to get hurt very frequently. IMO, the only way that Bradshaw doesn't get at least one start is if Coughlin decides to go with Ward.(FWIW, i'm also very high on Jacobs, and plan on starting him each week he's healthy, but I'm not counting on him for all 16 games.)

Bradshaw is a guy that I filed away last year during the end of the season/SB run of the Gints. I had Jacobs last yr., & several times during that stretch at the end of the yr. I thought now Bradshaw looked like the better back. I also think Derrick Ward looked like a bona fide guy in his brief stint. My understanding, though, is that Bradshaw fills that 3rd down back, change-of-pace role and Ward will be the back up for Jacob's role. So, Bradshaw will get touches no matter what.

He's the tops for me on this list. Plus he's the only one with a track record and a clear role. I like Thomas a lot if he fully inherits Duece's role. I have no clue on Slaton other than any Houston RB is gonna have to show me somethin' 1st before I'll ever consider them.
