I'd move Miami down and Carolina down. I'd add Denver and Dallas. No particular order.

Why are so many of you high on Denver still? The loss of Ekuban leaves Dumervil the only sack threat. Wilson's leadership seems to be missing and the linebacker play overall has been spotty during the preseason. Bly is not that much of an upgrade over the late D Williams, he is a gambler who will increase the interception numbers, but will allow players to beat him.

These both look to be excellent defenses, with nice matchups, but I think these suspect offenses will end up leaving the defense on the field to long hurting their fantasy production.

Depends, then, on the scoring. I don't think they'll be the best in scoring defenses for the reason you mention. But that does increase the numbers of tackles and possibilities for sacks/ints/etc.

Dolphins homer here. I wear the aqua glasses, but realistically I really love the Miami D this season.JT and Zach Thomas return. Matt Roth has looked unstoppable this preseason on the end opposite JT, and Joey Porter practiced today and looks like he will be ready for week 1. These guys (in addition to a solid interior line and Channing Crowder at the other LB) are gonna make the very average secondary look very good this season. There should be a ton of QB pressure with Dom Caper's blitzing packages combined with this personnel. If you get points for ST TDs, Ted Ginn should provide a few this season. He has not been returning Kickoffs in the PS, but the feeling of many is that Cam is holding him out because he already knows what he can do on kick returns - and he wants to unleash him on the league in the regular season instead of the preseason. Same may be true of Lorenzo Booker on kick returns.This D/ST looks an awful lot like the Bears D/ST to me. I dont expect Ginn to duplicate what Hester did, but I do think we will see the endzone more than a couple times this season. He better, because the Brady Quinn shadow will be cast over him for this season and forever more!1. Chi2. Bal3. Mia4. NE5. Oak

Both Oakland and Minnesota have very opportunistic defenses with the talent to force a lot of turnovers. Defensive TDs are to hard to predict but they both should have opportunities. They also both have some excellent match-ups. I like them as later round upside defenses but I wouldn't draft either where you have them ranked. (ETA: Yes, I know you would not draft them there either).

Agree with Dallas. I think they're set to explode on D this year. Outside of the obvious ones: Ravens, Bears and Pats, I'd add:

I've been waiting until the last round to draft a defense b/c I like SF, MIN and GB. If letting up points isn't a concern I think WAS could get some decent TO's and sacks.

Forgot to add London Fletcher. Still, it is tough to persuade anyone to draft the #31 ranked defense from a year ago.
