This is for a 12 team league.

"We see both your starters at running back as below average. Our projections have LaDainian Tomlinson ranked at #6 and Derrick Ward ranked at #24."

This is for a 14 team league.

Your starting running backs should, as a unit, be adequate but not great. In particular we like LaDainian Tomlinson as a top RB. Our projections have Tomlinson ranked sixth and Derrick Ward ranked 24th.

Everytime I try it, I get something that tells me I don't even have enough players to rank, but I haven't gotten involved enough to bring it up yet.

The #6 RB in a 12-team league may be a below average #1, if average means the mean and not the median. The #6 RB in a 14-team league may be above average using the mean, and of course would be (barely) above average using the median. So I don't think this is a quirk. And RB6 and RB24 in a 14-team league, especially when you are strong at other positions (which you would have to be), should make your unit adequate.

That is odd. Can you explain what's going on?
Yeah, I've had the same problem. Posted in Applications thread, but no real solutions and I'm tired of trying anymore. It's just a fun app and holds no real value for me. It worked for a while, and was neat to try out. Cool app otherwise.

In the 14 team, Tomlinson would be a top half #1 and Ward would be a bottom half #2, so overall, adequate.in the 12 team, Tomlinson would be an average #1 and Ward a borderline #2, so overall, below average. The only thing unusual I see is the wording indicating Tomlinson as being below average instead of average (#1). If you read it as a unit, then the below average ranking makes sense.

I do a mock draft in DD, and click the rate my team button. All my data appears to get uploaded, I have the correct 18 players in the right hand boxes, and all the other settings appear to have uploaded correctly. I click on rate my team and get "There aren't nearly enough players here. C'mon, enter a real team."

This is in firefox 3.0.12 both with and without IETabs, as well as IE 6.0 native.

That's how I took it as well, The only thing quirky is the wording, and as you said, if the first part read "as a unit", it may clear things up for people.

The not enough players happened to me. I realized that I had the draft set to 22 rounds but then since I kept two players, I lost a pick so I only had 21. I just added a defense

For those having trouble, double check the info in settings on DD and then the rate my team app

The mysterious "not enough players" message only happens AFAIK if you're importing a team from the draft dominator. To the best of our knowledge, it doesn't happen if you enter the team straight onto the form from scratch. Well, unless of course you really don't have enough players to field a starting lineup.

Bruce and I have done a lot of troubleshooting but are, as of now, still shuked. We will keep investigating. Sorry for the inconvenience.

No worries, would be interesting, but certainly not critical. At the risk of insulting your intelligence, have you tried a simple compare of the resulting URLs? They're quite complex.

It has something to do with the positional roster limits. In DD, I set the roster limits to well above the actual 18 so I don't get error messages when RB hogs (like me) go grab 8 RBs during the draft. When you upload that data, the system thinks you haven't drafted enough players, despite it matching the roster limit. I can't pin it down exactly, cause I've gotten some inconsistent success/failure results with that, but I think that's the first place to look. I'd suggest trying ignoring positional limits for that function and just go with the total roster limit.

If you open up the "Rate my team" page first, before you click the button in DD, then it works fine.

Thanks Jeff (and Patrick T). This is useful information. We'll keep looking.

I've seen instances where that didn't work. But it would be a nice feature of DD if you could put in your login/password and have DD login for you.
