RB Antonio Gibson, NE (1 Viewer)

Anything worth exploring with his recent uptick in statistical production following his sustained run of non-start-worthy performance?

He's produced much better than Rhamondre (though on a smaller sample size). Just doesn't get enough touches to be relevant.

There is zero chatter about Gibson. Is he completely cooked in value?
Own him on a dynasty team... probably wont make it beyond rostering my rookies after the draft. He is 3rd in line for opportunities on this team with Henderson and RS not going anywhere soon.

I had RS and AG in a contract league. I traded RS in March and cut Gibson. But I’m also revisiting for the upcoming free agent draft. I want to believe in Gibson but I’m not finding the case just yet. Still looking though.

If he stays in NE he kind of is.

Its kinda funny, he was quietly really good last season, especially given NE was the worst OL in the NFL last season. Gibbs, Irving, and Conner were the only other RBs last season to be in the top-15 in yards after contact per carry, yards per route run, and % of runs over 15 yards. In my opinion the 3 most important RB rate stats.

I think he's better than the starting RB on a couple teams (Chicago, Dallas, Jacksonville, KC)

If Gibson ends up with a new team in ‘26, I could get interested in a very inexpensive two-year flyer on him for a contract league.

IMO, Gibson will be the Rex Burkhead of the bunch in the JMD system. Rex usually got one series a half and filled in if other guys needed a blow. He also occasionally got more work if a guy higher on the food chain was out for a game. If NE views TH as a successor to JS, TH might get a decent workload. McDaniels had years where he got a lot of RB production with a 3-man rotation (including 120-130 receptions). If JMD tries to leave the training wheels on Maye, the high-end RB usage rate could see (IMO) RS 225-250 touches, TH 125-150 touches, and AG around 100. Burkhead caught his fair share of catches, so he averaged 9.5 ppg in ppr leagues. Not sure Gibson will catch as many footballs, but there's a path for him to be fantasy adjacent to useful. He's intriguing in deeper leagues, because he's probably an injury a way from being a weekly flex consideration.

This is the kind of analysis that keeps me coming back.

I don't know, it's hard for a starter, especially one that had had some success, to lose his job in camp to a guy that.... got shot in the d!ck. Don't go there bud, the $h!+ I make up is all true!!! :) May want to consider how much of Gibson's production was situational, in garbage time.

Lot of hype when Gibson came out, not unlike Omarion Hampton, this physical freak, a freightliner of a ball-carrier. It's just a bit of information making this determination, but I think he lacks Hampton's mindset & football IQ.
