Ya, this has become the worst kept secret. Robinson will shoot up the boards even more now.
Sure, but they’re probably going to use McKissic like McKissic. If they use BRJr like Gibson and Gibson like McKissic he might be even better for fantasy.
Headed towards the CFL is what it sounds like.Gibson heading toward value pick
He’ll be less expensive. But he’s probably looking at ~10 carries a game. No passing work. Robinson may even take the goal line work. Not sure he’s going to be anything more than a bye week fill in.Gibson heading toward value pick

Rivera told reporters they really want to get Gibson the ball in space -- and create situations like that on KO returns. He can be a weapon catching passes out of the backfield: "We have to get him the ball in space."

I agree he should be used like that but for some reason Rivera loves McKissic.Sure, but they’re probably going to use McKissic like McKissic. If they use BRJr like Gibson and Gibson like McKissic he might be even better for fantasy.
We'll see. I always thought they used him wrong and he should be in more of a Kamara type role. Coaches talking about getting him the ball in space is a good thing.
I traded for Gibson early in the off-season because I needed an RB2 - and likely overpaid even at the time - that went poorly. When all the dust settles I wouldn’t be surprised if this turned into a RBBC from hell.
I'm not surprised with Commanders HC Riveria's comment. I envision them transitioning Gibson as slasher role as similarly used by Falcons with Cordarelle Patterson. Gibson dances far too much for Riveria's taste. Beside, Gibson's indecisiveness and propensity to fumble didnt help his case as RB. This is why they took Brian Robinson to be their inside tackle runner. They need a guy who can provide nonsense and decisive runner.John Keim @john_keim

The Athletic's Ben Standig believes Antonio Gibson remains Washington's "best bet" for backfield touches this season.
Standig added that rookie Brian Robinson, who in preseason Week 2 worked as the Commanders No. 1 running back, has been more consistent than Gibson during training camp. Chastised by coaches for his running style and ball protection, Gibson found himself playing with backups last week against Kansas City. By every account, the team still wants Gibson involved. He seems unlikely to handle any of the Commanders' high-value touches, whether that's receptions or carries near the goal line. He's become something of a redraft value as his ADP has cratered.

Commanders coach Ron Rivera expects Antonio Gibson to be the team's primary kick returner this season.
"You still need to see some more stuff, but you know, I think he is," Rivera said. "I do. I think he's done a nice job.” This only furthers confusion over what exactly Gibson's 2022 usage is going to be. The Athletic's Ben Standig reported Tuesday that Gibson remains the "best bet" to lead Washington's backfield in touches, but that is not typically the kind of player you would expose to dangerous kick return reps. Gibson has also practiced with the punt team. Although there is still upside somewhere in the equation, Gibson is a highly-volatile RB2 option, one best treated as a risk/reward FLEX at this point.

Thank you Gibson for winning me a DK Captains Showdown a couple of years ago, vs Dallas on Thanksgiving. Took 1st out of 6000+ for $2000.
i believe he had a very good stretch of games at the end of the season.Thank you Gibson for winning me a DK Captains Showdown a couple of years ago, vs Dallas on Thanksgiving. Took 1st out of 6000+ for $2000.
I believe he was a great "spot start" RB2 that season wasn't he?
Seems like a lifetime ago. I was never quite fully sold on him, but he did have workload and flashes at times.
Where did Gibson finish in your leagues last year?

He was RB11 in mine.

At some point Robinson will be going ahead of Gibson. Everyone gets the same news.Complete avoid for me.
I'll take BRIAN ROBINSON a few rounds later and let him sit on my fantasy bench until ready.
I know Gibson has freakish talent, but I was never really sold on him to begin with.
Ron Rivera might not be ready to fully move on just yet, but I sure did.![]()
I have a draft Sunday, keeper draft (can keep players at original draft pick), and I fully expect Robinson to go before Gibson. At some point Robinson will be going ahead of Gibson. Everyone gets the same news.

Pure fantasy football perspective. I drafted Robinson two weeks ago.Nobody hey?
Says "lower extremities" so that's not good at all. Hope he's back but not sure how unless he was grazed.Pure fantasy football perspective. I drafted Robinson two weeks ago.Nobody hey?
I’m still waiting to see what the true nature of Robinson’s injury is before I can project any enhanced usage for Gibson.
Outlook not so good, but I still haven’t read details of where he was shot or how serious it is.
A few hours before the injury there was a tweet from a WAS beat writer that Robinson has supplanted Gibson. My guess is that this puts Gibson back in the starter role, or if he truly was in the doghouse and unwanted in a starter role, perhaps the redskins make a play at Hunt or Harris. I highly doubt that last part, but when teams are pushed into a corner and lack depth they make moves.
Yeah, I guess my fantasy point is. Don’t just go dropping Robinson until we know more.Says "lower extremities" so that's not good at all. Hope he's back but not sure how unless he was grazed.
Ya I wouldn't drop Robinson yet, but more wondering about Gibson's value. Drafting tonight in the league I commission and want him of course, just trying to see where to slot him into rankings.Yeah, I guess my fantasy point is. I can’t imagine holding him if it’s anything beyond a graze… but my personal experience with how fast bullet wounds heal is watching the Lethal Weapon movies growing up.
If I assumed he was going to be the starter. I’d probably bump him into that group of 5th rounders. I like all of those 4th rounders better than him, except for maybe Hall, who I’m personally quite low on.Ya I wouldn't drop Robinson yet, but more wondering about Gibson's value. Poor choice of words.shot him up
Ya it is strange for sure. Maybe it hasn't been released? He did tell his teammates he'd be back soon doing what he loves. Is there a chance he's ok to play?Seems a bit odd that no local reporter is talking about the extent of Robinson's injury
There's no real precedent for this. My automatic reaction when you hear he was shot was he's done for the year, but maybe once the bullets are removed (assuming no internal damage) - it's basically just a wound healing.Ya I wouldn't drop Robinson yet, but more wondering about Gibson's value.
