RB Breece Hall, NYJ (3 Viewers)

chatter is picking up on him being dealt before the deadline. It makes zero sense for the Jets to keep him at 0-6, and I rank landing spots in this order: Houston, KC, Wash

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this potential spot but I think Houston could be a sneaky fit. Mixon is toast, anything can happen to Chubb and Marks is still a ?. Hall could have a nice second contract there.

I'd love him here. Problem is the contract extension with Stroud and Anderson coming due as well.
that wouldnt be as bad as Burrow, Chase, Higgins. Of course Cincy is awful, but HOU can def sign/keep all 3 and be better off than Cincy. Breece isnt getting anywhere near $20M a year. HOU would be nice with him tho. Build up OL in the drafts.

I own a lot of Breece Hall, and Kamara , and generally pull for a trade for one of them.

But I got to say the grass is not always greener on the other side and I'm particularly concerned about one of them ending up with the Patriots and joining an ugly 3 man RBBC. Multiple reports that NE is shopping for a RB.

Breece may be saved from that due to division thing, but that no longer seems as much of an issue.

BTW-we need a trade thread and if we had one I'd mention the "big name" RB I think is most likely traded is Tony Pollard. The most likely RB to get traded at all IMO is Jerome Ford.

Contract extensions for RB's is really not much of a big thing though.

I believe Barkley signed for only 3 year $37.75 million last year (they since gave him another extension) but his cap hits are still less than $10MM per year the first few seasons. He does have a lot of void years they'll have to eventually eat but RB salary's aren't big hits like you said.

Texans GM has done a crap job managing the cap though (IMO) so they do need to pinch some pennies where they can or rework some big $ contracts.

While we wait for him to be traded, some clips to smile to yet still feel pained because Breece doesn't move like even his 2023 self. And the run he has against Buffalo where the WR celebrates instead of blocking for him and he gets caught from behind? That was opening day and he hadn't a full year to heal.

The year after returning from a torn ACL, 2023 Breece Hall was a big play machine, finishing:- 4th in scrimmage yards- 6th in yards after contact- 1st in receiving yards by a running back- 5th fastest speed among rbs (21.5 mph). 2024 is where we saw the dip in mph, not 2023.

https://x.com/jetsflightline/status/1978286916458938818. This is 2023 explosive runs. He still led the league, I think.

https://x.com/ClutchFantasy/status/1978311460787777746 - This is a 2022 clip of his long TD run in Denver the day he blew his ACL. Check the speed.

https://www.newyorkjets.com/video/h...-best-plays-in-a-116-yard-game-vs-the-packers - Sick run here against Green Bay when you realized dude was special (2022)

https://www.newyorkjets.com/video/breece-hall-2022-season-highlights - This is eight minutes of 2002 highlights, but he didn't play enough games to have a reel, really

From my brain to hopefully God's ears????? LOL

He does for like the initial 10-20 yards.

It's really kind of unusual IMO. Great initial burst and then it's like he can't open up or hit that next gear.

I was watching the week 4 game very closely and noticed this as well. He was getting tracked down by linebackers and running out of bounds (literally running to the sideline) after pretty big gains... where in years past it was a house call. I also noticed that he was leaving the field after every chunk gain.

It's totally changed my mind about what I'll take for an injured star. I was a little sick when it happened in Denver because for whatever reason I thought it might really affect him more than most. i mean, he was 215+ and had gliding sprinter speed when he got the corner. But, man, Nabers this year. Watch that stuff. Some guy offered me MHJ and T. Hunter in an offense-only league for Nabers and I didn't smash accept because—well, because there are weeks you can't use either of those guys and he sent it like the day of or after Nabers' injury so I was touch sore that my shot at a ship was marching out that door, but if I had my wits about I probably go ahead with that. I don't know. I know KTC would say that's a good deal, but Kyler and Lawrence every week? I don't know. Fair offer.
