RB Carlos Hyde, JAC (2 Viewers)

The funniest part about this is that neither one of you are thinking about what you could get in return. You're too busy cleaning off your mouths.

Maybe if you knew anything, you'd realize most owners that have Hyde also took him in a spot where they 'already' have the guys rostered that your suggesting they should trade for. That's what happens when you hit on gems in rds 5+. Most Hyde teams are stacked elsewhere. Think about it. Thanks

People took him in the 4th/5th round. What the hell are you gonna get in return that can improve your RB2/3 better than Hyde?

Don't get me wrong the guy looked great but we all know that. Hello? He even has his own thread now for that spin move OMG!

I ask you, what other players could fetch more than Hyde after his big Monday Night TV highlight reel on the first week?

Don't be scurred, upgrade while you have the chance and reap the benefits of a great draft pick. (unless you totally believe in SF the "dumpster fire" all of a sudden)
didn't look like a dumpster fire to me.

team in purple looked clueless and everyone was raving about them

Dumpster fire is a FBG favorite term for their situation. And I'm not convinced they won't be right. Regardless, this was just one game at home to open the season on MNF against a crappy team.

You are right about the purple it seems. Although I didn't realize - or read - that "everyone was raving about them". Both teams were predicted to be less than mediocre.

You act like teams don't ever surprise people. We only see it every single year in this league. It's not a formality that SF will be bad because that was the consensus prior to yesterday.

Selling Hyde would be a damn crime and to suggest that to anyone after what we saw last night is downright foolish. This league is filled with mediocre RB's, so sell 1 that can be a special back. Great advice.
:goodposting: I think he is trying to put that out there so he can get him in his leagues lol

He forgot Harbaugh took his highschool offense to a great place for him, Michigan. Hyde looked awesome and could be top 5 back if he plays like that this year.

Hyde's physical transformation is similar to Bell's after his rookie year. Hard to believe it's the same guy I saw in college.
Yeah this. He wasn't that impressive last year either.
No. He was that impressive.

As a Gore owner last year and this, you're constantly looking over your shoulder.
Sorry man, as a 49ers fan that watched most games last year, he never looked impressive. He had a 4.0 ypc vs Gore's 4.3. Gore was better last year.

He definitely didn't look this impressive last year, but it's kind of hard to do when you only average ~5 carries per game. His ypc average is tough to put much stock into because of the small sample size- he only had 3 games with double digit carries (two of them were vs. Philly and St. Louis). Plus, he had a relatively high number of carries in "and-goal" situations, which also hurt his ypc.

I thought he looked fine last year- he certainly didn't look as bad as Bell did his rookie season...

One thing to note here was that while Hyde looked great, Reggie Bush was looking to spell him pretty often. I believe Bush took over on the third drive and played the entire drive until he came up lame. I'm thinking the game plan was to give Hyde far fewer carries than he got. Two things to watch here. 1) How injured is Reggie? 2) Will the coaches decide that while they intended to ease the guy in, that the way he performed yesterday has earned him full on bell cow status? I don't know the answer to either question...

I'm going with watching Hyde and being worried for Gore, which is sort of why they let Gore walk...

He had a burst to the hole, frankly. But I'm not itching for anything other than laudatory stuff for Hyde today. He killed it last night, and would have been wonderful last year if not for Frank blocking his way to the lead back status.

And Hayne would be a good lead back for about ten teams in the NFL, too.

Nice to be a 49ers fan for running backs these days.

He looked average. Most runs he was trying to bounce outside but he wasn't able to get the edge because he wasn't fast enough. Now that he cut weight he's able to get the edge.The 49ers also expressed concern through GM moves by signing Reggie Bush, keeping Kendall Hunter, and drafting Mike Davis.

Average enough to let a HoF'er go and work in for touches his rookie year? Okay. You and shady and cstu sound right.

Well yes, Gore was 32 and SF was clearly not going to compete for a super bowl this year. Might as well let see what you have in the young guys.

Looked great last night. I must admit that all 49ers were on my "do not draft" list because of their offseason problems. I figured they would be a fantasy wasteland this year. They look ready to prove that wrong.

Thought he looked much better last night than he did last season (quicker for sure), but a bit tough to gauge due to the size of the holes he ran through for most of the night.

They have been the trendy pick for surprise playoff team the past few weeks.

Someone mentioned the 49er's excellent run blocking, and that's definitely a factor if you're trying to temper your Hyde enthusiasm from last night. That said, Hyde looked quick, strong, and hard to tackle.

Having an offensive line that opens huge holes is a bad thing?

Just kidding, I know the point is you don't know if that was the line being that good or Minnesota's defense being that bad. Time will tell.

It's a tough division but Lynch has been able to run over it since 2011. I'm not ready to crown Hyde SOD but you couldn't ask for a much better debut. Let's see how he fares vs. PIT this week.

Sell high if I've ever seen it. Between those two blathering idiots in the booth tonight and their national audience it's a perfect sell in re-draft. This team isn't that good. And Minnesota is worse. They both still suck. What's new? Trent Dilfer kept comparing Colin to a ferrari and thought Hyde was headed to the HOF. He fawned and screamed about his "hometown" for 3 hours on national TV.

Lots of people will listen to that stuff and buy it. Sell high tomorrow if you get the chance by the coffee maker.
Why haven't you been banned yet?
Banned for an opinion you don't agree with? Settle down you monkey.

Who would have thought after week 1 that Carlos Hyde and Bishop Sankey would both top 5 RBs. Doubt Bishop can continue, but Hyde looked to have the goods.

Didn't see any of the game except for what the Red Zone showed. Saw him walking into the locker room. His stat line doesn't look great but I realize he missed time in the locker room. How did he look when he played. And what was the diagnosis?

He looked banged up almost from the start but the head injury lead to his departure. Hopefully he goes through the protocols and is fine for next week.

So what actually happened yesterday? Cleared of concussion and could have come back in, but didn't because of the blowout?

He took a vicious low hit to the knee and it hyper extended severely (they were actually looking at his hamstring on the sidelines?) ....I was surprised he limped off the field then came back in the next series. He played another quarter and a half after that shot but didn't have much burst as you could see it was bothering him. In the 3rd quarter he took a hit to the head on a running play and got up slowly....jogged to the sidelines and the trainers took him into the locker room...The game was long over and with his knee and bell getting rung no need to even consider putting him back in.

Nice coaching. Hyde ran hard up the middle and trucked a couple defenders for some nice gains early on. Gets up in crazy mode jarring at opponents. Coach proceeds to follow those up by showing off the magic of kaepernick's(riffleman's) arm. Well done.

Selling Hyde after week one would have been a crime..... you would have been robbing the owner you sold him too. My gut told me that week 1 was not going to be indicative of his season. His team isn't very good at all. Hyde is an RB3 going forward imo. I view him the same way I view Alfred Morris.

Just make sure u go into the Luck/Cooks and JStew threads to follow up on their huge seasons. Ya know since u really loved them

But I'm guessing you haven't done that.

;)

I want to buy this guy low so badly......
Even lower now...
I know. I'm wondering what it would take to fetch him. Hyde owners - what say you? I looked at his scheduled, honestly doesn't look all that enticing. May be better than it looks - easier to run on Seattle than pass on, etc.

@NYG

Baltimore

Seattle

@STL

ATL

Bye

@Seattle

Arizona

@Chicago

@Cleveland (playoff 1)

Cincinnati (playoff 2)

@DET (SB)

His schedule was one of the reasons I was strongly considering selling high after week one. It's pretty brutal.

This team looks like a dumpster fire this year, so I'm not very optimistic in redraft. He does seem to have plenty of talent though, so I'd be buying in dynasty.
