looks like someone needs clicks....
Walter also said he could get me a toe, by 3:00 this afternoon, with nail polish.Well, if Walter says it's true...
He also lists Baltimore as a trade partner because Alex Collins is no good. So definitely.looks like someone needs clicks....
Great deal for you. I'd like Hyde a lot and I would give that up for Thomas. If anyone is looking for perspective I just managed to sell Hyde. 12 team, super-flex, PPR redraft.
I had: J.Howard, Hyde, D.Martin, Darkwa, McKinnon, D.Henry & Adbullah. My WRs were: Julio, Evans, Tyreek & Funchess.
I had been trying to package Hyde for a couple weeks to upgrade at QB (or WR) but everyone countered wanting one of my WRs instead so...
I gave up Hyde and Funchess and I received Michael Thomas (WR, NO).
I now plan to try and use a WR to upgrade at QB.
I still love Hyde ROS but for whatever reason, regardless of his production he has been tough to sell.
HTH
I'm thrilled with the deal (wouldn't have made it otherwise) but I feel that Carlos Dangerfield just doesn't get any respect. All the rumors about being traded, ceding time to Breida (or Mostert), not fitting the scheme, not being a Shanahan guy or Hightower coming back in etc. etc. etc.Great deal for you. I'd like Hyde a lot and I would give that up for Thomas.
Shanahan and Lynch both signed 6 years contracts to re-build from scorched earth. It's not a madden franchise. The incentive to play vets is that 7-9 is a lot better for Shanahan's job security going forward than 2-14 is. This is a team that's lost 5 straight games by 3 points or less. They're not as bad as their record indicates.
OVER THE LINE!Walter also said he could get me a toe, by 3:00 this afternoon, with nail polish.
Hell, I would sit Garoppolo too, and start fresh next season with a VERY high first round pick.Gotta tellya, as much as I enjoy watching Hyde run, and as much as I accepted some risk with the 9ers, I'm not really lovin' how this is going. Beathard comes in, looks every part the overmatched rookie he is, Jimmy G gets traded for (yeay) but Shanny says he can't guarantee he'll play this year (huh?), and then Garçon goes out for the year.
They've been good at the scorching part so far.Shanahan and Lynch both signed 6 years contracts to re-build from scorched earth.
I would definitely take Hyde for that.Got the chance to acquire him for C Kupp and a 4th. Thoughts?
That is a nobrainer. I hope you already accepted.Got the chance to acquire him for C Kupp and a 4th. Thoughts?
Yep. Good deal imo.Got the chance to acquire him for C Kupp and a 4th. Thoughts?
You can never have enough quality RB's this time of the year...Got the chance to acquire him for C Kupp and a 4th. Thoughts?
Carlos Hyde was ejected late in the fourth quarter Week 9 against the Cardinals for fighting.
Hyde did not do much in a scrum following a late hit on C.J. Beathard, but he was ejected anyway. He racked up 41 yards on 12 carries and 84 yards on a team-high nine catches before being tossed, with several of those receptions coming as the 49ers were in comeback mode late in the game. Hyde also could have had a touchdown, but he was vultured at the goal line by Beathard. Assuming he is not suspended -- it would be a miscarriage of justice if he was -- Hyde will be a good play against a struggling Giants defense next week.
Carlos Hyde rushed 16 times for 25 yards in the 49ers' Week 15 win over the Titans, adding two receptions for 14 additional yards.
It was one of Hyde's 2-3 worst games of the season, but the 49ers rode Jimmy Garoppolo's arm to a narrow victory. Hyde's stats have been worse since Garoppolo took over, which is surprising since the 49ers' offense has been much smoother overall. One of the main reasons for Hyde's statistical downtick is that Garoppolo isn't checking down to him nearly as often as Brian Hoyer and C.J. Beathard did. Hyde has only five catches in three games with Garoppolo at quarterback. Hyde will be a low-end RB2 for Week 16 against the Jaguars.
In fairness, the Titans are the 2nd best defense against the run this year. And 4th best against RBs in fantasy. So can't really hold that against Hyde too much.It was one of Hyde's 2-3 worst games of the season,

The Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows believes the odds are higher free agent Carlos Hyde leaves the 49ers.
The Niners didn't seem all that committed to Hyde throughout coach Kyle Shanahan's first year in charge. Hyde's week-to-week usage was flippy-floppy at best as he lost reps to UDFA Matt Breida, and Hyde's receiving numbers really fell off once Jimmy Garoppolo took over under center. However, Hyde did have some solid rushing days -- 14-78-1 and 15-90-2 -- with Garoppolo. We tend to side with Barrows here; Hyde can likely command more outside of San Fran.

But he may like to see what winning is like as wellHe’ll command more money than NE is willing to pay.
Not for the amount he'd have to give up.Mingooch said:But he may like to see what winning is like as well
And add some cheaper RB depth. Spend money and early draft picks on other positions.go with Breida and Joe Williams
Which is why I think it makes sense to resign Hyde. If he is a fit for Shanahan. And if he doesn't cost too much.I think it's very important that San Fran focuses on putting quality talent around Jimmy G...they look like they have solved the NFL's biggest mystery (getting a good QB) now they have to put him in the best position to be successful...a piece of that will be the backfield (with O line being the most important)...if they let Hyde go they need to make sure they are adding another piece or two...a backfield of Brieda and Williams has a ton of room for error...doesn't mean they can't produce but it does mean they need to add a solid vet or two or a rookie with a lot of upside...the only thing San Fran should be worrying about this offseason is Jimmy G's growth...get that squared away and everything else will eventually fall into place...
If not Hyde than someone around his caliber...I think he is a quality RB but if there is something about him they don't like or if he is trying to break the bank I understand moving on from him but they need to bring someone in that solidifies that position...Which is why I think it makes sense to resign Hyde. If that happens, Jeremy Hill would seem an ideal fit. Or McKinnon if shanny wants more of a receiving back.If not Hyde than someone around his caliber...I think he is a quality RB but if there is something about him they don't like or if he is trying to break the bank I understand moving on from him but they need to bring someone in that solidifies that position...
I like Hill too...another guy that I think is just under valued. The bengals should have never drafted mixon because they had a top 25% back alreadyIf that happens, Jeremy Hill would seem an ideal fit. Or McKinnon if shanny wants more of a receiving back.
Could be a nice fit on the Giants. Oline awful but I think Hyde can still put up good numbers.I think Hyde leaves and is a fantasy phenom next year.
Could be, certainly fills a need.Could be a nice fit on the Giants. Oline awful but I think Hyde can still put up good numbers.
I would much rather have the Shanahan running back in an emerging offenseI think Hyde leaves and is a fantasy phenom next year.
I was going to write the same thing. The Raiders could use a back like Hyde. And, Hyde would flourish on a Raiders team that will have a very good O in 2018.He can come across the bay to sign an contract and not even have to move.
I think you need to take into account who was in Shanahan's offense this past year...this was not a Shanahan offense firing on all cylinders...it will be getting more talented the next few years...Not sure I agree that Hyde is much more talented than Latavius.
I like Hyde, a lot, and I loved him going into this season with Shanahan as his HC but he was...okay, I guess.
He finished RB#10 on the season, which is awesome ROI for where I drafted him but that really was more of a volume result than IRL NFL production (monster week 17 against a Rams team resting key players too). He had 3.9 ypc, 5.9 ypr and...I find that disappointing. Maybe he just isn't a fit for Shanny's scheme.
Maybe.I think you need to take into account who was in Shanahan's offense this past year...this was not a Shanahan offense firing on all cylinders...it will be getting more talented the next few years...
Agree. They will upgrade the interior line in free agency and possibly an early draft pick, along with hopefully getting Garnett back healthy and in better condition. Plus, having Garoppolo for a full season will open things up.Boston said:I think you need to take into account who was in Shanahan's offense this past year...this was not a Shanahan offense firing on all cylinders...it will be getting more talented the next few years...
