RB Dalvin Cook, DAL (2 Viewers)

I just don't see how Cook gives them anything different from Elliot at this point.
This is how you miss opportunities and end up chasing players after they flash. Opportunity = production. Even players we DO expect to show something different often don’t. You grab him now if you are in need of a RB and cut him after you confirm your beliefs

Yep that's eventually what i landed on. Worth a week flier. Something's gotta give in DAL IMO.

I live in Dallas and if not this week Cook will be activated next week. Remember a practice squad player can only be elevated three times. After that he is automatically waived or officially signed to the active roster.

TBH it really doesn’t matter if Cook is decent. It’s going to be a three headed committee. Cause Jerry Jones won’t ever make Zeke inactive. So as a general rule in FF. We stay away from three headed RBBC.

Tagging my own post as I believe you can’t start Dowdle or Cook week 8. Still a 3 way rbbc.

I have been assessing this all day.
Two factors here: Narrative + McCarthy

Chiefs had to bring in someone cause Pacheco broke his foot.
Cook is being elevated and there is no injury to Dowdle or Zeke.

So they know what they have in Dowdle (his 4th year with the Cowboys) and Zeke (washed up). Having said that, this move might mean Cook will be featured. And if we believe this narrative then he’s absolutely worth picking up.
McCarthy has always preferred a workhorse. Complimented by a change of pace. So my initial thought of this being a 3 way rbbc doesn’t apply cause of McCarthy and the timing of this promotion with no injury to current active day RBs.

Goes right into it.

Shocking how little they've seemed to care about the RB position while it's market shows there's plenty available cheap.
It's debatable if they're any good but one is rocking for the Chiefs.
Anywho....unless Leupke were to get 20 carries out of the blue then everyone else got enough looks and it's time to move on.

Cook represents the process of moving on.

If he doesn't work out, I'd look for them to try and add more backs and finally get rolling there. Jerry has been so frustrated lately with the RB questions that it borders on anger.

Does it matter if he's active fantasy wise?
No Cowboy running back is fantasy relevant right now.
Not now.

Maybe tmrw night.
If you have to consider starting a Cowboy running back my sympathies to your fantasy team
Things can change and someone can emerge, although I don’t see Cook emerging out of it.
So no Cowboys RB will be relevant this season? You may be right. Because we are about halfway home and... yeesh.

Yep. This always reminds me of Moneyball where Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) points to Jonah Hill during their scouting meeting and says "do we care how they get on base?" and Hill responds "we do not."

Can't imagine anyone actually starting him this week. I picked him in a few spots this morning but am definitely super curious if there is anything to see here.

This could be another Hunt. But Dowdle is better than Perine/Steele.
Even if Cook excels, his injury history demands a sell quick approach.
I missed on Hunt, but just can’t afford the spot for Cook. I’d have to drop Lawrence, Warren or KAllen and I need the qb/wr depth. More than I need the rb depth or trade piece.
Good luck Cook owners! As a previous long time Cook owner, I’m rooting for him to have a good positive end of his career.

Tom Pelissero
#Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle became sick upon arriving to Levi's Stadium and is now questionable for tonight's game, per the team.

Dalvin Cook, who was elevated from the practice squad Saturday, suddenly could be in line for a big load tonight against the #49ers.

Rico Dowdle will be inactive tonight, per source.

You're up, Dalvin Cook and Zeke Elliott.

Watched the game.
The Cowboys staff is terrible at coaching the running game.
Which is weird cause over the years they have been one of the more reliable oline for the run.
Stay away from this backfield.
Last night you can tell they tried to establish the run. The only reason last night was a one score game is because they went back to their tendency.
It's going to be Dak + Lamb moving forward.

True with younger guys only.
I grabbed him and I think I was correctly teased in my league chat for thinking a back whose bod shows a lot of age would do anything.
He and Elliot are so washed up.
They could both own it and probably be a human bulldozer to end their careers but they keep trying to make moves and burst with no burst and ...they're toast.

Put Leupke in and entertain me, if nothing else. Defenses do shift some and respect his smashing fullback ability a little bit so it does affect the defense at least a bit.

Jerry isn't listening to anyone about RBs so I guess they won't sign an available RB as they should.

Dallas really needs a running back that can get through a hole before it closes. Elliot is not that. Cook is not that. Dowdle is also unimpressive. They need to address this position sooner than later, and also their #2WR. They need a WR that can run a route.

They had the opportunity to do that in the 2nd round or 3rd round of the draft last year and failed to do so. Hell, they cared so little about the position they didn't even draft one in the 5th, 6th, or 7th round. They have no one to blame but themselves.
