RB De’Von Achane, MIA (3 Viewers)

Better off he sits anyway against the Jets.
Inarguably a bad matchup, but Achane is one of the few RBs that can accumulate an entire games worth of fantasy production on one play. Jets could stuff the run all game except one for one play where Achane slips through the tiniest of creases and boom. Going to be tough to sit him of he plays.
The Jets aren't that great vs. the run. I think alot of people think they are for some reason. They give up 137+ yards per game. Only two other teams are worse.
shoudl be a good game for mostert
+ JWJ
jwj lol...

Don’t think it’s a bad matchup at all. Jets are tough against the pass but completely average against the run. Beatable. If the O line is reasonably healthy Dolphins should run it all day.

Surprised no more talk about it, but he's out this week.

Seemed to come outta nowhere.
Don't think it's official, but there are many saying he's "unlikely to play." Pellissaro one source this morning.

I'm shocked he had a limited practice all week to be honest.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said De’Von Achane (knee) didn’t suffer any setbacks prior to Week 12’s matchup against the Jets.

In a well-articulated explanation to the media, McDaniel suggested Achane’s Week 12 absence was more out of caution on a short week than anything else. Achane re-injured his knee in Week 11’s win over the Raiders, but was limited as a limited participant in practice throughout the week. It sounds like there’s a good chance Achane will suit up in Week 13 against the Commanders, although we’ll know more on that when the team releases their first injury report of the week on Wednesday. If he’s active, Achane should have plenty of upside against a Commanders defense that’s been among the worst in the league this season.

Limited.

Wasn't he limited all last week and sat?

Have options tonight. No indication Achane will be active or on a pitch count etc. Ugh.

He's basically been healthy for 4 of 11 games. So the question isn't can he dress and be active. It's can he be available moving forward. Dudes fun to watch so I'm hopeful. Every roster is different but id he hard pressed to put him in my starting lineup for this week.

If you were a big underdog and needed a bunch of ceiling he is a great guy to throw in your flex this week (assuming he is active).

Great point. I'm against Dak and Metcalf already. I can see a scenario where I plugged him into my flex and hope for the best.

I just wish I could expect a normal escalation of touches with Achane getting warmed up this week (so sit him), then whatever his full share of touches would be next week (so start him). Somehow I doubt that's how this will progress.

He went from zero touches week 1 to 2 touches for 1.4pts week 2 to 22 touches for 49pts week 3. I'm not saying that's going to happen again, but very little has been 'normal' or predictable regarding this cat so far. I think they'd be foolish to play him if they're not 100% confident he's healthy; I'm betting on more bang than bust if he plays.

A bigger question is do they even need him this week ; didn't McDaniel hint that sitting him last week was at least partly due to not needing him?

That said I'm likely only flexing him over Puka who has a bad matchup amid a downward trend.

Have a FFPC Championship league where it is two of Achane, Warren, Ford or Rice. I am personally starting Warren for sure due to the matchup and I have been a Warren homer all season.

So that leaves the one of Ford, Achane or Rice in my second flex. I am on the fence. Pursuant to some other posts, I will most likely start Achane because my competitor is fielding a tough lineup with a solid projected score. Need the upside. But the floor could really screw me IMO... rolling the dice.

I’m
Looking at him, Perone or d’ernest so the plan is chane!

Have to start two of:

Montgomery
Swift
Achane

Thinking of pulling Swift for Achane. I need to win and am playing a good team.

My opponent started Lamb.

If you are down already due to Thursday game and you have Achane, I think you roll him out even with Mostert if you have him. Wilson may get 3 snaps if Achane is ready to go. All the kid needs is 8 carries and can go to the house on 2 of them.

Yeah I am jamming him in there against DK over Montgomery probably

I think for dynasty, I am hoping for another nice game, prove he's healthy and see what I can get for him. Maybe I am crazy but I would bet against him ...but I would have bet against Mostert too so what do I know.

Not sure why I feel this way, I liked him in rookie drafts. Maybe I am just sad that I mostly missed out on him?

This guy was one of the greatest trade high examples ever

I'm an owner but he will probably never have a similar 3 game stretch. The whole air is out of the dolphins offense.

I wish I shipped him while he was hot
Not many RBs (if any) have or will ever have a 3 game stretch like that. Even if he comes back and does half of what he did in those 3 games he will be very valuable guy to have.

Hard to believe he still leads the league with four 40+ yard runs and is tied for second with six 20+.

That's on 39 carries. For reference, Josh Jacobs has 220.

That MIami offense knows how to create space for the backs. I would guess Mostert isn't doing too bad in those categories either. I mean having Tyreek is like holding the nuclear codes and then there's Waddle who can break the sound barrier.

Hill and Waddle are really good at allowing offense to create space. Ha ha

Yes they are. Like Randy Moss said, "I take the top off the defense"

“If I can’t get to it… nobody can’t get to it.”

I am starting Warren over him at this point. I do have a 67 point lead however after TNF. If you are down and need points, Achane does offer a high ceiling. But risky play imo.

I’m starting him over Brian Robinson. I just can’t sit a guy who can take it to the house like Achane can on any play. I’m Certainly not sitting him for a guy who is probably going to score exactly 10 points.
