RB Hassan Haskins, LAC (1 Viewer)

August 11 2025

Jim Harbaugh on Chargers RB Hassan Haskins:

“Whenever you need a big run, Hassan’s just right there waiting to give it to you. Love the way he plays and runs the ball.”
Harbaugh’s so full of it. Haskins is so ready to give the Chargers big runs that Jimmy gave him the ball 0 times this season before Hampton went down last week.

Yes, also a training camp setting fielding token "How's player X doing?" questions back in August. One of his horses back in Ann Arbor. What else is he going to say?

I really wish we had some conversion metrics for Haskins on 3rd / 4th & short opportunities. HIs rushing averages are bad, but I'm sure there's a lot of situational short yardage and run out the clock attempts bringing it down.

I have to believe if they didn't have faith in Haskins, they would have brought in a new RB the day after Najee went down.

Teams typically go through the formality of testing who they have before bringing in a big name via trade. Same thing is happening as we speak with replacing Gibson in NE. LAC will make a move in the next week or two...based on what I'm hearing from DFS talking heads anyway (Establish The Run, Davis Mattek, etc.).

What I find interesting is MFL projection for Haskins is 11.4 pt this week in 0.5 ppr
For reference R White projected 11.2 and D Swift 11.9

Picked him up BB FA $35 of $200 allowance so there is that....

Almost half his carries last year were 3rd or 4th down and one. 59% were less than 3 yards to go. He was a short yardage specialist.

The question is, how'd those go? Harbaugh seems to like his big backs. So advantage Haskins if he can do big back things well.

Also working in his favor, Vidal had a carry inside the 5 and was stuffed prior to the interception when the Chargers were driving down 10. I'll be surprised if it's not Haskins getting all or most of the goal line carries, which is really reason enough if you're deploying one of them in your lineup week 6.

He didn't really do anything in TEN as a back.

The chargers were happy initially to get him for ST and he made a few nice blocks.

Any time I look, his stats are unimpressive.

I'm not matching with the renewed hope this week off opportunity.

Yeah, as a Titans fan I was never impressed with him. Maybe the change of scenery will do him some good, but I’d personally temper expectations. Feel like Vidal is involved more than people think, as well.

Summarizing dfs takes I've seen: Haskins on 1st and 2nd down, Vidal as the pass catching back on 3rd down. Vidal the better athelete. Haskins with the Harbaugh connection. Neither impresses. Jerome Ford to the white courtesy phone next monday.

My only counter to this: did you see the dolphins run defense last week?

For sure, great matchup. I don’t mean to say I wouldn’t start him, especially this week. In fact, this would be the week I’d surely be starting him if I got him off waivers.

I wasn't aware the dolphins had a run defense....

It was a trick question. No one saw the fins run defense last week 😂

They were the where's Waldo of run defenses.

Not an impressive back by almost any measure and by eye test.

We will see. He’s not going to have much help with that line. Miami run D tho

Ugg picked up Haskins over Vidal in most leagues and started him looks like it is mainly Vidal

Dude, you spend so much money and put so much time in. Why not go on Twitter? I’ll give you the names of who you listen to. They’re just right. And you should know, too. Haskins is a freaking slug.
