RB J.K. Dobbins, DEN (2 Viewers)

Timing stinks for Denver after the trade deadline but they are going to have to find a bigger, more physical style of RB, right? Not sure who is available. I thought of them bringing Estime back but Saints signed him to the active roster last week so they can't poach him from the practice squad, if both parties were interested in that.
JMO but I don't think this will happen. Payton was comfortable trading off size for ability/versatility when he kept Jaleel on the 53-man and cut Estime loose after training camp. Blake Watson was also well ahead of Estime on the depth chart prior to getting injured. Denver's only PS RB at the moment is Deuce Vaughn, who is hardly a bruiser.
Because he had Dobbins.

We'll see but I'd put odds of them signing more of a banger RB in the 80+% range.

Dobbins would need to be put on IR for this to even have a chance

And even if Dobbins goes to IR, in order to sniff the field the hypothetical "banger" castoff would need to come off the street, take a 53-man roster spot away from a team that already has bigger needs (e.g. ILB, TE, OL) and then usurp both Badie and Jaleel on the depth chart for game days (3yrs in the system and a known Payton favorite)

Ain't gonna happen

I think it's a given but I'll say it anyway. I don't agree with you, and think time will prove you wrong.

Fine by me. But if you had some rationale other than a simplistic "Dobbins is a banger (wrong to begin with), Dobbins is injured, therefore Broncos will ignore all other roster realities and sign some banger off the street" then this could actually be a conversation

I have you on block ever since you tried arguing with me about how the Broncos inactive QB last year was the backup.

I only responded to you in this thread because Rock quoted me on it.

But I'll go back to ignoring/blocking you again. Partly because you are an ******* who seems to like to argue with me just for the sake of it but also because for someone who is a Bronco fan you don't know **** and you are already on the Broncos needs and roster space limitations because they just made room to sign Humphrey.

Can Badie prevent RJH from becoming this week's Treveyon Hendo? :ponder:
Good question. Badie was very impressive between the tackles last year prior to injury and Payton trusts him in pass pro (he has been the 3rd down back all this year)

Beyond that, I'd speculate Payton will start off with a scripted rotation between RJ and Badie in the first 2-3 series. See if one of them gets the hot hand and if not then Harvey the obvious candidate to finish. Chiefs game too important to worry about egos or keeping guys fresh. Jaleel strictly backup unless the offense needs a jump start
