Since I've gone into depseration mode for RB, I've been starting both each week. It sounds great when you say "I got 76 points from my RBs!"Montgomery is useless this year except as a handcuff.
If I ever have kids I'm naming them all @Biabreakable(your post from Oct 20, 2023)I would take that pretty easily.I've made a lot of strong offers for Gibbs (or for the #2 pick, pre-dynasty-draft). Obviously, what I'm willing to offer now is significantly lower than in was pre-dynasty-draft.
I asked him what an acceptable trade would look like.
He said: Gibbs, his 2024 first and second (likely quite early, good shot at top 3, but he's in a very weak division so he could certainly make the playoffs), for Garrett Wilson, Quentin Johnston, Kendre Miller, Tyjae Spears, and Roschon Johnson. I considered that was decidedly too steep. But I did completely understand that opinion, as I would not want to give up Gibbs; I didn't think the offer was crazy. But he went to great lengths to convince me it was a reasonable degree of overpay. I thought it was a bit more than reasonable. Curious what others might think. (Our league is a bit crazy for RB's, which somewhat makes sense because 2-3 out of 6 offensive starters are RB's.)
Also I wasn't necessarily looking for picks, though I am always happy to stock up. But I just used high picks on those 4 2023 rookies he wanted. Doesn't seem like progress to trade them in for fewer picks.
Thanks for this, by the way.
I’m starting himHow we feeling tonight after a bit of a slow game against the Packers?
Sounds like they are going to play Montgomery a lot and use both frequently (Gibbs as a receiver). Bet they pound Montgomery early to try and set a physical tone. Then get Gibbs going outsideHow we feeling tonight after a bit of a slow game against the Packers?
That settles it. I’m in too **** itI’m starting himHow we feeling tonight after a bit of a slow game against the Packers?

Jahmyr Gibbs has already forced seven missed tackles tonight (four on receptions), the most by any player in the first quarter of a game this season.

Jahmyr Gibbs joins HOF Barry Sanders as the only players in NFL history to score at least 45 TDs prior to turning 24 years old

Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs now has scored 47 touchdowns and tied Barry Sanders for the most touchdowns in a player’s first three NFL seasons.
It's almost like watching youth football where there's that one kid who's better than everyone else and the whole offense runs through him - except it's the NFL.I know you can't give him the ball on every play but I would be tempted to.
This MoFo is going to sink me after last night. In a must win for 1st round bye my opponent's Gibb killed my Pickens. Feel like it's over before it even starts.
What stings the most is in dynasty 3 years ago I took Bijan instead because he was the RB phenom. Sure, Bijan is good...but he ain't no Gibbs. Oh to turn back the hands of time.

Over his last 7 games the @Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs has:
a game w/ 250+ scrimmage yds
a game w/ 200+ rush yds
a game w/ 100+ rec yds
a game w/ 10+ catches
a game w/ 14.0+ yds/rush
3 games w/ 3+ TDs
a 75+ yd rush TD
No one else in NFL history has done all that over his entire career.

Seems pretty safe now to start talking about him as one of the best to ever play the position. Who knows how his career plays out long term but what he’s done through nearly 3 seasons is beyond Hall of Fame caliber.
Sure there is. The only one putting a cap on Gibbs is you, Dan. Only 19 touches last night....
Charles played 16 games as rookie and only had 600 yards and 1 TD. I see the comp and love Charles but Gibbs is a better player and more complete back.Seems pretty safe now to start talking about him as one of the best to ever play the position. Like all great athletes with spectacular starts... injury or romance are the only things that can derail him.
OK, half in jest here, but I often compare Gibbs to Jamaal Charles. Injury got him and he's not going to the HOF.

This is RIDICULOUS
Through 45 career games:
Barry Sanders: 5.0 yards per carry
Jahmyr Gibbs: 5.5 yards per carry
Jerry Rice: 43 total TD
Jahmyr Gibbs: 47 total TD
Emmitt Smith: 4,601 total yards
Jahmyr Gibbs: 4,726 total yards

Jahmyr Gibbs scored all three of his touchdowns against the Cowboys from jumbo personnel sets.
The Lions used jumbo on 36.8% of snaps, their highest rate in a game since 2021, and gained 139 yards from jumbo, the 4th-most by any team this season.

Agreed; however, before you start saying things like "greatest RB of all time" and "HOF" keep in mind that longevity plays a role. Gibbs is AWESOME, nobody can deny that. He's also played less than 3 seasons. There were moments/runs/seasons where guys like Jamaal Charles, Todd Gurley, Chris Johnson, etc. were also AWESOME and now they are footnotes in fantasy football history.Charles played 16 games as rookie and only had 600 yards and 1 TD. See the problem is that Dan Campbell's fantasy league is dynasty not redraft. He's just trying to preserve his investment.Sure there is. The only one putting a cap on Gibbs is you, Dan. Only 19 touches last night....
Dude crushed my redraft season and I hate it because I've always been as high on the guy as it gets and instead of being able to enjoy this it's just been crushing. This MoFo is going to sink me after last night.
i have three gibbs/JT teams in FFPC finals. Better luck next year.Dude crushed my redraft season and I hate it because I've always been as high on the guy as it gets and instead of being able to enjoy this it's just been crushing. This MoFo is going to sink me after last night.
I did a lot of redraft leagues but he was so elusive for me to draft. If I drew pick 4 he'd go 3, if I was 5 he'd go 4, if I was pick 10 he'd go 6. Was super frustrating and only way I could ever get him was if I used a top two pick on him, which in hindsight I should have but I had him ranked as player 3 overall and barely drew top two picks anyway, two total and went Bijan and Chase so never even got to a point where I needed to veer. Never drew pick 3. This is out of 23 FFPC leagues.
I did a few FFPC Main Event and one guy was in several of my leagues and this lucky guy, who happens to be probably the most succesfull high stakes fantasy player ever, got Gibbs in 3 of them. In two of those leagues I came down to the last week of the regular season, week 12 in this contest, competing against that team in the points race for playoff spots and he ended my seasons with his 55 point game.
Multiple levels of frustration.
Not exactly a hot take but there is no player I'm drafting over him next season, just hope I get a chance.
That's a great duo to have that much, lucky you. But I'm not done this year yet with other teams in the finals so hoping I can actually get some luck this year.i have three gibbs/JT teams in FFPC finals. Jahmyr Gibbs in his last five games:

— 157.6 total yards/game

Averaging 7.7 yards/touch in that span.
I really like that Detroit is in a more precarious position for the playoffs this year too. I feel like they won't hold anything back down the stretch now.The sky is the limit in the passing game. He could be Marshall Faulk 2.0
Their career numbers are strikingly similar. The only substantial difference -- though yes, it is a huge difference -- is total TD's: 47 vs 30. A lot of that is probably Allgeier getting too many of the carries inside the 10.This MoFo is going to sink me after last night. In a must win for 1st round bye my opponent's Gibb killed my Pickens. 37 for me. Gives me a nice little head start in a league I’m fighting for a playoff spot.He scored 80 in our league. I think that's the highest score ever. Bonus points for long TDs.
Oh...and I'm going against him.
he was pretty useful for me this week in a league I had no choice but to start him at RB2 due to BYE issues.Montgomery is useless this year except as a handcuff.
