Javonte Williams rushed 16 times for 135 yards and one touchdown in the Cowboys’ Week 5 win over the Jets, adding one reception for four additional yards and a touchdown.
Williams’ 135-yard performance marks the first time he’s surpassed the century mark on the ground this season. In fact, it was his first 100-plus yard performance since Week 13 of the 2021 season. Williams saw 66 of his yards come on a breakaway run late in the second quarter that helped put the Cowboys in position for a one-yard touchdown pass to Jake Ferguson before halftime, but Williams would find the end zone a few times of his own in this one. Earlier in the first half, Williams punched in a five-yard score on the ground, and later linked up with Dak Prescott on a four-yard pass for his second and final score in the blowout win. Williams continues to be one of the early steals of fantasy drafts. He’s now averaging 20.2 opportunities per game through the first five weeks of the season and has found the end zone four times. He’ll be a fringe RB1/RB2 in Week 6 against the Panthers.
