RB Javonte Williams, DAL (2 Viewers)

Comeback player of the year.
I've said that already while trying to trade him straight up for Buka.guy said no...
I'll keep the come back player of the year.

He's coming back from major injures,Jones isn't. It's why he'll win if last the season.
Javonte got hurt in 2022. He's been back from injury for a while. In fact, Jones has actually torn his ACL more recently, as he did it in 2023.

I love this guy but have just been offered Rice for him straight up. Am deep at RB and sort of soft at wr (BTJ and Ladd) but not sure I want to pull the trigger. Love me some JWilly!
I'm actually in your exact boat with a deep rb roster. I offered up Williams for Rice and was declined. With those wrs id jump at this move if I was u.
When I say deep I mean:

Achane
Hampton
Williams
Marks
Charbonnet

Receivers

London
Pickens
Ladd
bTJ
Keenan

Worried that if one of my rbs goes down, I’m suddenly in trouble with byes.

Also, such a small sample size with Rice, but I am a believer.

Edit: Apologies for trade nonsense in the thread, footballguys bromigos. It’s a tough one though!

If you are deep at RB I would probably pull that trigger and take Rice.

EDIT - just saw your WRs and while Ladd and BTJ have been slow to start they will bounce back. Generally I prefer the RB over the WR as they are harder to replace but no doubt long term WR is better value as they play longer.

Javonte Williams rushed 16 times for 135 yards and one touchdown in the Cowboys’ Week 5 win over the Jets, adding one reception for four additional yards and a touchdown.

Williams’ 135-yard performance marks the first time he’s surpassed the century mark on the ground this season. In fact, it was his first 100-plus yard performance since Week 13 of the 2021 season. Williams saw 66 of his yards come on a breakaway run late in the second quarter that helped put the Cowboys in position for a one-yard touchdown pass to Jake Ferguson before halftime, but Williams would find the end zone a few times of his own in this one. Earlier in the first half, Williams punched in a five-yard score on the ground, and later linked up with Dak Prescott on a four-yard pass for his second and final score in the blowout win. Williams continues to be one of the early steals of fantasy drafts. He’s now averaging 20.2 opportunities per game through the first five weeks of the season and has found the end zone four times. He’ll be a fringe RB1/RB2 in Week 6 against the Panthers.

Ya, definitely top value and biggest surprise to me outside of Daniel Jones. I’ve had Javonte many times on many teams over the years. I thought he was done, I was wrong.

Nick Harris
Cowboys RB Javonte Williams is second in the NFL in rushing (447 yards) and has a career-high five rushing touchdowns, and there’s still 12 games left.

He said outside of the locker room today that this is as confident as he’s been in his entire career:

“I feel like I’m understanding the plays and things a lot better. I’m not just out there running. I actually understand what’s going on.”

Underdog NFL
HC Schottenheimer on Javonte Williams:

"Javonte's the bell cow. He's earned that."
