RB Jaylen Warren, PIT (2 Viewers)

Well that was certainly a pleasant surprise especially after Gainwell’s big game. Started him because I had to. Nearly had a TD as well but called back for a hold.

This guy is so disrespected even @Faust doesn’t post about him!

I went up against him last night. Crud.

I am not unhappy because that could have been worse with a TD or two. I had Chase, thankfully.

Check this graph out. This dude has been unreal this year.

Last night was my first extended look. He showed lots of YAC, more than Gainwell who has better straight line speed. The pass pro knock down of the blitzer on Rodgers TD pass to Darnell may be another reason why he's getting more play than Gainwell. PFF has rated his pass pro as poor in past years - either he got better or the grading system is deficient.

I'm not sure what to expect going forward. The success of both Gainwell and Warren on the ground has alot to do with the multiple TEs. Will teams catch up? Also, I'm convinced that Metcalf is more a physical freak than a great WR.

PFF stats aside, I thought Warren has always been viewed as one of the best RB pass protectors in the league - Tomlin has historically raved about that aspect of his game.

Jacob Gibbs
Jaylen Warren looking like a legitimate bell-cow RB

+ 17.4 touches per game
+ 60% snap rate that appears to be rising

Warren is averaging 14.5 PPR points even with zero rushing TDs. He has a 74% red zone snap rate and 88% of the RB rushes from the red zone in games played.

It's frustrating to watch Warren bounce off or otherwise avoid tackles the whole way down the field, only see him standing on the sideline with his helmet on while Gainwell relieves him for a goal line play where Rodgers throws another TD pass to a tight end.
As a Jaylen Warren owner, I feel this pain. Most of us got Warren at a great price in our draft, though. It has to suck a lot worse for the people who blew the bank or used a Top 5 pick on Bijan Robinson only to see Tyler Allgeier get over double the goal-to-go carries.

Carries inside the 10 yard line:

Allgeier: 13
Robinson: 5

Yeah, well, how do you think it feels to have both guys and see this play out week after week?
Ask me, why don't you?
