RB Jonathan Taylor, IND (1 Viewer)

I had a strong feeling he would have a great game and still benched him over Collins and ARSB in the FLEX spot ... gotta start him in the ship, right? But over who? Leaning on benching Collins as my opponent has Goff.

Be tough to bench Nico against Baltimore’s secondary. Plus with Tank out he could legit get upwards of 20 targets.

Agree but didn't know if Dell out, makes Nico get doubled. Ride with what got me there and bench Taylor I guess

One of the best fantasy playoffs RBs of all time I believe. (if he ever plays in the game) look at his prior history.
Yep. 2020 and 2021 in the 6 fantasy playoff games he had 7 tds and 4 hundred yard rushing games. Epic two year tear for us. 2022, hurt, killed us, games missed. Last year, missed week 15, but ended with b2b TD games. Then this week.

Not to take anything away from Taylor, but man did Raimann and Nelson just destroy the Titans. You could have driven a car through the left side of the line without bumping into any defenders. Raimann might be the most underrated OL in the NFL. He's absolutely a top-10 OT in the NFL.

That’s an embarrassment of riches. I don’t even know what to tell you with unsolicited advice, which I don’t normally give unless I have a strong reason to chime in. This one is no different. Best of luck with your choice. (I’d lean Taylor because I think Baltimore is going to double Collins and it’s a real short week for a guy that just had a short week—I always prefer long weeks when I can get them, and Indy is playing the Giants.)

More I type I’ve decided to leave this. I know Baltimore gives up a lot to receivers, but I think they’ve tightened that up since the bye. The Giants are metaphorically huffing gas tanks for the fumes emanating forthwith. That’s a game you can drool about unless their front comes to play on defense and they stuff eight in the box daring Richardson to throw. More I type, best I’ll just wish you luck again. If I make the finals, I’m facing Taylor. Crap.

I started JT with confidence and he delivered a win in a consolation bracket. Had he played up to his preseason expectations, I’d have been in the playoffs and making a deep run with games like his on Sunday.

That dropped TD might come back to haunt me for some serious cash. In RTS I have Taylor and lost 7.1 pts because of that play in week 15 since that is when the championships begin.

I am currently 4th overall and down 1.05 from 1st place I have Gibbs left and others have players left too but the pay drop is massive

How do you do this every year? Do you draft 7000 teams?

I'm going to have a tough time deciding between keeping 2 of JT, Achane and Chase Brown.
As it stands now (and things can change) I would go JT and Achane. I think CIN could end up drafting an RB this year. I expect some shake-up in CIN. Brown is very good but he might be best as a change of pace/shared backfield type guy. A very good player like Pollard but maybe not an every down guy. I might be wrong but can wait to see what they do in the offseason. Good problem to have though - you have options and a back-up if someone gets injured.

I think INDY and MIA are much less likely to draft an RB this year.

Brown isn't better suited as change of pace. Let's get that clear right now. Shared, yes. All backfields are basically shared. Some more than others.

Missed 3 games. Top 10 in most scoring formats. 1500 total yards and 12 tds. Gonna be 26 upcoming season. Can't imagine him falling out of 2nd round in next years drafts. Only red flag is Richardson isn't very good. Wonder if Colts have seen enough of him for Colts to move on a different direction?

Despite some new arrivals like Gibbs, Achane and others, I can’t help but think JT is the quintessential blue chip player in dynasty or contract leagues. A proven commodity in the prime of his career.

Ankles are an issue with Taylor. It's all health and whether his juice has been sapped by those lower-body injuries. I'd have Gibbs very much ahead of him and Achane by a hair, although I think Taylor is indeed a proven three-down commodity when he's right. If it's full PPR, I might take Achane. Saquon has still got to be there also, and Bijan is RB1.

Do we think Jones keeps the job? If so, I might have to move Taylor up a bit.
Put me down for all year. Most outlets have the Colts as bad. Like #1 pick bad. Jones hasn't been horrible in his career. Just ordinary. Had a couple of good seasons even. I think the Colts see the press and view a .500 seasons a monumental victory. Win one. Lose one. That should be the goal here. A goal I think Jones gives them a shot of doing. Imo

May want to pump the brakes on Jones a bit. Just because Steichen named him the starter doesn't mean all the skill position players get a bump. I believe Jones has missed 4-5 games due to injury like 3 out of the last 4 years. So there is a lingering threat of injury hanging over his head. And the fact that he's just not very good. He had ONE decent year in his rookie season in 2019 where he threw for 24 TDs and 12 INTs. Since then dude is booty. He had a decent rushing year in 2022 where he ran for 7 TDs and 708 yards. But his completion percentage is hovering around 64% in his career. Is it better than AR? Maybe. But not much. People are betting AR will still start games this year due to that. And it's probably a safe bet Ballard AND Steichen are gone after this year. Steichen was supposed to be a QB whisperer and his project with AR has been a miserable failure. If you are hanging your hopes on Daniel Jones...you're pretty much throwing in the towel and you'll be employed elsewhere in 2026.

Yeah it does. Richardson sucks. I don't think this QB competition was a competition at all. Ever.

I'm trying to get in a bet that Steichen is the first HC fired in-season.

If AR is on the team this the whole season I'd be beyond surprised if he's not starting games at some point for the reasons you laid out. I'm not so sure he'll be on the team for long though.

I take it you don't live in Indy and hear all the daily reports and the chatter from the sports writers and radio personalities. Sounds like you and Steichen are hitching your hopes to Danny Dimes. I wish you both the best.

Like I said, AR was Steichen's pet project. He's a "QB whisperer". Him throwing in the towel on AR shows he failed miserably. He'll be elsewhere in 2026. Irsay's daughter, who's been involved with the organization since her childhood, is now in charge. I'm sure she's not happy with how this has played out either. I believe Ballard and Steichen will be gone POSSIBLY before mid season!

I suppose I could be wrong. But it is a growing sentiment.

I don't think anyone thinks or said Jones is good. What I do think is Jones >> Richardson for anyone owning Taylor.

Really? Their division is bad. You don't think they have as chance to win it?
Jones gives them the best chance to win. Richardson was a failure. That's why they cut bait and went with Jones.
In fact, I would argue going with Richardson would have sealed their faith far sooner.

As far as the rest of the players, you think Taylor and company had higher ceilings with Richardson? Not a chance.

Absolutely. I believe Taylor without Richardson was a top 4 RB on a per game basis. 4 points more per game.

Colts won't win their division. No way. Bad secondary, other than Zaire at LB they have JAGs. Their D-line is good...but aging. Jones will just lock on to Pittman since that is what he did with Nabors. O line has questions. Taylor had 1400+ yards and 11 TDs in 14 games last year...WITH AR at QB for 11 games.

I'm not saying Jones isn't a modest improvement over AR (at this point). But saying bump all the skill players seems overzealous. The WR 2 and 3 are gonna fade into oblivion. And if Jones decides to run more this year, he could certainly steal some rushing TDs from JT.

I wish the Colts luck...for the fans sake, but I think they are gonna be really bad...as is usually the case with Daniel Jones QBd teams.
