interesting, but not concerning.FWIW, rotowrong reporting a Miller sighting in colts-ville. I may have missed that the Pats released him.

Free agent Lamar Miller is visiting with the Colts.
Indianapolis also hosted free agent RBs Darius Jackson and Benny LeMay. Miller, coming off a torn ACL and MCL, failed to make New England's roster out of camp and isn't a threat to either Jonathan Taylor or Nyheim Hines if signed off the streets. It is clear the Colts are looking for added help at that position.
You’d have to think Lamar Miller is well outside the top 60 or so backs and not more than anything but depth at this point.FWIW, rotowrong reporting a Miller sighting in colts-ville. I may have missed that the Pats released him.
Yeah - might take some carries but like I said above, shouldn’t impact Taylor’s #s.interesting, but not concerning.
No question. You’d have to think Lamar Miller is well outside the top 60 or so backs and not more than anything but depth at this point.
I really thought he’d start the season with a split and end with 18-20 touches and league winning potential. Looks I was wrong about the start of season split. Oh well sometimes better lucky than good! I have him in half my redrafts.Yeah - might take some carries but like I said above, shouldn’t impact Taylor’s #s.
Taylor went 3.11 in my redraft, so I didn’t have a shot at him regardless. Had he made it to 4.10 I probably would have taken a shot.
Y’all Taylor owners hit the jackpot out of the gate. For about half a game he looked like a rough pick.
Which running back will see the biggest fantasy jump due to Mack’s injury?
I believe the major benefactor is Jonathan Taylor. He entered the season for me as a player who could have seen 250 touches even with Mack playing all season. He brings too much talent to be ignored and left on the sideline. It was a matter of when, not if Mack would be relegated to the RB2 spot on their depth chart.
The issue is that you likely won’t be able to acquire Jonathan Taylor unless you pry him away from the person who drafted him, and that person would probably be looking for a premium.
It all comes down to cost. If you can wrangle Taylor away, you are landing a player who has low-end RB1 upside for the rest of the season. He was my rookie RB1 in dynasty and RB2 for redraft due to Clyde Edwards-Helaire not splitting carries like Taylor. If you play in 0.5 PPR leagues, this gap might be much closer than people want to acknowledge. Both players could end up as top-12 running backs when the season ends.
I feel like this is shaping up a lot like last year with the Chargers when both Gordon and Ekeler were healthyIt would be 3 per game the rest of the way. I understand Hines has his role but I’m not sure it’s that wild to project that from a guy whose going to be on the field a lot with Rivers and his affinity for throwing to the Rb.
Rich man’s version! Taylor has more juice than Melvin and the OL is MUCH better.I feel like this is shaping up a lot like last year with the Chargers when both Gordon and Ekeler were healthy
That's just someone who doesn't work for the Colts giving their opinion. We assume JT would be the starter no matter what but we've seen crazier things happen than a team sign a veteran back and a week later give him 10+ carriers. Here it is. Bringing in a few guys to work out, apparently. None of them would be a big impact to Taylor other than workload.
I think they’re on a hunt for warm bodies. I don’t expect anyone on that list to be an impact to Taylor’s touches. That's just someone who doesn't work for the Colts giving their opinion. I agree- just pointing out that the blurb is just an opinion.I think they’re on a hunt for warm bodies. I don’t expect anyone on that list to be an impact to Taylor’s touches.
Seems like an obvious move to do this.I’m desperate for a #2
move Wilson for him,?
I don’t know why I’m fretting this trade(I own Mahomey too), talk me off the ledge
Agree with poster above. This is a perfect trade for you. I assume you can't start two QBs and will gain a starting RB.I’m desperate for a #2

As opposed to all of the armchair physicians ITT that claimed definitively that it wasn't tor because he could put weight on it?it's always jumping the gun to definitively diagnose it before the MRI. Getting it right on a guess is still a guess.
How is that unrealistic? He just had 6 and will be getting a bigger share of the snaps moving forward. The receptions seem unrealistic unless Hines gets hurt too. Otherwise pretty attainable.
I guess with check-down Charlie at QB it’s realistic. I stand corrected. How is that unrealistic? He just had 6 and will be getting a bigger share of the snaps moving forward.

Yeah, the "new look" Rivers last couple in SD and now Indy - it's what he do.Rivers completed 16 passes to RBs. Including Mack.
Saves his butt from taking any hits and makes "average" the ceiling for his team.Yeah, the "new look" Rivers last couple in SD and now Indy - it's what he do.
It's not even the checkdowns, many of the passes to RBs were really extended hand-offs to RBs with pulling linemen.Saves his butt from taking any hits and makes "average" the ceiling for his team.
Reich needs to tell this guy to quit throwing the ball where there are more defenders than receivers. Why they went away from the running game is beyond me.Yeah, the "new look" Rivers last couple in SD and now Indy - it's what he do.
It could be theyIt's not even the checkdowns, many of the passes to RBs were really extended hand-offs to RBs with pulling linemen.
Agree - Indy has long been a "run to set up the pass" guy, so I dunno what the issue is. Maybe when Mack left the game they didn't trust Taylor yet? That's gonna have to change in a hurry for this team to be successful.Reich needs to tell this guy to quit throwing the ball where there are more defenders than receivers. They were having success with Hines and Mack, so to abandon the running game for Rivers' arm was stupid. Especially against that team. No way in hell they should have lost to Jacksonville, who may not win 3 games this year. They also played uninspired football for sure.Agree - Indy has long been a "run to set up the pass" guy, so I dunno what the issue is. Maybe when Mack left the game they didn't trust Taylor yet? Question about Jonathan Taylor coming out was with his receiving.
No issues in Week 1.
Taylor had 67 receiving yards, catching all 6 targets. 2nd most receiving yards for a rookie RB in his NFL debut since 2000.
Jonathan Taylor rushed 26 times for 101 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' Week 2 win over the Vikings, adding two receptions for nine additional yards.
Taylor out-touched Nyheim Hines 28-1 as he seized complete control of the Colts' Marlon Mack-less backfield. Taylor averaged only 3.9 yards per carry, but his number was called in one obvious rushing situation after another as the Colts buried the hapless Vikings. Early in the game, Taylor was routinely tacking on extra yards and looking a gear quicker than the defense. As expected, he had the looks of a potential monster and league winner in fantasy. Hines isn't going to be limited to one touch most weeks, but Taylor has already established that he will be an RB1 going forward. In fact, he will be in the mix for RB1 overall status in Week 3 against the next-level bad New York Jets.

YesDidn’t see the game. Were the 9 carries of Wilkins just running out the clock to preserve Taylor’s health?
Might be above CEH after it was confirmed he is actually humanHow did he look? Seems fair to say if we redrafted today, Taylor is a 1st round pick, right?
Much like last year. In Week 1 he probably knew far more of the plays. It seems they are much more confident with JT's grasp of the playbook this week.Just bizarre. Hines never saw the field.
Yeah, he is a first rounder today for sure. This dude is a monster, very happy to have him. And the more injuries pile up the more valuable he becomes, really
Good point on the injures. We redraft with injuries factored in and Zeke/Kamara are the clear 1 and 2. Taylor is right in play for the next group of Aaron Jones, Henry, CEH, Cook. This dude is a monster, very happy to have him. And the more injuries pile up the more valuable he becomes, really
Jonathan Taylor rushed 13 times for 59 yards and one score in Indianapolis' Week 3 pummeling of the Jets.
Indianapolis opened up a 14-7 lead to close the first quarter and never looked back — hence Taylor's lightened workload on the afternoon. The rookie handled 13-of-29 backfield carries and 14 of the team's 35 backfield touches, out-touching Nyheim Hines (14 to 11) for the second consecutive performance. Taylor has impressively averaged 4.1 yards per carry as Indianapolis' starter in place of Marlon Mack. He'll remain a low-end RB1 in Week 4 against the 3-0 Bears.

Agreed. Also a bit disappointed in the lack of targets in the passing game. Hoping/assuming some monster games are ahead.I’m stoked to have him, but a bit confused that there has been zero second level runs. With what is purported to be one of the best lines in football, I don’t understand.
Well, they didn't stop Mostert AND McKinnon from having huge runs against them, which was his point. Minny is not a good run D and he had a long run of 13 on 26 carries.Relax, everybody, the Jets have a good run defense. They take away one part of your game, and it's that. The score was 34-7. No need for there to be any crazy stats when you get two pick sixes.
Not to mention they can't afford for him to get hurt with all the injuries to the WRs already.rockaction said:Relax, everybody, the Jets have a good run defense. Assume you're confusing it with someone else?wickster33 said:Pretty clear that the Colts are being very careful with him. In a competitive game, I’m sure he would have gotten the Wilkins touches in the 4th quarter. He looks like he could easily carry a 20 touch load.
i’m impressed with his running style. Very good burst and he got positive results on every carry. The touchdown run was a thing of beauty. He was nailed in the backfield but made an incredible body twist and still had the power to carry defensive linemen into the end zone with him.
He wasn’t terribly involved in the passing game, but it was a blowout and the Colts only threw 25 times. As long as he’s on the team, Hines will have the passing back role, but Taylor made no mistakes in the passing game. Did fine on blitz pickups and routes.
So far, no fumbles through 3 games, although that was a problem for him in college.
To my untrained eye, he had a very successful Sunday.
