Woody Marks’ 93rd percentile IGA Score® reflects the kind of In-Game Athleticism™ that shows up on tape — explosive linear speed with the ability to string together cuts and maintain tempo through traffic.
IGA Score®: 93.4 (93rd percentile)
Dynamic and efficient mover with a slashing style and deceptive top-end burst.

Woody Marks is a perfect complementary back for Joe Mixon. He has good size and can play on all three downs. Automatic hands out of the backfield.
My thoughts on Woody Marks for Texans:
Balances patience with decisiveness, setting blocks into defenders & bursting past the collision. He glides through lanes with vision & enough shake to create missed tackles over the first two levels. He lacks breakaway speed in open field & contact power between the tackles. He’s experienced with sure hands as a pass catcher, with the ability to elude the first tackler in space. Marks projects as a slashing complementary back capable of finding yardage and adding value on passing downs.

Jo'quavious Marks was drafted in round 4 pick 116 in the 2025 draft class. He scored a 6.66 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 704 out of 2106 RB from 1987 to 2025.

Woody Marks is potentially a PERFECT fit in HOU given his ability to run outside zone, but there is one area of his game that could prevent him from getting on the field…. NEW PROFILES on @RecepPerception dropped today
I was honestly shocked this guy was drafted. I watch USC frequently, and unless a play was perfectly blocked Marks was useless as a runner. Has some decent pass catching ability, but nothing special. Honestly, kinda reminded me of another former Trojan in Joe McKnight, but less elusive.
I'm not sure he's necessarily better than Dare Ogubunwale. Fully expecting Chubb to be ahead of him and think people writing off Chubb are gonna be sorry if Mixon can't get/stay healthy.
Long-term, I think there is a greater than 50% chance the Texans 2026 starting RB isn't on the roster yet. They seem like a high draft pick or a Walker/Hall/Cook in FA kinda team to me, or maybe Kyren if the Rams are stingy, given the Caley connection?
I think the opportunity might be there for him to be a one year wonder as a rookie, and I mean for like a 7 game stretch or something. A guy that's gonna carve a role and then eventually luck into a big role for a while but ultimately gets churned away in 2026. But I feel like this backfield is ripe to be taken over by someone and I tend to agree with travdogg up above that they might not be on the roster today. Which is why Marks might actually have a chance to do something.
I don't think the Texans think Mixon is going to be viable and I think they have learned that Chubb isn't happening. They were a team I though might take a higher RB in the draft, and even though we said that about a bunch of teams, they did move their 2026 3rd rounder to move up and get him in the early 4th. Might have been panicky cause there was an early 4th run with Tuten, Skattebo and ETN but nevertheless you can kind of make the argument that the Texans view him as a day 2 RB. But legitimately probably not ready to take over a backfield and so I do think the Texans may very well be working the phones.
That said I have been taking a lot of this guy late in drafts as well as Tahj Brooks and Hunter and a couple others.
