WR Chimere Dike, TEN (1 Viewer)

@MathBomb
Chimere Dike was drafted in round 4 pick 103 in the 2025 draft class. He scored a 9.72 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 109 out of 3816 WR from 1987 to 2025.

These 10 NFL Draft sleepers had awesome combine workouts, but are they actually good prospects?

Excerpt:

Chimere Dike
Notable workout figures

  • 40-yard dash 4.34 seconds
  • 10-yard split: 1.51 seconds
  • Vertical jump: 38.5 inches
  • Broad jump: 10-feet-8
  • Three cone: 6.82 seconds
Is he good? Not quite | New projected round range: Round 5-6

Another year, another obscure Florida receiver with a freaky workout on his resume. Remember Freddie Swain and Tyrie Cleveland? I got those vibes with Dike on film. He doesn't run overly crisp routes but routinely threatened defenses deep, as evidenced by his 4.34 speed. His hands were a real issue in college -- at Wisconsin and Florida -- and when he wasn't asked to simply get vertical and break off the top of his route stem, there were issues generating separation.

Dike can and likely will have a speed role in the NFL. But his workout is unlikely to catapult him far up the boards, because there's plenty of rawness to his game, and he started his college career in 2020, so he's an older prospect.

A Titans reporter did a nice job tonight outlining things-
Dike has only two snaps NOT in the slot. Callahan's insistence on playing all three, this is a considerable negative.
Lockett looks old. He could be Tyler Boyd II. The OL struggles or success could dictate this too but Dike being the Titans slot taking over for Lockett midseason, in this offense....we'll have to see if that even is a good thing.
Elic could be starting and/or getting third most snaps.
Oliver has performed very well. If the Dike by midseason plan is in place, what has Oliver done in that time too?

As I've said many times- people forget there isn't much patience in season. He won't be active if he can't play ST. No 5th 6th WR in the NFL will be either. It's just that cut n dry.

Callahan said they plan to work on ST (among other things) this week and make it another week of TC. This is an enormous week for Dike to earn some trust and get active.

13 padded practices in-season. That's it.

Spears on IR. Jahquan and Prosche cut.
Dike is now the returner.

They don't have confidence in him in the return game. Staff quotes last two weeks.

Reporters already discussing Prosche on PS and being called up each week til Dike is ready.

Very big problem for Dike fans as he wouldn't be active then. Very big deal that staff doesn't have Dike ready.

His potential is why he'll make the team- not camp catches or return work- and that's so rare. He's lucky he went to a bad team

I was shocked they cut Xavier. With all the unflattering things I've read about Dike I'm surprised he wasn't cut and Xavier is safe. I assume Restrepo will be placed on Taxi if not scooped by another team. Dike would probably be safe on the Taxi. Curious.

Lockett and Jefferson are clogging things and good guys very professional but they're older and...tough issue to deal with

Prosche to PS and more discussion today that Dike probably sits weeks one while he's called up.
I understand it's next to impossible to get any good returns in practice right now because the guys coming for him just made the team and could be cut any day.

He's gotta find a way and his blockers could be cut too. 5th 6th WR play ST or are inactive. It's almost an NFL rule it's such a sure thing

Borgonzi said today that Dike will be the return guy.

Pretty much no one believed him so the reporters asked Callahan.
Callahan said Dike will be the returner.

Still not many believe it 🤣

"I mean he said it, but there's still time to change his mind and put Prosche in"

It's really weird.
I guess we have to assume things clicked in practice recently and despite struggles during the summer, that is what they wanted to see.

Dike thanked the staff (in locker room interviews) for believing in him and allowing him to be the return guy this year.

He had confidence and a different vibe. Kid was always tired and always looked like he tried and tried and had a bad day. This was different.

Maybe this is a wise chance by Callahan. Maybe the kid can bring that newfound confidence to the offense. Really wondering if this was clever of Callahan.

Dike goes to fifth gear like Michael Vick. He catches a crosser and can turn up field and vroom woah look at that kid. Everything that it takes to get to that point has been a struggle for him. If it can click, when it clicks, y'all won't only be saying Spears is explosive. It's just...he's pretty useless if he gets stuck at the line or pushed all over by the DB. He was twice stuck out of bounds in preseason as a DB had his way. He needs some fight to him.

I really wonder if it's year two for this kid, but I'll take that newfound confidence and use it for hope

I missed Julius Chestnut added to the depth chart as a KR.

So they handed him the job, surprised everyone, he acknowledged and thanked their faith in him, and...then they listed a third KR

Had a nice return 70ish yards. He showed that speed.
The other returns were ordinary.
Still doesn't have any moves. The famous Olympic guys that returned kicks didn't have any either, I just sort of expect it.
No issues though, he broke one and did just fine despite being thrown to the wolves as a returner.

He had a carry. He couldn't have looked skinnier or smaller on that play. I hope they never do that again. He does not have the muscles and thighs to be running at a group of 300 pound men.

Nine snaps at WR. He didn't do much but get pushed around. This was expected and I'm fine with the get his feet wet snap count. Lockett talking to him on the sideline- I wanted that too.

As they hopefully change towards week two to get more production from their WRs, it can't be this kid. I'm still thinking year two or maybe late in the year. Right now context- a DB putting his hand on his hip shouldn't end the play and Cam needs better than that. Learning context- push back kid, slap his hand away. He might even need a little heft to him to play slot in the NFL. He's just not ready

Dike hit 20.58 mph on his long return (nextgen)

I know you made a case that he's not ready to take on a WR role. He looked good on those returns. Wondering if he could be utilized more as a weapon on offense too. Cam needs more weapons.

He's the only one Callahan did what he said he would with.
He said he'd work in as a WR if he did well on returns and he got nine snaps. Also a carry.
Cally kept his word and made the kid earn it.

Very pleased
Lockett had zeros. I didn't think Lockett was done type old yet.
There might be an opportunity sooner than later

Second reply- also he's got developing to do. I don't have any issues with him in a foot race or running routes but if you watch closely, the slightest bump "throws him off."

He's a catch and turn up field smoothly guy. The radio former WRs have issues with his hands. Cam is mostly a spot thrower so either he runs into it with his body or he needs to stick his hands out (can't recall) but they want him to snatch that ball. It takes him too long to tuck it in, amidst traffic.

You could tell on broken plays, Elic has an idea of let me come back and go here or there, maybe put my back into a WR. Dike looks like umm what do I do now?

Every issue is very coachable but the kid definitely needs some seasoning. I'd be surprised if he can just replace Lockett now. I'm afraid I overstated that. Soon. Soon. I think the Titans are doing a very good job with the young WRs. I'm confident but there's a big grain of salt here.

Everyone online is excited for his explosion and 4.4 speed. There's still seasoning he needs. He isn't quite there

Dike was called out on Sirius
Did ya see him blocking? Straight up and feet together? No one coached that guy.
If fans knew the game better they'd be asking why he had nine snaps and wasn't pulled.

He was pretty raw on the last drive and made a few errors. 3 IIRC
When he goes in for a play, he looks better like it's starting to click.
Idk if reps, mental, just needs time...still real shaky to me.

I'm fine the Callahan using him that way too. Til he's ready, this is a fine toe in water developing.

Nathan Jahnke has Dike with 28 snaps, 5 targets, 2 catches for -1 yards.

He mentions a share with Lockett week one that has turned into almost 50/50 split and maybe eventually soon Dike will take that role.

****
It's there for the taking but it needs to go to Van or rotate all WRs in all spots as they've said they would. Elic and Ridley can take snaps there too.

Callahan said they would not have set positions all off-season and he is using slots most of the time.

We should not be having a discussion of promoting both zero catch guys from last week and now the 2 for 9 guy versus 2 for -1 yards.

Callahan often said the right mentality all off-season over n over. This now is loser speak and a decision teams with the worst record make.

You say "that's not enough production" and then...whatever comes into a coach's mind.

Nathan is fabulous. I sure hope his trend prediction is wrong.

OC largely positive and a bit much yet again this week

@Titans
OC Nick Holz: Chimere Dike can do just about everything, he has a great feel for the game. Like his as a returner, runner, blocker, receiver. We don't look at him as a gadget guy, he can do it all
****
That's just not true.
We didn't miss the snaps he doesn't get open or the drops. We didn't miss him brushed aside like he's a bug. I mentioned earlier how someone called him out for feet together standing up right is wrong way to block.

Callahan speaks realistically. He did this well, so we gave him more that. He needs to improve on this. Etc.

Last week I got an eery vibe the OC was all positive because the HC may lose his job and he's afraid to say anything. Then it came out there was a big meeting and also some strife between team pres and GM. I understood the exaggerated positivity.

Why is it this week? Same? Just job security?
Tag a random Broncos or Rams fan. I'm telling ya no one watched the game and felt this way. He had two catches for negative one yards.

He's been great as a returner.
I don't care if he's ranked middle of pack. He had one called back and that would be one great return each week. Ya can't do better unless your name is Devin Hester.

It's so unbelievable since he didn't do it this summer. It seems like the dumbest coaching move to put him back there but yet....he's rocked.

Here's the ST coach trying to explain it. I still think "well why didn't you practice it?!!!!!!" Amazing gut call

I’m in a return yards league where guys get an additional 5 points if they go over 100 yards.

Dike is scoring 20 points a week and out scoring plenty of big name WRs.

Welcome to the squad. Hopeful trading some of this coach speak that he can get a few more touches in the game as well.

Wow. I just added him in a league w ST scoring but he's only around 10 pts a week rn. But if he can get involved with the offense and still get those return numbers, he'll be lineup worthy.

I had a time tonight clipping the videos learning all my methods/software were outdated. Finally got something working and...the ten seconds clips are 45MB.

I told a couple people I'd post the clips. I will tomorrow. I promise you'll get an oof vibe.

I'll have to do it again at a lower video size or somesuch

Radio- if Oliver sits with his knee, Dike will be the gunner.
Coach was asked this and said Harris and Van had had the most reps at gunner. Reporters a little confused after watching practice but...who cares

I got these together and figured things out
Here's his five targets in Week 2

See I'm saying he's not ready, he's not in sync with Cam etc
Why do people want more of this? On the radio this week (even articles) how he should be playing a ton more and....why?
I see the speed and quickness. I know he has potential. Where he is now....psssh

Tell me what you think please

The play calling change and review of all plays and production should initially negatively impact Dike.
As I posted above, that he's not ready- others think he is. Well then those plays are no good for him and it's obvious they'll come to that conclusion.
Why keep calling screens that get 1 to -1 yards?

So now what?
Could be less Dike and more Van. Could be "he did this well in camp, let's call these plays for him."
I think this review and change will affect Dike. We'll see

Did he have a TD called back? I could sworn I saw him score.
Chestnut broke one that got them to the 2 yl I think. Next play the blocking was atrocious and he lost a yard.
Then Dike came in - because he's a RB? 🙃- and took a carry racing to the pylon.

Also he's had a return called back

He’s the third highest scoring WR on the season in this leagues scoring format. Behind Puka and Tre Tucker.

lol.

He scored me 23.2 points last weekend with 162 return yards.

This scoring format is silly, but must be taken advantage of.

Rashid Shaheed must've been such a stud last year till he went down.

Most likely. This is a new league. Just a bunch of kindergarten dads that pulled it together week before the season started… but still for money. I knew it had return yard scoring, but didn’t pay close enough attention to what it was, and didn’t expect it to add up so quickly. I’ve never been in a kick return league until now.
