RB Jordan Mason, SF (1 Viewer)

Mason owner put him on the block yesterday - asking 2025 2nd
That seems VERY reasonable, I'm surprised a Mason owner wouldn't want more.
Mason owner sent offer to CMC owner asking for his 1st ... rejected and counter was his 3rd ... but some of that banter on the chat could be misdirection.
But CMC owner also has Najee, Cook, D'Achne, Bijan ... so no urgency there in start 1-3 RB

I wouldn't have even bothered the CMC owner with that offer given the CMC owner's other RBs.

I don’t understand the people devaluing Mason because they hope CMC gets a magic shot in Germany that will cure his Achilles.

Considering the history of how this has all played out, I think we have Mason without CMC in the picture for the entire season. Even if CMC comes back, the risk of injury is high.

I’m holding Mason as the season long starter because I don’t believe Germany has a curative elixir CMC can’t get in the US.

I don't think people are thinking that at all. Just saying there is risk for Mason as the starter for entire season and certainly risk for Mason as a starter in dynasty long term.

CMC seems like a long shot to do anything in fantasy this season imo. Is he getting stem cells injected straight into his Achilles in Germany? Maybe some deer antler spray like Ray Lewis?

From what I've heard, it's not some witch doctor voodoo magic elixer. It's a treatment that is available in the US, but he can get it in higher potency form than is available in the US because the FDA hasn't approved the higher concentration yet.

Same thing Kobe Bryant use to do. I believe he was the first USA pro athlete to got to Germany

He’s back out with his helmet on! The lord may have answered our prayer
The lord gave him a shot in the a$$ in the locker room?
I said a prayer. I said “Dear lord, I don’t ask for much. Would you please allow Jordan Mason the football player to not be hurt just this once?”
Why do you hate all the players who do get hurt? Why not pray for every one of them?

But noooooo, Thibodeaux broke a bone and will miss a month, you selfish sonova

😉

Probably dislocated his shoulder, popped it back in, and got some cortisone.
I’m old enough to remember when Dalvin Cook balled out with a dislocated shoulder and we all talked about his harness.
I'm old enough to remember when Martin Riggs dislocated his shoulder popped it back in and was out on the job catching bad guys 30 minutes later.

Comes in handy when trapped underwater in a straight jacket.

Back in and just carried the ball. Coach told sideline reporter “he’s good to go”

He came off after the carry and appears to be working his shoulders trying to keep em loose

So, you're 10 years old?
What does "you're 10 years old" even mean?
Well, you see Dalvin Cook has been in the NFL for eight seasons, he dislocated his shoulder 2021, long term memory formation begins, roughly around five or six years old...let me know if you still aren't following.
Ok, still a stupid comment. Not sure what it had to do with the conversation.

C'mon Seahawks, cut into this margin.

You can tell by looking at Mason on the sidelines that he's rubbed some dirt on it, and wants back IN...

...oh, and I could really use him rushing for at least 7 more yards before he calls it a night.

I’m old enough to remember when Dwayne Wade dislocated his shoulder and needed a wheelchair to get back to the locker room. 😂

Even if Mason is good to go next week, it seems reasonable to conclude that his fantasy value has turned into a pumpkin (as we head towards Halloween). Guerendo was no great shakes until that last big run, but have to think he at least earned a piece of the backfield going forwards until (if) CMC returns. It's not like Mason is some superstar - he did a very nice job as a replacement, but he was also basically next man up in that backfield. Could be the dreaded RBBC going forward and unfortunately Mason does not hold much receiving chops to prop us his fantasy value.

Guerendo was mediocre most of the night. He had a big run, yeah. But I don’t see that single run changing anything if Mason is healthy next week.

Yeah, I agree. Gurendo had like like 23 yards on 8 or 9 carries before that last big run. When he and Taylor entered the game you could immediately tell that the SF offense slowed down immensely, requiring them to have to pass it most of the time. They were only getting like 1-3 yards on their carries (until the 76 yard scamper) - that's not even mediocre, IMO.

These guys won't have a piece of the backfield unless McCaffrey/Mason are out for injury, otherwise I expect it to be all Mason (until McCaffrey comes back).

Could be, but good luck getting into the mind of Shanahan.

Mason's real value is the "what if" that FF owners love to chase. Everyone's looking for "wow if he looks this good maybe they park CMc for the rest off the season. Then maybe CMc is toast with his foot and SFO needs to clear cap space. Then maybe Mason is the bellcow RB all by himself for 4 years in a Shanahan offense." What they forget to tell themselves is that that's the exact problem - it's a SHANAHAN offense. Next week, month, or pagan festival there's likely to be a different guy loading up his backpack for 20+ carries a game.

For me, or now, I'm holding and starting him but if someone offers me a 1st or probably even what looks like an early 2nd+ I'm moving him.

Sure. I agree mostly. However, my gut tells me McCaffrey is going to come back but won't last. I have no evidence to support this other than his (perceived) history and that I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.

IDK if Mason is a "superstar" but he leads the league with 114 carries and 609 yards, which is a 5.3 clip. He has 9 carries for 73 last night before getting hurt.

My biggest concern is the shoulder, not the idea that he will suddenly be in a timeshare backfield.

I think we have suggested for years that Shanahan needs to be smarter with workload management for his RBs. Even with talented guys behind CMC like Mitchell and Mason, it never happens.

My guess is like his Dad he thinks they are kind of disposable and he can always find another good one.
