Even if Mason is good to go next week, it seems reasonable to conclude that his fantasy value has turned into a pumpkin (as we head towards Halloween). Guerendo was no great shakes until that last big run, but have to think he at least earned a piece of the backfield going forwards until (if) CMC returns. It's not like Mason is some superstar - he did a very nice job as a replacement, but he was also basically next man up in that backfield. Could be the dreaded RBBC going forward and unfortunately Mason does not hold much receiving chops to prop us his fantasy value.
Guerendo was mediocre most of the night. He had a big run, yeah. But I don’t see that single run changing anything if Mason is healthy next week.
Yeah, I agree. Gurendo had like like 23 yards on 8 or 9 carries before that last big run. When he and Taylor entered the game you could immediately tell that the SF offense slowed down immensely, requiring them to have to pass it most of the time.
These guys won't have a piece of the backfield unless McCaffrey/Mason are out for injury, otherwise I expect it to be all Mason (until McCaffrey comes back).
