RB Kareem Hunt, KC (3 Viewers)

Lot of non-Hunt believers in the dynasty trade thread, barring injury, I expect him to be valued as a top 5-7 back in dynasty by the end of the season. I think Fournette will be the only rookie valued ahead of him and it will be because of pedigree. I like Cook and own him too, but think he's going to struggle at times on that offense. CMC will have his fans that rank him highly but i think his upside will be capped by Cam and short-term by Stewart. Mixon I think will have a lost season with too much competition, bad o'line and terrible offense and will be cheaper to acquire at the end of the season than he is now.

I wasn't able to pry Hunt away in one of my dynasty leagues :-( but traded up for him in another this past off-season. He also fell to me in redraft, I am hitched to this train for better or worse! As for today, Philly has a good run defense but has struggled against zone run schemes in the past, i would guess something like 16 carries for about 70 yards, 5 receptions for another 40 ish. Hopefully a TD but I feel like Kelce will get his today.

1 bad half and this goes from a new post every 5 minutes to no post for 5 hours. This band wagon is weak.

What about now?
I don't know, where are all the fan boys at? I am staying realistic about him, even if this would have been a bad game I wouldn't have down graded him, just like I wasn't ready to make him the next Priest Holmes after 1 game.

Probably hanging with the pot stirrers.

Can't wait for Waldman to tell us why he is JAG in the column this week.

That second TD was beastly running.  This kid could be THE RB1 this year fellas.

Steal of the draft.

Very surprised that he was only about 6% owned in Fanduel this week. I had him in all of my contests and he delivered 24.4 points for $7800, better than a 3x ROI.

He does look like a stud.  He salvaged the day nicely in the second half.  I'd still trade him for a more established elite wide receiver, but he solidified his value today without a doubt.  He belongs at the end of the first round or early in the second in a dynasty draft.

Prior to the injury Ware and Hunt were going to form some type of split. Hunt is now the bell cow and the split with West/Spiller will be minimal. IMO Hunt has everything you want in an RB except long speed. I see him as a Foster, Rice, E. Smith kind of RB.

Hunt will be gone by the 3rd round in most every draft moving forward.
As the president of the Kareem fan club it looks like I may be wrong, it looks like he also has long speed when it matters  :D . I will continue to try and find the RB's that are not underwear heroes at the combine but just have that "it" factor when playing RB in the NFL.

He sure doesn't seem very fast, but an interesting stat (posted in this thread I believe) was that in week 1 his top speed was actually faster than Tyreek Hill's. So he can definitely hit the gas when needed.

I think Hunt is awesome. At the same time, I am waiting to see him play a tougher D before anointing him the next Jim Brown. People are arguing that he should go 1.03 in redrafts if they were to draft today. I think maybe sell high if that's the case and you can get that value for a rookie RB who probably will hit a wall or regress to the mean a bit just because.

After two weeks Hunt is the highest scoring player in fantasy in most formats. So I agree you should be able to sell him for a high price, but what would be equitable enough return to make this worthwhile?

Trading Hunt at this point everything you get in return would be a downgrade.

Philly might just have the best front seven in football

Well in fairness, most people consider the Pats' D very strong heading into the season before KC annihilated them and Philly's D looked very good last week, before Hunt finally popped off that big TD run. And they were all over him on that second TD but it was a herculean effort on his part to get across the stripe.

The Eagles might have the best run defense in the NFL.

weird to see so many say things like this, or more frequently, "he did nothing in the first half" or "if not for the 53 yard run his day woulda sucked"

but that's what the feature backs do - they wear down a defense & pop a big run or hav a big second half.

with DJohnson out & Elliott struggling to gain a head of steam, and Bell off to a bit of a slow start, I can't imagine a RB you'd rather have.

screw selling high - I'm riding this pony in both my leagues - hopefully to the championships.

I have to say Matt Waldman blew this one in his predraft ranking.  His work is amazing but the whole time I was reading his Hunt write up I was thinking that he was going to exceed it. Then I drafted OJ Howard at 1.06 ?

Also, the Pats just held the Saints running game to 16-53, a tick over 3 ypc. Im not counting Ingrams 28 yard run to end the game, it was meaningless. Kareem and the Chiefs had a lot to do with the Pats D looking so bad.

Disagree as a Pats fan. The D is not great right now. They might get there but you can run on the Pats

I wouldn't argue with ROY or even RB1. That said in dynasty if I can get top 3 overall value for Hunt I'm making that deal.
Why isn't Hunt considered top 3 Dynasty though.

If he rattles off 3 more 100+ APY games with +/-4 more TDs over the next 3 weeks will that change your opinion?

just seems like y'all Dynasty guys are looking past Hunt because of past expectations rather than current reality.

I wouldn't give up Hunt for anyone right now. He's young; he's a rare feature back, and he's on a team that's made him the engine of their offense. Centerpiece RBs are rare. Centerpiece RBs on the Chiefs even more so, and historically they're the most productive players in the game.

Evans for Hunt? I'd reject that in a heartbeat. Hunt is my boo.
