RB Kenneth Walker III - SEA (2 Viewers)

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Ken Walker (hernia) will play in Week 2 against the 49ers.

"Kenny Walker is going to be out there this week for us to add to that," Petey said Tuesday, after his Seahawks pulled off a stunning upset of Russell Wilson and the Broncos. Walker's presence will certainly throw a wrench into Rashaad Penny's workload. Penny on Monday night accounted for 12 of the team's 13 running backs rushes, finishing with 60 yards. Penny will become a shaky flex option if Walker returns this week.

Ken Walker (hernia) is practicing in full ahead of Week 2 against the 49ers.

That puts Walker on track to make his NFL debut Sunday against the 49ers. Rashaad Penny was effective on his 12 carries against the Broncos, so it will be interesting to see how the Seahawks divvy up the snaps and carries between these two. Walker can't be trusted as a fantasy starter right now.

Ken Walker (hernia) was downgraded to "limited" for Thursday's practice.

We would guess this is part of a pre-planned maintenance routine after the rookie got in a full session on Wednesday. Although Rashaad Penny was a Week 1 disappointment in run-friendly game script, he retains a sizable FLEX lead on Walker for the time being. Walker can't yet be trusted in 12-team leagues.

Not sure we can trust Ken until he gets a few games in to see what the rotation will be. This could be lingering.

Ken Walker (hernia) was not listed on Seattle's final Week 2 injury report.

All signs point to him making his NFL debut against the 49ers. He'll probably be splitting snaps with Rashaad Penny to start, but has a good chance to make in-roads towards the snap share as the season drags on. Walker is a roster hold, but not necessarily someone you want to be starting in fantasy this week.

Ken Walker rushed four times for 10 yards in the Seahawks' Week 2 loss to the 49ers.

Walker's NFL debut was as quiet as it gets. He was out-carried 6-4 by Rashaad Penny and out-targeted 4-3 by Travis Homer. The Seahawks struggled on offense and were trailing throughout this game, leaving few carries to go around. Unfortunately, it looks like that should be the case for this team in most weeks. Walker is Seattle's long-term answer at running back, but Penny is entrenched as their lead option for now. Until the rookie supplants Penny, he can be left on the bench in fantasy leagues.

I was not able to watch any of this game, so I would be curious to hear from anyone who did in regard to Walker's three targets. The biggest knock on him has been his lack of pass-catching experience. While his three targets didn't yield much of anything, I would be interested to know if he was intentionally targeted at all, or if these were simply dump-offs that didn't go anywhere.

Ken Walker rushed three times for 19 yards in the Seahawks' Week 3 loss to the Falcons, adding three receptions for 14 additional yards.

Walker was a rather distant No. 2 back in a three-man committee. He was out-carried 14-3 by Rashaad Penny and watched DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer handle most of the third downs. Homer was knocked out with a rib issue. We know Walker has explosive play-making ability, but the Seahawks have a carries logjam between their rookie and Penny, and it's not surprising Penny is receiving preference for now. It's a long season, of course, while Penny has a lengthy injury history.

Projections as to how long we wait for him to take on a 3 down roll? Does he take over the 2 down roll now with deejay and Homer as 3rd down rbs.
Or is he stuck in 3 way split?

I was big fan of him at msu. *not a fan of msu.

I am interested in this as well. How did he look after Penny went down? Do we expect big things from him out of the gate?

Personally, I think he's Dameon Pierce in a way better offense. He'll come off the field in some passing sets, but I'm expecting 15+ touches weekly. I don't see anyone taking as much work from him, as he was taking from Penny. With how this offense has played, and with Walker's talent (I personally thought he was the best RB to come out since Barkley) I think low-end RB1 isn't an unreasonable expectation.

I don't see a huge difference between him and someone like Joe Mixon.

As an MSU fan, I also thought he was the best RB coming out. I expect mid-RB2 production as his floor.
He actually catches better than most people think. It just wasn't something he was asked to do at MSU.

Seahawk fan. Echo what was mentioned earlier, he will be mid range RB2 floor. Pete loves the kid, and has no one behind him unlike what Penny had with Ken. I drafted Penny and one of my league mates drafted him before I had the chance - he then dropped him after week 2....paid a hefty price to get him, glad I did now.

Agreed all around. Kid has incredible 2nd level burst, that TD showed it.
Go Green!

Good news is I got Walker on waivers in one of my leagues. Bad news is it's the league where I least need him (start 2 RBs, no flex, and I already have Chubb and Hall).

I'd love to trade him for one of the Big Two TEs, but I suspect that's not happening. Could also try to package him and Brady for a QB upgrade. But I'll most likely hold him and see how things play out

I was offered Walker for D. Pierce. I like Walker, but Pierce is more proven, so far.
Should I take this or counter for an upgrade at WR?

Maybe try and get Walker plus another piece. Those deals can often happen if the other person offered first. Either they really think they are selling high on Walker, or they really want Pierce. Maybe ask for a WR3 in addition to Walker.

So what are we thinking about Walker this week? I was lucky to get him off waivers this week and he appears to have the job as his own so i'm surprised there isn't a bit more chatter. Looks a tough matchup unfortunately and could be a bit of a passing fest, but with how Seattle have been moving the ball this season, surely some scoring opportunities for Walker (and Benjamin) this week?

I'd consider Walker a high-end RB2, with upside for more, if Seattle doesn't get behind right away, which is a real resistible force vs moveable object between how bad Seattle's D is, and how bad Arizona's 1st quarter offense has been.

Ken Walker rushed 21 times for 97 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' Week 6 win over the Cardinals.

Walker looked impressive as a runner, especially on his 11-yard touchdown run. He set up Cardinals corner Byron Murphy with a stutter-step before breaking for the end zone. Most importantly, Walker out-carried DeeJay Dallas 21-2. He also saw three targets, two of which he secured for a total of 13 yards. Dallas was not targeted. The Seattle offense struggled in this game, but Walker was a three-down back and played well. He could push for RB1 numbers in his Week 7 against the Saints.

Ken Walker rushed 23 times for 168 yards and two touchdowns in the Seahawks' Week 7 win over the Chargers.

Walker wasn't targeted in the passing game but did more than enough as a punishing runner, scoring a 12-yard touchdown in the first quarter before grinding the Chargers down and then ripping off a 74-yard score in the fourth frame. In two games since Rashaad Penny's season-ending injury, Walker has posted 21/97/1 and 23/168/2 rushing efforts as a locked-in every-week RB1 ahead of a Week 8 home date with the Giants.

He looks fantastic. This year I think we were set to see the next generation of star NFL RBs take over the league with Walker, Breece, Javonte, ETN and Swift.

In Walker's case specifically, I think if Metcalf is out for an extended period, Walker is going to be the centerpiece of the offense, Lynch style. Like, top-5 RB is very much on the table.

Very impressed with ETN too. He's another guy where centerpiece of the offense seems to be what's happening.

If he gets the shot next year (or maybe this year) I think Stevenson might be a guy on that level too.

For sure. KW’s stop start ability is ridiculous, also has the top end speed to run away from dudes. He’s so fun to watch.

Before the draft I questioned Walker’s value in SEA, and whether his ability would translate to the NFL.

Wow did he blow me away today. Just watched highlights & the kid is electric.’

I still don’t know how the Seattle offense is doing what it’s doing, but Carroll is a wizard.

Very salty that I drafted penny and not him due to the hernia. Can’t shake how bad I feel about taking obvious picks but I don’t pull the trigger. No metcalf (maybe) is a massive hit to the offense .

Chargers are a flat out laughing stock on D without bosa

Its funny because EVERYONE knew watching last year that LAC will remain a joke until they can stop the run....but we get another year of defensive ineptitude.

I was thinking after yesterday especially, could be a good time to sell and really upgrade since LAC are so bad on D, maybe try to get one of the top TEs in a package or something. Then again, would it be selling a bit too soon or a bit short? I mean after watching the highlights, this was no ordinary day, he was ripping off 10+ yard runs pretty regularly aside from the big TD run. Also fair to say, outside of Chubb, Saquon and Jacobs, there aren't too many productive workhorse type backs out there.

Same, I pretty much only won because of this guy and luckily sticking with Benjamin. Most of my team were on a BYE, started Mariota and Pitts, you get the idea.

The guy with the #2 pick in my league made an awful trade with the guy who has been the most successful in the league, and the 2nd guy started Walker against him this week. I wonder what he thinks now.

So, is this guy the Dynasty RB1 now by default?

I wonder who it'll be next week :ponder:
It’s insane but you are so spot on- the top rbs shift so quickly. The consensus top 10 has probably shifted more in the last six weeks than ever before- between the catastrophic injuries, trades, odd usage patterns, and coaching decisions- who knows where guys will land.

you know hes good when he has a pretty crappy game but still manages to get something at the end to make it good. guy is great
