RB Kenneth Walker III - SEA (1 Viewer)

Benching him was a HUGE mistake on my part
I started him everywhere. Once they gave the all-clear on Friday that was all I needed.

For me it was facing the league’s best run defense and coming off a multi-week injury. I knew he had a 2-TD game against them last year but I ignored it. I knew better and yet I didn’t. As the saying goes, “Never bench your studs.”
The trick is knowing who your studs really are for the current season. Some would think Andrews is a "stud" but in 2024, he is clearly not.

“I’ve never seen an athletic profile like that… He’s special, man. He’s growing every day, he’s getting better, and it’s scary what his top end’s looking like.”
Welcome to the party mr grubb. A lot of us saw this before he was in the NFL.
It's still amazing to me how many people failed the eye test between him and Charbonnet. That is why some people are good at fantasy football and others are not in a nut shell.

Agree. Charb has improved from last year but you could tell by watching walker was a diff animal compared to charb. Charb just looked slower to me. Grabbed walker wherever i could in the 4th

I remember the debate between Walker and Charbonet last year like it was yesterday.
How Charbonet did this or that better. How he wasn't drafted just to be the backup.

Or how I was called out for saying Walker is one of the best RB's in football.

Good times.

Because Walker is very very good does not mean Charbs is bad.

Side note, if you don't have Charbs as a cuff this might be the time to go acquire him.

Might need to wait a week or 2 if you don't own him. The charbs owner most likely is waiting for another injury to KW. With each week that passes and he's healthy, the price goes down.

Charbonet was a must draft handcuff to Walker.

Personally, I've never said that. I've just always felt Walker was far better.

I see it in every RB thread. Not saying it was you but it happens. Whoever someone drafts or trades for the other RB on the depth chart instantly sucks. It is fine that you believe in a player and it is fun to cheer for that player and see them succeed but too many times they try to rationalize it with saying the other RB sucks and is no good.

Charbs is a good player and was drafted in the 2nd round. He does some good things and will likely vulture some touches over the years. He's a good back-up. He can give Walker a breather and the team still does well. Charbs can catch passes which helps on passing downs. Walker is the starter but Charbs is a perfect back-up.

Walker also gets injured a lot so at some point Charbs is going to get another start. That is how it goes in the RB world.

I leave it with this thought - in fantasy football you can't be 100% out on a player or you will miss on those that hit. For example Bigsby and Roschon were not useable at all last year. 2nd year they are starting to get burn and show that maybe they have a chance. Charbs could also keep getting better - that's sort of the natural progress that good players take through their career.

Don't totally write-off Charbs, Not saying he is as good as Walker but he still could be a good RB in the NFL if he keeps improving.

He reminds me of Fred Taylor.

Not his game or his style or build, but when Fred Taylor joined the league, he just looked soo good, fast, strong and athletic, and when he was injured in his early days, I remember thinking that the human bones/tendons etc. that hold us together weren't meant for that kind of performance. Like a Ferrarri always in the shop.

Walker looks like that. The speed and strength and torque, I am ready to believe his human cartilage and tendons cannot keep up with what his muscles are capable of.

Guy probably east 3 Filet-O-Fish a day, and has 6 pack abs.

Jim Brown once said (around 2000 or so) he thought Fred Taylor was the best pure runner he'd seen since he retired.

My thought exactly. The guy that has him in my league won't let him go cheaply but hopefully over time bye-weeks and injuries to his team MAY inspire him to relinquish him.

Did not have a good day on the ground as did the whole Seattle offense. Salvaged it with 7 catches for 57 yards though.

Short week against an extra rested team appeared to be too much. Should get back to it next week.

Giants ouplayed them in three phases so non excuses. But I will say, weird game, giants had a long drive "fumbled" into the end zone, was picked up and up returned for a TD, got right back out for a long drive. Walker had like 3 carries for the longest time. Should have tried feeding him to get on scheduled, looked like the giants were all over everything Geno did passing wise, very effective blitzing. So a bit of a weird game

Sure seems like all or nothing with this guy. Santana Moss of RBs

Horrible comparison.

But I do fear nyg may have shown how to slow down Seattle o.
Why? They’re both high variance players with high ceilings and basement level floors. Seems like a fair comparison at this stage.
19, 33, 14.
Huh?
Sorry, don’t play PPR. 55% of his points through 5 weeks came in 1 week. This pattern isn’t all that dissimilar from the guy I owned since his rookie year. 🤷🏻‍♂️

majority of leagues are ppr, and you can't actually be counting the weeks he was out to show that he is a high variance player lol

5 weeks or 3, he still produced 55% of his total points in one week. He is a high variance player, review his game logs from season 1 and 2. I’m not even sure why you’re arguing.

ETA lol

19, 33, 14 is not that crazy variance at all.

Anyways.

The game was terrible for Seattle.
However, as a Walker owner, you had to be thrilled to see who was catching those balls out of the backfield.

How do you make that leap? :bored: I believe he's a great RB. He has been very up and down, even more so since they drafted Charbonnet. Look at his game log last season and let me know if you disagree.

Walker's a great player to have, you just have to understand what he is and pair him with more consistent options to get the most out of your team. 🤷‍♂️

Honestly, I think from a future projection standpoint, this game was more encouraging than his 3-TD game. This game showed his absolute floor, and he still had 14 PPR points. Its not crazy to think Walker could be the #1 overall RB (with a top-6 floor) if (big if) he stays healthy.

The MAIN argument from the Charbonet crowd was he was the preferred passing down back. That Walker wasn't a good receiver.

Looks like Walker may in fact be a true three down back going forward.

Kenneth Walker is going to blow away his career marks in receiving this season, backing up all of the offseason talk from the staff.

Huge change for his weekly floor vs previous seasons.

There are not many RBs I would have over him ROS and RB1 ROS is in his range of outcomes.

He should have also got a carry right before the half. Instead Seattle chose to throw it three times.

Was also missed on a deep pass route.

They had about 15 seconds left and no timeouts. If he got stuffed they would’ve came away with no points

There is time to get a spike or another play (if its already called) off in that scenario. Everyone is right there, and if SF holds the RB, they'll get called for delay of game, and you'll get an untimed down.

Let me clarify, I am saying this as a positive. That, despite posting a good score, it could have been better. Could have been 3 TD's.

Yea hopefully he goes but always something this year.

Eta: looks like the rumor is it's a birthday hangover from Friday night. He better be good to go tomorrow.
