RB Keontay Ingram KC (2 Viewers)

Smack Tripper

Footballguy
I remember hearing buzz about him years ago but didn't do much with it, anything to see here?

I took him for free after Steele and Hunt went (Perine already rostered)

Probably a low possibility he is relevant, but you never know. At least an end-of-bench guy for now. You can always drop him for another dart throw.

Ya I picked him up for free. Just never know about these things. He was pretty good for AZ.
No he was not lol

He averaged like 2 ypc on 60ish carries
2.2 YPC to be exact.

But, as bolldpt hinted at... he actually LOOKED pretty good for the Cards in spells. In the KC offense? Could be explosive. As I've said elsewhere, Steele is a glorified fullback and Perine is a pass catcher in the McKinnon mold. If they could find a guy to actually carry the ball 12-15 times a game AND catch the ball? That would be significant.

I picked him up but he's lousy. He's a Waldman guy, but we can agree to disagree with Matt W. on this one. But I picked him up regardless because it's the KC freaking offense and even though they don't even come close to moving the ball like they used to, it's maybe a starting RB in the NFL, and you don't sneeze at those out of disgust.

I recall thinking his film was quite good for a 6th round pick. He was one of my sleepers in that 2022 class.

This is a pretty interesting backfield with Pacheco out of the way. I thought Ingram and Perine had some talent in college.

And then there's Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Just when I thought I was out, he pulls me back in.

Whoever wins this job could be a solid weekly play.

I'm having flashbacks to Spencer Ware, a prospect I liked out of LSU who KC claimed off the scrap heap. He had a good stopgap season there in 2016.

They might be on this board somewhere, but I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on Carson Steele.

Steele wasn't on my radar at all, as he was undrafted and I haven't looked at any UDFAs yet.

Took a quick look at some highlights from preseason and UCLA.

Very aggressive runner. Gets north-south and runs hard. Can catch the ball out of the backfield.

Looks limited from a cuts, agility, and explosiveness standpoint.

My guess is that he was signed partially for the special teams value. Purely as a RB talent, I think I like the other options more.

Comparison for Steele might be Jarryd Hayne, the rugby player who was on the 49ers for a little while.

People will dream of a Peyton Hillis type of season, but I would be surprised if he wins this job and has any lasting relevance.

Right! He hit holes hard but that OL sucked bad that year
He does hit the holes hard, kinda reminds be a bit of Pacheco with his hard running style. Looks like he's shot out of a cannon sometimes. Curious to see if he has improved his game - could be a good fit here if he gets teh chance.
