Veteran tailback Ladell Betts has been released by the New Orleans Saints, his agent Tony Agnone confirmed. Betts played well in the preseason finale at Tennessee on Thursday night, but apparently the Saints didn't feel like he was far enough along in his recovery from knee surgery.That could bode well for the injury news on rookie tailback Chris Ivory, who left Thursday's game with a knee injury. And it could bode well for the status of roster hopeful DeShaw Wynn, though the Saints will certainly keep an eye on backs who get cut around the league this weekend.The Saints haven't confirmed any roster decisions yet, but Coach Sean Payton is expected to speak to the media around 2:15 or 2:3

Not a surprise. This will be good news for Chris Ivory supporters more than anything.

We still need to see the reports on Ivory's injury, otherwise this could be news for Deshawn Wynn. Either way, it's further evidence New Orleans is going to give Bush and Thomas every chance to up their workloads.
