RB Raheim “Rocket” Sanders, CLE (1 Viewer)

Jacob Infante
Too many people have forgotten about Raheim Sanders in this loaded 2025 draft class of RBs.

They call him “Rocket” for a reason — he’s a big dude who runs hard and fast. His 2022 tape looked awesome, and he might be getting back to that level now.

Arkansas transfer, RB Raheim “Rocket” Sanders (6004v, 241v) @raheim_sanders, appears to be the bell-cow of the South Carolina offense in 2024. Injuries set him back last year but in 2022 he rushed for 1,443 yards and was a first team all SEC selection. This is a big and physical back that is very efficient between the tackles. #TheDraftStartsInMOBILE

he was very good at Arkansas early in his career
Raheim Sanders star faded and he was a highly ranked RB prospect a couple of years ago and has been injured a lot with knee, ankle, and shoulder injuries. He transferred from Arkansas to South Carolina and had a little bit of resurgence in 2024 with 881 yards / 11 TDs / 4.8 average. His best games were against Texas A&M and LSU. The Texas A&M game he had 20/144/2, with 5 receptions 92 yards. The LSU game he had 19//143/2. His worst games running the ball were against Clemson (18/60/0), Missouri (19/53/0), ODU (24//88/1), and Oklahoma (15/33/1). Against Arkansas he only had 1 carry (did he get hurt?).

Interested to see how he tests at the Combine. I have him in a Devy league and while I know it's a loaded RB class, I'm thinking he may have an outside shot at being one of the better fantasy backs.

That is Akron, it was a blowout.

The shovel pass against Mizzou was my favorite play of his this year.

Yet another RB to fall in love with from the 2025 #NFLDraft class:

Raheim Sanders
2022 - Massively productive (1.4k scrimmage yards)
2023 - Injuries
2024 - Comeback player of the year

Love the vision and tempo. Active feet always setting angles up, and enough burst to take advantage 🚀

Oh, and he's 6'0" + 220 lbs

Love the feel for space and attention to detail that Raheim Sanders displays as a runner.

So fun to watch him manipulate defenses from a top-down angle.

Burst is great.

Pair burst with patience, and we are cooking.

Raheim Sanders is never in a hurry.

Some call him "Rocket."

When Raheim Sanders does decide to hurry, best watch out. Legit burst at 220 pounds.

Raheim Sanders - patient but with ever-active feet

He takes up only the space necessary

I had hopes for this guy making a day 3 entry to the NFL in a good situation. But that depth chard ahead of him is beyond challenging. Not sure he evens makes their PS but lets see.

I'm bumping because I thought of him with Najee's eye now a concern. If Najee for whatever reason were not able to play or got a late start in the offense then Raheim stands to benefit. Right now you've got Harris, Hampton, Vidal, Haskins, and Sanders (off of the top of my head). I'm not sure they'll keep more than three on the roster in the regular season, though with Roman as OC it might be a good idea.

I don't know. Just bumping this for speculation and thoughts. I roster him right now and would like to hold because I love his athleticism and frankly, his highlights as a back. We'll see if it ever comes to fruition and he's got some stiff comp on his own team, but we will see.

It makes me wonder about a bigger question: how do NFL teams have bad running back rooms? I mean, look at the freaking Texans. KC. I guess four potential RB studs or starters doesn't equal a top-flight QB in the end.

The most overlooked RB amid a ridiculously deep 2025 rookie class:

Los Angeles Chargers UDFA
Raheim "Rocket" Sanders

Jeff Mueller, PT, DPT
I’m not convinced that Kimani Vidal has the RB2 role locked down, and still believe Raheim Sanders can push him (if Najee Harris misses time into the regular season, which is tracking that way so far)

He looked pretty impressive in the highlights I can access. The only thing is that I think Haskins plays special teams and Vidal is supposedly markedly improved, so you've still got five backs vying for a maximum of four spots, if not three spots.

Hampton, Harris (PUP?), Vidal, Haskins (special teams), Sanders

Sanders is a good dynasty stash but is probably destined for the practice squad if/when Najee comes back (if Najee even starts on PUP). That's my guess. Still nice to see professional-type life out of Sanders.

This is the best news possible for Sanders, he would be buried on this team. Hopefully a RB needy team like Dallas grabs him.

You know what? I roster this guy so this might sound too personal, but I can drop him easy peasy so this doesn't come from anything but confusion. If he was so well-known and dominant as a sophomore and people were considering him a legitimate NFL-type back, what happened once he got healthy again? Why was one year pretty much absent and then one subsequent but less dominant year after that one so held against him to the point he can't even make a club? It's not like he's a mathematician who decided to only do Calc I problems from high school on and then wants to get a job solving the problems preventing us from time travel.

The guy runs with rubber tucked under his arm! What exactly did he need to do to get picked or considered?! He tested awesomely at the Combine and ruled preseason. I get that Haskins makes the club for his special teams, which I guess coaches with that coach roach up their *** love so dearly. "Oh wow! That guy runs in a straight tine and throws his body through an oak tree! I love that guy!"

But if he was seriously tabbed to be a pro, then what happened? Nary a whiff of problematic attitude. No playbook issues. Looked like he picked up the blitz fine in preseason and knew where to be. I just don't get it. I'd love to have somebody explain it to me, but I don't think I'd hear too many legit explanations. Anyway, I hope the young man is smart and has already been in touch with Houston and Dallas. It would behoove him to do so.

Mods and @FBG Moderator: I think this guy has two threads. He’s good enough to get claimed off waivers by a team in the RB news and it’s directly relevant to a national story. Please merge the two threads if there are two.
