RB Rico Dowdle, CAR (5 Viewers)

Can’t believe the coaches had to debate this decision. Watching it live today at Lambeau, every time Rico was in the game the offense looked dangerous. He is so quick and elusive. Chuba looked like he was running in quicksand by comparison.

I will never be influenced by anyone else's opinion on who to start in fantasy football ever again! Lesson learned, the hard way.

I say the same thing but in analyzing all the info out there I made what I thought, at the time, was a logical choice not to start him. This of course has changed now as it is clear the split looks like it will be +75% touches going forward. I didn't believe it would be 50-50 but maybe a 60-40 split. A GB team rated 3rd in the league against RB's was enough to scare me away especially after Buffalo put a beat down on them capping his yards the week before. I had 5 different choices to put into flex all of them within a point or two. Rico was 4th or 5th in consideration.

Traded Dowdle away in 2 dynasty leagues this offseason because I was "stacked" at RB and would "never play him"

Let this be a lesson learned for everyone never think you will ever Never play someone I could used those 28 pts yeterday.

I got a 3rd round pick in a FFPC league because I had to cut down to 14 position players so it only made sense to send him to the hubbard owner I thought a 2026 3rd was actually a good deal.

In my other though I offered him to the Hubbard owner a bunch of times during the rookie draft I started by asking for a 3rd rejected then a 4th rejected then a 5th rejected.

Finally I offered him for the 6.03 and 7.03 and I put in the offer a comment saying "this is your last chance" and sadly he accepted.

I wanted that 6.03 to take JCM but and when I made the trade the 6.01 was OTC and he took JCM so I was like well I do have Swift so I will take Monangai but then he went 6.02.

Brutal all the way around

Amazed at what this guy is doing.

Prior to this game, the GB D was considered one of the best. Rico was just ripping through there.

CAR is sooo determined to run the ball too and actually is in the playoff hunt.

Seriously...how many RBs would you rather have ROS ahead of Rico?

Waiver pickup of the year if this continues.

Also amazing that Dallas let him go and even more to a one year deal for 2.75 base. He can go over 6 with incentives.

Valid question. Always allowing for him slowing down some, getting dinged or teams simply selling out against the run (maybe they already are? I don't see many Panthers games)

Definitely prefer - Robinson, Taylor, McCaffrey, Jacobs, Cook
Maybe prefer - Gibbs, Barkley, Achane

That's about it, all subjective. Maybe 5-8 backs ahead of him, not bad for a free pick up in most redraft leagues.

Rico Dowdle is 3rd in the NFL in rushing. His career path is unlike any I've seen at the RB position:

- Was South Carolina's 2nd-leading rusher his final season in 2019 behind Tavien Feaster
- UDFA in 2020
- 7 total carries his first 3 seasons in the NFL
- Didn't start a game until his 5th season
- Is the 33rd-highest paid RB in the NFL (1-year, $2.75m) despite going for over 1,000 yards last season
