RB Sean Tucker, TB (22 Viewers)

Okay, bad news, he was on my bench in both leagues. Good news, I was able to sneak him back on to my dynasty roster ahead of this.

What changes this time around from a dynasty perspective? If Tampa puts this back in the bottle AGAIN as soon as Bucky is healthy, we have him on RFA status. Is it unreasonable to think that a performance like this leads to another team targeting him in free agency with a role and a price tag that Tampa isn't going to match if they prioritize White and want to keep him in an rb3 dungeon?

White is on the last year of his rookie deal, not sure where Tucker is at but it appears from other posts that he's also about to enter free agency
It woulda been wise for the Bucs to extend him on the cheap, I'd let White go and keep Tucker, draft another RB in the 3rd-4th-5th round next year and have 3 solid options at all times
You have Baker and I do think he's better than I gave him credit for but I also believe he needs things around him in order to be successful
Not just WRs and TEs to throw the ball to but RBs that can explode on screens and short passes in space.
Also it helps Baker when the Bucs have the lead and can lean on the running game

-Bucs have some holes on defense right now but their offense has clicked even without their starting WR1, WR2 and RB1 for most of the season
Baker deserves a lot of credit with a patchwork right side of the OL

I would take this as a Tucker manager. Rachaad White level of volume even if not the exact same role. There's a lot to like about the Tampa offense over a mystery team. If the mystery team is going to make him a feature back and let him cook, that's a different story. But I'm not sure that's realistic since I can't point to the team that's signing up for that this offseason. Realistically, a split role or a "preferred backup" role might be more likely. If the latter, no better place to do it than the Bucs if they're willing to let White walk.

I don't know if it's his shoulder pads or running style, but he looks thicker running the ball than 205 lbs indicate. He was also getting a fair share of looks at the goal line over White. I do worry about whether the Bucs would be willing to go with a duo that small without bringing a third wheel into the mix. However, maybe a 4th or 5th round thumper is enough to bridge the gap while still keeping Tucker's role attractive for fantasy.

Seriously, I don't see a ton of difference between Sean Tucker and Jahmyr Gibbs beyond situation and opportunity. Bucs very obviously don't agree with my eye test and I accept that reality, though I do have hope for change there at some point.

Sean Tucker's best hope for RB1 status next season is to go to a team with an ambiguous RB room, much like Javonte Williams did with the Cowboys. He's unlikely to be on top of any depth chart unless Bucky Irving suffers a catastrophic injury and the Bucs retain Tucker. He lacks the sample size and Draft pedigree to get a more secure role right off the bat. Looking at the FA class for 2026 there's Breece Hall, Kenneth Walker, Travis Etienne, Rico Dowdle, Javonte Williams, and his Bucs teammate Rachaad White to contend with. Tucker is absolutely still worth stashing in case he gets more opportunity to shine.

Tucker has a high BMI due to his height/weight ratio. He's 205 lbs. of muscle in a 5'10' frame. So he's thick despite not being heavier than classic thumpers like Shaun Alexander.

In defense of Tucker, his draft capital would have been higher if not for the heart condition.

100%. He was projected to be a future Day 1-2 pick after his breakout sophomore season. Had a bit of a down year his junior season but still considered a late Day 2 prospect until the diagnosis came out. I've had that discussion many times with people who overlooked that detail the past couple of years when talking about Tucker as a prospect.

If Irving is out again, who's starting him on the road vs the Rams this week?
I felt confident rolling with Tucker last week since the Bills defense conceded 5th most fantasy points per game to RBs on the season (now 2nd most after Week 11). Much different story with the Rams, who have conceded the 3rd fewest per game (only the Patriots and Lions have fewer), and I imagine much of that has to do with opponents playing catchup and abandoning the run. As big a fan of Tucker as I am, this is not an ideal matchup for him. Worth a shot as a flex but probably not over more established names.

Just won him in waivers. Party's over. You've been warned.
Will that elation be short lived if Irving returns soon? I hear he is practicing.
I don't think that was elation.
Oh I don't know about that. I'm not buying the "you've been warned" comment. I'm pretty sure he is happy about getting Tucker off waivers.
It came across to me as “I just won Tucker on waivers but because I have bad luck, Tucker’s value is about to tank.” Hence, party over. Makes no mention of Irving in his post so I’m left to assume he means the party is over for Tucker. I’m sure @tkrull2.0 could confirm as such.

Hate the matchup but Tucker proved useful in the passing game in such a bad game script. He won’t have the rushing lanes nor will the team probably be in position to run the ball as much. Rams are favored by 7 and probably will climb

If Irving is out, is White the preferred passing down back?

I understood his post and interepted it the same as you, but in reality I'm sure he was very happy getting Tucker regardless of the noise. I suppose midnight could strike at any moment for Tucker if Irving comes back, but no one really knows when exactly that will happen.

Nobody bid on Tucker in my league. It's because nobody wanted to over-bid without knowing exactly when Irving will come back.
Since I own Irving, at 5am this morning I got Tucker for free.
I have other options, so if Irving comes back I want to see him take hits in a full game. If Irving is out, I want to see if Tucker has truly overtaken White.

Actually, not all that happy. A road game against the Rams is a crappy matchup. Tucker covers my forlorn hope of having Irving available for a Sunday night game. So I'll have a body for my flex.

The play this week is White in comeback/garbage mode.

Buccaneers OC Josh Grizzard said Sean Tucker’s workload has been going up each week as he continues to do well, and he “expects that to continue.”

Coach speak. He turns back into a pumpkin once Irving is back.

I don't know man. I'm reading some weird stuff out there about Bucky.
The most recent one (just now), from Mike Florio. Go look it up.

Anyway, if you are a Bucky owner and you have Tucker, do NOT let go of Tucker.

Of course you roster Tucker if you’re an Irving owner. I thought that was understood.

Traded for Bucky in dynasty and got about 2 weeks out of him before he went down. Luckily I’m 8-3 all these weeks later and after trying to chase White off of his owner unsuccessfully for a few months, I’ve just snagged Tucker as an insurance policy.

Paid Jalen Coker and a ‘26th 4th.

You paid chump change. Good job.

Yeah I mean I really liked Coker last year, he was a waiver wire add mid season and had a good run, but that injury to start the season has been a bit of a killer where Lagette has improved somewhat, and adding in McMillan being drafted, he’s really a 3rd option WR at best. I’m a bit light on WR depth ( only 6 now but they are a strong 6 ), but I really like the look of Tucker as a player on top of the added security being a Bucky owner. If someone is going to emerge as the guy going forward it’s back to Bucky or changing to Tucker. White is just not it and a FA after this season I think.

Tucker owners on a rollercoaster right now.

On top of the world Sunday. Bummed early in the week and borderline dropable with Irving practicing. Now, Florio having everyone go in the opposite direction.

Wait, this is what @steelwind was referring to? "This doesn't seem good to me"?

I scoured Florio’s twitter for the past 24 hours and that’s all I could find.

No.
I’ll find it.

Not sure where i saw it but floria tweeted something about some inside information he heard in Philadelphia about Irving's injury that was very concerning. That was it. No specifics. No details. Just that he heard some inside info.

I believe a link is in the Irving thread

ETA: Here's the quote from that thread

Florio: "I'm not so sure Bucky Irving's going to be back this weekend based on something I heard when we were in Philadelphia. I'll tell you off air what I heard. I want to be careful. It underscores the very real existence of inside information. It's something that probably shouldn't be out, but I don't think he's gonna be back anytime soon. It definitely is more information than what's available in the injury report."

Sheesh. Hold onto your Tuckers.

Something about mental health related. What a soap opera this is. Who knows
What?

That's a new one.

Says who?
He lost someone close to him right around the same time he got hurt. Word is he was already struggling a bit mentally. Speculation is that’s why he wasn’t put on IR so he could be more involved with team activities.

Everyone remembers that Bucky Irving was RB7 (PPR PPG) after he started getting 50+% of snaps last year (Week 12), but did you know Rachaad White was RB20 during that span? Now look at the Bucs remaining schedule.

You're probably underestimating Tucker's ROS value
Except they play the Rams this week although it would appear like Tucker will be the RB1 this weekend
Won't look anything like last week vs the Bills
