RB Sony Michel (1 Viewer)

Yeah... I'm pretty sure you did.

Patriots play "dynasty" too. ?
You can quote me in saying that? Because, no I never said that. In fact if you knew me as a poster at all you'd know I dislike the patriots quite a bit and wouldn't call them the best dynasty ever, or whatever you claimed I said. And yes, it's very possible they wasted their 1st round pick on JAG. Seattle did.

For the record, before Michel, the last 3 first round draft picks they made were unspecial, ill-fated, "just guys"

One isn't on the team any more, the second is a FA after this yea rafter they declined his 5th year option, and the third is on IR. Their record is not terribly good

Look I get it, you're one of those seasonal guys who pops in here every now and then, that's fine. You missed a lot of conversation earlier this summer where we went over a lot of his pros and cons. I understand, you own him and you're probably all in on this guy. He will give you a decent short term investment with the volume, but I just don't see him holding up long term. While Waldman may be a pretty good judge of talent, I'm a pretty good judge of health concerns, and so far this year I've had far more hits than misses... You don't like what I have to say, and that's fine, doesn't make it less true, especially from a medical perspective

My bad. I thought you were just floating some devaluing stinkbait out there.  Now I clearly see that you're a passive aggressive dynasty snob.

"Look I get it"... hilarious.

I can never tell if these takes are serious... or just floating noise out there because other guys in your league (Michel Owners) may be monitoring and a trade attempt is being set up.

The dude has missed so much time, probably still not 100% healthy (GTD Sunday night), been available for 3 weeks really... 316 yds and 4 TDs

Special enough? That long TD run in week 5 was pretty awesome.
I am the Sony owner in my leauge and I am totally serious. Those holes he is running through are huge. He's doing a good job, I gave him a B. You think he's more on the Gurley, Kamara, Saquon A level?

Discussing a player's dynasty vs redraft value is very significant. Especially for a guy with some medical issues. While Michel is in a great opportunity to for 2018, that opportunity may change significantly in 2019 when more RBs are healthy, especially if he can't take the bulk of the carries without having problems himself. NE consistently uses a RBBC, and combined they post very high RB1 numbers. Picking the right guy can be maddening sometimes, however one typically has a higher chance to get the bulk of the carries.

Michel in 2018 is interesting. I wouldn't be selling or buying him. If I had him I'd be satisfied, but I'm still concerned about his knee- especially long term. He is getting major volume and we can say that only about a certain number of RBs in the league.

If I had him in dynasty I'd probably look to sell at some point, largely due to medical concerns, but also that entire franchise is going to have a huge turn over, and at that point what can any of us expect that offense to look like? I am not sure I'd sell him this year because I'm not sure his value is at an all time high. Maybe next off-season. But I'd largely avoid that entire offense just because no one knows at all what it'll look like in 2019 or 2020. They could have a complete meltdown and Michel becomes the next Drake.

Let's not get off track or anything......?

Pretty good talent - pretty good situation - pretty easy to acquire.

So he outperforms his ADP OR you got him on waivers early on.  Great results so far.

Injury to RB's is always a concern so I am not mad if he loses a short yardage carry here or there and does not get used outside of his comfort zone.  As a rookie I would assume the team needs to pace the player to keep him fresh.

I want him being a healthy starter when I am in the playoffs.

Is he easy to acquire? I haven't tried to buy or sell so I don't know but it would seem to me he should be pretty highly valued.

His playoff schedule is not terribly favorable. As bad as Buffalo is, their defense isn't that bad. They also have PIT during the semis, who has been very good against the run.

According to FBG NE RBs have a middle of the road SOS for fantasy playoffs.

Probably should have said "WAS easy to aquire" i.e. the situation wsa cloudy week one and I picked up him and Penny with late spots for the same reason.

I doubt most owners would pay my price for him now.  I'd want a pretty strong WR for him right now.

Yep. I really wanted him in redraft but his ADP was up in the Penny range and it was too rich. Then the knee surgery happened and he became a wonderful value IMO. Now, he is a locked in top 10 RB ROS and given the RB landscape, that is a major value. The fall off after guys like him and Mixon is steep.

Right now he is a solid start against any team unless you are unusually strong at RB.  I like to  to manage with fewer positions to mull over and get cute.

I have him in one dynasty league and there has been a ton of interest in him, but I wouldn't call any of them serious offers that would tempt me. Stuff like Howard or Penny plus pieces. WR2/3's plus late 1st's, etc.

I would wet myself laughing so hard if someone made me those offers.

Yeah that's ridiculous.

"Here, take my rookie that hasn't done anything in the NFL yet for your rookie that has."

Yeah, no. He's a top ten RB in redraft this year. Don't know about dynasty concerns and injury, but just...that offer has to be sweeter.
SO much sweeter. I know he is a little TD dependent but he also has 20 TD upside and he's just started getting going.

Yep. No real doubt on that. But he's been around ten points standard every week he's started -- without TDs. Which isn't bad. At all.

Sony Michel (questionable, knee) is expected to play against the Bears in Week 7.

Michel's status for Sunday's game at Soldier Field was never in doubt. The rookie out of Georgia has quickly asserted himself as an every-week starter in fantasy, contributing over 100 yards from scrimmage in each of his last three contests with four touchdowns during that span. This week he finds himself on the RB1/2 borderline.

I think his whole leg got turned around.  Be shocked if something wasn't torn.

If he miraculously isn't hurt, has to avoid being benched for fumbling

My way too early to ask question of the day. Any chance they sign Gillislee if this injury is as serious as it looks? I can grab him now since he's unsigned. Can't sign Barner since he's playing now.

let's put it this way, it looked 10000x worse than guices knee injury play

That fumble was pretty clearly him letting go of the ball due to the pain.
His left knee was down before he fumbled, but I agree from his reaction.

Belichick has a history of benching RBs after fumbles so it's a bad situation for Michel owners either way.

The guy had to be carted off because his injury was so bad. Even the NFL’s rendition of the Grinch, Bill Belichick has enough of heart to just say don’t do it again and let it go. We saw how he treated Lewis despite his occasional fumbles, Bill values talent and the ability to correct those mistakes

Gillislee had four TDs to start the season last year, fumbled once, barely played again, and then was cut.  That's an example of how I remember BB treating fumbles.

While I agree with you, I do remember Stevan Ridley literally being knocked unconcious and fumbling and he never got out of BB's doghouse as a result

Dam didn't realize Sony got injured. Saw he fumbled so I thought he went into the Hoodies doghouse for that

I came in here since I had seen that he fumbled so I thought he got the Hoodie treatment only to get here and see he might be seriously injured.

MRI Monday.

Hoping for the best.

Is Barner next man up or do they sign a Gilly type?
