RB Tyler Allgeier, ATL (2 Viewers)

The more I see of him, the more impressed I am.. I am not sure what his status is with the Falcons since they drafted Robinson to be the guy, but a team like KC, he would be a top back on for sure.

He looked good last night. Wondering if I should dump one of Chase Brown, Trey Benson or Taysom Hill for him. I am light on RBs that actually play.

He just popped up on the injury report with a hip issue.

I remember seeing this happen in the game as I commented on it in the game thread. Likely something non serious… but you don’t always hear all the details about these non star players.

Just figured I’d share this info in candle you were waffling over him as a bench stash.

I’m still stashing him, but own Bijan.

Out of those running backs you listed I like Allgier and Bensom the best. Both seem plug and play to dominate touches in a good offense if something happens.

Bijan has been limited in practice for two straight days now and the Falcons have a short week, playing on TNF.

If Bijan is out, TA would be a bellcow and an instant must start. Something to monitor.

Tampa has a good run D, if you made it this far without Algier, you may not want to run him into Vita Vea
I think unless you have elite other options you gotta start Allgeier because the anticipated volume will be significant.

For what it’s worth. Robinson stated himself he’s just dinged up and “good to go” for Thursday night.

For sure. My comment only applies if Bijan doesn't play. If he does, Allgeier probably just remains a weak flex option.

Very tough sledding, trying to run on the Buccaneers. I imagine both Robinson and Allgeier will have a tough time of it.

I'm predicting a repeat performance of what we saw in the Lions/Bucs game a few weeks back.

Lmao. I was down JT, Achane and Brian Robinson Jr. I was forced to start Chase Brown and TA as my two RBs and somehow still won my week.

Once I saw TA's fantasy stats I just assumed Bijan got hurt or was ineffective, hence TA getting all the work. However BOTH RBs went totally off.

I hope it's a 50/50 split going forward but no chance that happens sadly.

Don’t really have a choice but to start him due to drafting folks like White and Javonte. Don’t expect results like this week, but he’s just better and has potential on a good offense.

Nah it was mainly Panthers run defense stuff.

We didn’t learn anything new yesterday. Whenever Allgeier has had opportunities, he produces.

It’s still Bijan’s backfield.

First 8 possessions (first 3 Q)
Bijan 13-73-2, 4 tgt 3-10
Allgeier 8-28-0, 1 tgt 1-3

4th Q 28-20 11 min left
9th possession: Cousins 1 of 2-14, Bijan 2-22, Allgeier 5-58-1

Penultimate drive Allgeier 5-19 (every play) FG

Final Drive victory formation

Having the closer role is pretty valuable, Falcons have a good team that should contend for the division title.

In neutral game script, Robinson had 65.4% of the opportunities.

Out of desparation, had to start him (was already starting Bijan).

Need 7 points from Conklin in TE premium to steal one tonight.

I think he was a common handcuff sorta key handcuff last summer and for some reason he's not this year. He seems later to me. Haven't looked it up because I keep getting him falling into my lap late
Still a free agent in my 12 team draft that went down right night.

I agree with you. Last year he was drafted and held early and often. Nothing has really changed.

Although I drafted Bijan last year and took him and held him most of the year… so maybe I’m just speaking from my personal perspective from last year to this.

Keeper/dynasty owners are probably already aware that he’ll be an UFA next year. Could get paid as a starter elsewhere next year.
He should get a chance to show what he can do and there are quite a few teams that could have openings next year like Dallas, Jacksonville, Baltimore, Washington, etc.

Very good dynasty buy if he’s owned buy a guy that doesn’t already have Bijan.

I traded a future 2nd round rookie pick to move up 10 spots to take him in a start-up recently and the folks on GroupMe heckled me mercilessly for spending future capital to take a backup RB.

And now I know who is and who isn’t looking at contract status in that league.

I’m 100% hoping one of those teams signs him (DAL always seems like a good candidate). That said there’s always some risk that he stays in ATL.

Of course there’s always value if Bijan gets dinged up - it’s a tough position. I’d say Allgeier is the most valuable backup RB in FF right now. Allen is in the convo, as is Monty, but Allgeier stepping into Bijan’s role would be league-winning upside.

What do people think of Allgeier? 10 carries is substantial and he’s always eating Bijan’s workload.

Is he worth keeping as a handcuff if you own Bijan? Does he offer any stand alone value?

Absolutely worth keeping as a handcuff. He's shown he can be a quality RB in he NFL. I'd very much argue he's a better player than the starters on at least 25% of the NFL.

I don't think he has much standalone value as you never know when the touch spikes (I'd consider 10 carries when Bijan is healthy a touch spike) will happen.

He's probably the most valuable handcuff in FF in my opinion, with the caveat that guys like Montgomery and Charbonnet aren't really handcuffs, they have weekly roles.

Really could’ve been game plan specific as they didn’t want to slam Bijan into the vita vea freight train and instead use Bijan in a slasher role against the Bucs. It worked really well as he had 100 yards receiving.

Allgeier is a good handcuff but I don’t see the explosives that he will offer like Bijan does. Not many can do what Bijan does.

I think Allgeier offers good protection as a Bijan owner as he will probably offer a 5-6 ppg downgrade while you figure out how to plug the difference

This guy is going to get paid by someone next year - probably could start for at least half the league’s teams.

Amazing stat from last night that the guy has never fumbled since he entered the league. That alone is going to make him a very attractive asset.
