It happens. Doesn't mean they don't like him, only that he's the most expendable roster spot. Just a numbers game at a devalued position. This guy went the way of Trey Sermon, who is still kicking around the league.

Hated the pick from the start. Always hope Shanahan knows best with these 3rd and 4th round RBs but doesn’t seem the case. Joe Williams, Sermon and now Price. Yuck

The only 3rd rounders Shanahan has hit on are Warner and maybe Ambry Thomas (jury still out but he's getting better). His other 3rd round picks

Trade them for multiple 5th rounders. That’s their strong round.
I was excited about Hurd. So much talent but one unlucky guy with injuries. Would have loved to see him and Deebo in the same offense.

They released Davis Price Tuesday and resigned him to the PS today.
Mason is still on the 53 Mason active roster, and even had a couple of carries vs the Eagles
