RB Zonovan Knight, ARZ (2 Viewers)

The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt writes Zonovan Knight "was banged up in OTAs and didn't really practice, working off to the side most days when the media was present."

Hard to get too up or down on Knight's prospects for this year given most teams don't really run the ball in their offseason program anyway, but it's not a great sign that Knight wasn't practicing in full considering the Jets have been linked to Dalvin Cook and spent a fifth-round pick on Israel Abanikanda. Knight had some good games last season, but probably deserves to be looked at a little skeptically as a lock to contribute during whatever time Breece Hall misses/is ramping up during early in the year.

Jets waived RB Zonovan Knight.
The Jets’ running back room became particularly crowded after they signed Dalvin Cook earlier this offseason. Knight turned in a solid rookie campaign after making the Jets as an undrafted rookie last season, totaling 400 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown on 98 touches. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Jets received some trade interest for Knight, which could indicate a claim off waivers is in the works for the second-year back.

Knight signed with Detroit's practice squad Wednesday, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Knight failed to make the Jets' 53-man roster out of training camp, and rather than stay on the practice squad behind New York's loaded backfield, Knight took the opportunity to join an organization with less running back depth. The only two running backs on Detroit's roster are Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, so Knight's likely just one injury away from being called up from the practice squad, much like he was down the stretch for the Jets as a rookie in 2022.

Not the best landing spot for him but maybe some one to keep an eye on if Montgomery goes down.

did something happen? disciplinary? I thought Carter was getting all the 1st team reps. Why the late pivot? Or is it "gamesmanship" and Knight gets the proverbial first snap is all. **** this.

Dropped him yesterday bc of Bowers injury, needed a TE. So grabbed M Myers.
Don't think Arizona will even be in the game long enough for any RB on Arizona to get more than 7-8 touches. 3 headed ****show at rb.

I never understood why Carter didn’t stick in NYJ. He’s always looked the part of a starter to me, it must be something else besides just sheer talent.

I was smart enough to grab Bam off of waivers in a few places this week because 18-51 ain't gonna do it at this level, but I don't think either guy is someone we can start (maybe?) so it wasn't as smart as I hoped.

I don't know. I have a RB/TE minimum of 1 each and then one other. I have no clue what to do. Both of them are terrible options. Bam ain't that good, either.

Honestly sounds like Gannon might make the only guy worth starting the starter - Demercado.

yeah no bueno all around. I at least thought I had some floor with Carter but not now.

Yup, I could have sworn that it was Carter getting Brissett lit up in pass pro but Schefter told me it was Bam, so I’m okay.

Zonovan "Bam" Knight rushed 11 times for 34 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals’ Week 6 loss to the Colts, adding one catch for 20 yards.

After reports had Knight playing ahead of Michael Carter before the Cardinals’ Week 6 game, fantasy managers were likely surprised to see Carter get the first backfield touch of the game. However, Knight came in on the same drive in the red zone and got a goal line carry for the touchdown. He out-snapped Carter 37-to-32 and got exactly one more touch than him on the day. Carter looks to be more of the passing-down back while Knight saw a slight preference on early downs with Emari Demercado (ankle) leaving the game early. The Cardinals have a frustrating backfield split for now, but Knight seems to have the preference for the red zone and early-down role. He is a fantasy RB3 for Week 7 against the Packers.

LOL.

Really?

Michael Carter?

This, after every fantasy site on the planet wrote about Bam Knight as a must start against Dallas.

Man cmon. I spent my 5 waiver priority on this dude.

Gah. I guess I’ll roll out Addison at flex. That’s… less than exciting.

Can't recall what took place last time when it was announced Carter would start.

Did Bam still get the majority of the touches?

This feels completely idiotic.

It's no wonder AZ can't win a damn thing. Completely scitzo.

Out goes Knight, in goes Monangai. I think anyway. This year has been something special for my zero RB strategy.

Why would you even have to think Abt that with Swift OUT!.
Good point. It's more of a question of whether I'll move Knight or Rico to the bench. I've been eyeing the Dallas matchup for two weeks. I think I'll hit the Assistant Coach forum before I get the kids our to trick or treat.

They split touches but Knight got the TD.

This coach & organization doesn't have a freakin clue.

Benson is the play here for rest of season. Not sure where Connor sits next year but suspect they will tap into the FA pool to solve RB.

I avoided all Cater and Embarg things and feel much better for it,

The best thing about this franchise is that I live in San Diego and I get to flip off multiple loudmouth AZ fans every Sunday in the bar when they suck. (Sundays - not Monday for obvious reasons).

I don't care. Unless I hear Knight is hurt I will start him and . . . blink a lot.
Thinking the same.

I think I blinked. I'm definitely having second thoughts about taking a zero.
I doubt anyone's going to pick up Carter in the league I have Bam so if the wind is blowing in a strange direction just prior to kickoff I could just drop Bam and get Carter.

Both will be useless against a SEA run D next week anyway and Benson sounds like he's back very soon.

I don't have a choice to be honest. It's either Pollard, AZ RB, or J. Mason.
