Redraft - Top 5 guys I have overdrafted but can't help it (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
It's the biggest draft weekend of the year coming up, and I know I have too many shares of these guys, but they just keep screaming value to me when I'm OTC and I can't seem to shake it.  Anybody else have some guys they haven't been able to stay away from?

This is in no particular order

1 - Chris Godwin - I think I have taken him in every single draft this offseason. I've done 24 MFL10s, about a dozen DRAFT bestballs, 8 FBG championship teams, and I took him in the 11th-13th in probably 80% of them.  7/8 FBG squads.  I just can't help it.

2 - Corey Davis - I keep snagging him in the 5-7th.  I love him as my WR2 this year.  If he flops, there are seemingly an endless supply of other WRs that can vie for the WR2 spot on my roster.  See #1 above.  I also like a few RBs in this spot so I feel like I have too many shares of Davis.

3 - OBJ - I swear half of all my drafts have come between the 9-11 spots.  OBJ is always there. Waiting to dominate scoreboards.  I feel like I'm stealing when he falls to me at like 1.11.  I saw him go 2.01 tonight.  Insane.  But still, just made a gazillion dollars recently and is a bit of a prima donna with a questionable QB.  But he is a guy I want to have in the FF playoffs, in case he goes boffo.

4 - Chubb - I drafted him more than I should.  For redraft his prosects aren't great, but he does have league winning upside.  I believe the Browns make a huge stride forward this year, despite their coach.

5 - Kelvin Benjamin - Buffalo offense is going to suck balls.  Bad. We've known this all offseason.  Nobody is going to get targets on that team like Benjamin.  He is *far* better than the credit the FF world gives him.  Again, that offense is going to suck, but KB will be a hog. I have him as one of the most undervalued players in FF this year.  That said, I have too many shares!!

On KB-

Clay is still there and will eat into those targets.

Shady is still there and will eat into those targets.

Making KB less interesting on a whole.

If Clay got 100 and Shady got 100, which is probably pushing it, doesn't that still leave room for 100+ for KB?

Corey Coleman. Kerley in the slot. Possibly Zay Jones who I'm sure they want to get involved.

I'd rather take Kenny Golladay, Keelan Cole or Kenny Stills.

I can't say I disagree - Golladay has been going a round or two later though, but Stills and Cole are creeping up there and I would consider them, too. KB *did* make my overdrafted list.  I'm not likely to take more of him.

Benjamin will get plenty of targets - for as long as he is healthy.  If you watch tape on Allen, his inaccuracy regularly put receivers in positions trying to catch the ball that made them extremely vulnerable.

You're worried about clay, Coleman, Kerley, Zay etc. But are targeting a less proven guy who has Tate, Jones, Riddick etc. challenging for targets.

I draft at 10. Oftentimes OBJ is there and I really want to take him, but if I don't pick again until 15, those big time RBs are usually gone. So I've taking Gordon or Fournette in the mocks and then either Keenan Allen or CMC @ 15. NonPPR FYI. The struggle is real!

I actually feel more comfortable with Golladay because of the continuity of Jim Bob's offense, not to mention they aren't a #### show of a team. They also are like top 5 in the league in their usage of 3 wide receiver sets.

KB is in a contract year and is going to get the ball.  I like Golladay more, but Cole is  coin flip.  Not high on Stills.

Love OBJ (I'm at 12) but my Christ I'm worried about dead arm Eli getting him killed or just generally killing his efficiency/catch rate.

I've found myself paying more than AAV when necessary for Lynch and Jamaal Williams. There are other guys I would pay more for, but luckily have not had to. Been able to get Corey Davis at or below market value a lot.

The Lynch preseason run (called back for hold maybe?  don't remember) is stuck in my brain and he is one of the most fun players to roster.  I wish he caught a few more balls.

I just remember the way he finished last season. He was on a tear. In his last 8 games he had 625/5 on the ground and 16/114 in the air. Then I read that he led all RBs last year in % of stacked boxes faced per rush, so it is even more impressive. He's pretty cheap so I figure he's worth a few bucks above his AAV. Plus, I want to be able to root for him on his last year.

Mostly auctions but these are my guys I have way too much of-

1. Jarvis Landry. I think he gets 140 targets. If that happens he is a top 15 Wr.

2. James white- Cheap and can have 80 catches.

3. Tyreek Hll- I was avoiding him but the preseason has been so good for him. I think I own him on 80% of my teams. This could really hurt with a first year starting QB.

4. Stills- Should get lots of targets

5. Cole- I have liked him all off season and now his path is easier to targets.

Honorable Mention- Davanta Adams- How does he not at least repeat last year with Rodgers back?

Agree.  GL GB.

Really like these 3 this year for different reasons.  White is cheap.  Adams has a pretty good QB in a decent passing O.  Landry is always open and demands the ball.

I have a ton of shares of Jamaal Williams

McCaffrey and I can't help it. I had enough questions about the other guys in his range to pass up the tea leaves I'm seeing from preseason and offseason behavior of the Panthers. I feel like he has a good chance to "Kareem Hunt" my team this year as my RB2.

J Williams....with plan of getting Aaron Jones.....Not sure there is a ton of upside here since they pass so much in the red zone.

Barkley.....I'm not loving it since he has missed time and the O line will probably still be bad and Manning is old but I just can't lay off.

Lynch

Sanders

Goodwin....My gut tells me while we are over drafting him Garcon ends up being the guy.

J Graham...15 TD's

Big Ben.....Am I missing something? He had 23 TD's the last 8 games and has better talent this year.

I've been taking Kelvin Benjamin like crazy, too. He's gonna get close to 10 targets a game.

Redzone is all him. If the wheels fall off McCoy, even better!

People forget the hype behind this guy a few years back. Used to be a WR2, love him as a WR4.

He's HUGE!!!

I can see that easily. The fact that Patricia kept Jim Bob is a good sign that the offense will be mostly the same, although I expect more of a commitment to the run.

Still Detroit could end up throwing the ball maybe 100 more times than Buffalo. I think Benjamin gets.more targets but Golladay could see a bunch of targets from a much better QB than Benjamin has.

I picked at 10.  Picked Gordon.  Obj was there for me with my second round pick.

Love all of those. I had Hogan as a keeper and had to trade him to another owner so I wouldn’t have an illegal lineup week 1 and got Landry out of it. Initially I was upset I lost Hogan but the more I think about it I’m really excited about Landry.

Dude, by my count in your OP, you're in 44 leagues.  Who do you NOT have a ton of shares of??
The 8 FBGs are the only non-best balls. But I could definitely make a list of guys I have avoided, either because I don't like them or because I've probably made a mistake by not getting more of them. But Williams should probably be on my OP list, too.

Zero shares:

McCoy, Evans, CMac (hope to remedy this weekend), Baldwin, Diggs, Theilen, Ertz, Kelce, Robby Anderson (may need to remedy as well).

Evans ... tons of shares ... I've drafted in the top 5 almost always, and he's been there in the early third round many times. And he's going for $35~ in auctions so I keep snagging him there. He's on half my teams so far =(

Crowder/Goodwin on a ton of teams... trusting FBG projections on these guys ...

James Conner, Ware, Gio late in almost every draft. All three have bellcow upside with an injury ahead of them.

Roeth in the 10th+ in most drafts.

Lamar Miller has an easy path to RB1 numbers, taking him in the 5th every draft.
