Redskin fever! (1 Viewer)

No excuses, that was an ### kicking. The defense can't even blame it on the offense as they were getting dominated before they could have claimed fatigue, etc. That NE offense is one for the ages.
I agree, butt whoopin' doesn't even scratch teh surface. I doubt it would have made much of a difference, but Smoot not playing, then McINtosh going out injured and then C. Rogers going out surely didn't help with trying to cover Moss, Stallworth, Welker and the rest of the Pats. Pats sensed the kill and started to use Gaffney in their sets as they knew the 'Skins were hurtin' in the CB dept.I think the announcers did a good job in pointing out, it's not just the offense that make the Patsso dominant this season, it's the defense and even the special teams that make this team legit.

Injuries didn't help, but what difference would it have made? Would they have "only" lost by 30? Brady is operating at a nearly flawless level of play, even above what we were seeing from Peyton back in 2004 as I remember it. The only guy who I can think of who compares is Montana in his prime, and even that may not be an adequate comparison. As an illustration, I love Wes Welker and would love to have him on my team, but he's nothing but a younger James Thrash. The fact that Brady can carve up a defense using Welker as a primary receiving weapon (as measured by receptions) speaks volumes about what they have going. Yeah, it's nice to have Moss and Stallworth to occupy defenses, but Brady consistently puts balls where only Welker can get them, and not only that but puts them where Welker can get them and not get killed in the middle of the field. It's amazing to watch. Smoot and Rogers weren't going to make much of a difference there.
