Reggie Brown is a decent receiver and McNabb has been lights out so far tis year.

Is anyone thinking about starting Brown or do you need to see something first?

He practiced Wed., Thurs., and Fri this week....

*edit - spelling.

I'm not sure. He is supposed to be the #1 WR, but it's his first week back and he's not guaranteed a lot of time.. I'm leanng towards keeping him on the bench this week (for either M.jones or P.Crayton) until he shows me he has regained form and his claim to the Eagles #1 spot.

I think he will be a good play this week, a tad rusty but will get points. Also Curtis will be coming back next week or following..its bye bye Jackson for a while until one of them get hurts.

Per my Yiddish dictionary, Reggie Brown is a grade-A putz (as opposed to schmuck). His own teammates can't stand him (and these were guys that, for the most part, put up with Freddie Mitchell). He does not belong on your roster, let alone in your lineup.

What does this have to do with fantasy football? There are plenty of grade A putz's out there and it all comes down to what they do on the field. I'm targeting Brown in my leagues right now. He's being undervalued since he hasn't played and I think he'll easily end up a top 20 WR that you can get for a top 40 price right now. McNabb is also probably undervalued due to his previous injury situation so I'm targeting him as well since he'll be relying heavily on passes to Westbrook, Brown and Jackson. It looks like the only loser here will be LJ Smith.

 wishful thinking from a brown/curtis owner?
Not a Brown owner..not that stupid..but a Curtis owner. When he's at 100% he will be the go to guy not a rookie where the coach doen't trust him..rules of FF most rookie Wr's are not trusted by their coaches!

Haven't decided what I am doing yet. Debating between Reg Brown and Kevin Walter. Have Walter in there now. Other options for me would be Hackett, Hagan, or Colbert...

This is a non ppr league.

Fixed. The two you want are DJax right now and Curtis when he's healthy. Brown has never been consistent enough to warrant starting on FF rosters.

Can't see starting him ahead of Wayne, Plax or Driver for this week. Lets see how he does for his first week of the season.

Agreed he has been mediocre but could do better with a healthy McNabb. He could be a serviceable WR3 or at least a bye week fill.

That said, I may HAVE to roll him out this week if B Edwards doesn't play. Not a great match up tho.

When has Brown done anything to tell you he's going to be a top 20 WR?

His career:

YR TM G RSH YD Y/R TD TRG REC YD Y/R TD

2005 PHI 16 1 5 5.0 0 79 43 571 13.3 4

2006 PHI 16 3 24 8.0 1 91 46 816 17.7 8

2007 PHI 16 5 36 7.2 0 111 61 780 12.8 4

Really? This guy is a buy low candidate? With Jackson playing the way he is? WHY? I mean, he came close in 06, but even with more targets and catches he slipped again last year. This guy will be somewhere in the top 40-60 range. And that's a ceiling, healthy DMac or not.

I don't know. Reggie Brown seemed to be consistently outperforming Kevin Curtis for the last 1/3 of last season. I had Curtis, so I know. I honestly don't care to own Curtis again. He got about a 1/4 of his total TDs and yards in one game last year, and finished weak. I think Brown is ahead of him based on last year and the impact of the sports hernia.

To back that up with stats:Reggie Brown vs. Curtis last year - weeks 8-16:

W08: Brown: 8 for 105 yards / Curtis: 3 for 76 yards

W09: Brown: 2 for 55 yards / Curtis: 5 for 51 yards

W10: Brown: 3 for 55 yards and 1 TD / Curtis: 3 for 20 yards

W11: Brown: 2 for 18 yards / Curtis: 5 for 69 yards

W12: Brown: 5 for 45 yards and 1 TD / Curtis: 5 for 71 yards

W13: Brown: 2 for 26 yards and 1 TD / Curtis: 6 for 111 yards and 1 TD

W14: Brown: 7 for 71 yards / Curtis: 3 for 26 yards

W15: Brown: 4 for 35 yards and 1 TD / Curtis: 5 for 40 yards

W16: Brown: 6 for 73 yards and 1 TD / Curtis: 6 for 78 yards and 1 TD

Having Curtis last year, I think it was the consistent TDs by Brown that had me constantly annoyed. Looking back at the stats, they both got somewhat similar catches and yards down the stretch, with Brown more likely for a TD. Brown was much more steady though since he seemed to either get good yards or a TD in each game. Add in the sports hernia for Curtis, and I'd rather have Brown. I have him now, but Curtis is on the wire in both my leagues and I just think I'd rather hold...

No matter what you think of Brown's talent/potential, it's bordering on stupid to start a WR coming off a significant hamstring problem in his first start back if you have any other viable options.

First, these things have a tendency to be "aggravated" during game-time situations.

Second, if the player is even 98% instead of 100%, and favoring the leg, his effectiveness can be quickly diminished. A WR1 becomes a diversion putting up NFL #3 numbers. Happens all the time.

Unless you're desperate, sit him. As an Eagles fan, I hope I'm wrong, but......
