Reggie Brown? (1 Viewer)

With the way McNabb is playing, I'm thinking Reggie Brown will have value when he returns. When Reggie returns, is he the #1 WR for the eagles??

Yes. Jackson will go into the slot and be used how the Pats used Welker last season. With Basket and Lewis on the outside opposite Brown

Yes sir. Only problem here in Philly is that one game he will have 140 Yards and the next game will have 40. McNabb definatley spreads the ball all around. I think Browns overall numbers will be nice by years end, just very frustrating for fantasy owners as some weeks will be boom and others bust

Will Brown be the #1 receiver?

No. Last year Brown was the #2 behind Curtis - 16 less catches, 230 less yards, 2 less receiving TD's than Curtis. Curtis was WR17 last year. Additionally, Jackson is very dynamic, and made things happen in week 1- he's way more advanced than a typical rookie, and this is a WCO, which is supposed to be extra-hard to learn. Brown is a complimentary WR, but a good one. He might be able to be the #1 target if he gets back before Curtis returns, but I doubt it.

Will Brown have value?

Yes. He'll probably have a slightly better season than last year, stats-wise. McNabb is healthy, and that's a good sign.

Didn't see the game, but it seems like Greg Lewis, with 5 catches, is a factor here in terms of how he will rotate with Baskett -- Baskett got the glamour in this game, but was Lewis the one who was targeted more? Did his catches come more or less when the game was well put away?

There is value here with the Philly wideouts -- just trying to discern which one out of Baskett and Lewis will really benefit more while Brown is out, and once he is back into the fold.

I'll reserve judgment on these guys until after they play a team with a clue. St. Louis was simply awful. They have the inside track on the No. 1 draft pick at this point. And I'm an Eagles homer.

There's not much room for more than 3 productive WR's, and those will likely be Jackson, Curtis, & Brown when all are healthy.

Baskett is a bigger target at 6'2", which is a different look from the 3 guys above, and he's got a knack for scoring on long plays - 4 career TD's: 90,89,87, & 10 yard catches. In theory, the fade should work well as well.

Avvant is another more physical guy, who technically is 2nd string, ahead of Baskett. he had a good game as well, just not quite as flashy. I think he was other WR down the field on the Baskett catch - McNabb likely had a TD to either of them.

Lewis is really just a depth WR, and is behind Jackson on the depth chart.

When Brown comes back, Greg Lewis will have little value. When Curtis comes back, he will have ZERO value. Greg Lewis stinks. I think I could have torched that Ram secondary for a 70 yard touchdown on Sunday. That was some of the worst coverage I've ever seen in a professional football game. The Eagles receivers were behind the secondary all day. Their top 2 wideouts were OUT.... and they still managed to put 3 guys over 100 yards receiving. That's ridiculous.I think the guy with the most upside for the short term is Baskett. He's a big target and a much better player than Greg Lewis. But like some others have already posted.... trying to predict which Eagles WR will have a big game from week to week is a crap shoot I don't want to be involved in. McNabb on the other hand is throwing lasers and looks great. I think him and Westbrook are the only guys you can expect consistent scoring from unfortunately.

Good post. Agreed. I dont think anyone knows.

I thought Jackson was already in the slot.Yesterday it looked like Jackson was always used there, while Baskett/Avant/Lewis shared the other two spots.
