Reggie Bush - Dynasty (1 Viewer)

Is it just me, or does Bush run out of bounds on 80% of his runs? There's simply no way he's going to be the primary RB, this year, or next, or ever.

There was a 3rd down today, he catches the ball, then just steps out of bounds. Huh? I agree with the Bucs players, the guy is a punk. He shy's away from contact, runs with no power, and constantly goes down on first contact. Bush went out of bounds at least 8 times today. Each time he could have had 1-2 more yards, and a few times they were 3rd downs. It's pretty embarrassing really.

He's a slot WR, who runs the ball 7-8 times a game. And I don't want to hear about his amazing explosiveness. That's 100% bull####. Bush has the lowest yards per carry in the league, and the lowest yards per catch. Where's the explosion? I've yet to see him make numerous people miss in the open field. He's usually trying to jump over a tackle, or a spin move that rarely works.

There is no RB in the league that runs with less power then Bush. He makes MJD look like Jim Brown.

And I'm sorry, he's not getting better. He was HORRIBLE today. Most of his production, is the coach calling his number constantly. If MJD got 25 touches a game, he'd be a top 5 RB. Again, how can you explain the lowest yard per run and catch in the league. There's simply no explosion.

In PPR, he's a good RB3. He's lucky he's in this offense. Put him in an offense where he's the primary ball carrier, and he'd be riding the pine within a matter of weeks. It's just not his size. It's his style of running. He has no forward lean. At all. It's shocking how bad he runs. Then add in the fact he RUNS to the sidelines, they seriously need to sit down with him. I've never seen a rookie, being forced the ball constantly, always going out of bounds. It's beyond explanation.

I agree with everything but this: "If MJD got 25 touches a game, he'd be a top 5 RB."If MJD got 25 touches a game he'd be dead."Where's the explosion?"He left it in the Pac-10.

i have no idea where you got the idea that bush is getting 25 touches... or that he is being forced the ball... im pretty sure payton will do whatever is best for the team to win.

bush had 8 touches today for 45 yards.

Its too soon to call Bush a dynasty bust.

Patience is necessary. Let the guy be a featured back for a few games before you throw in the towel.

With punts, he was getting close to 19 touches a game. The Saints said the target for him is around 21 touches. So yes 25 was a little off.Why exactly would they want to get 21 touches for Bush? He's got the lowest yard per carry average in the league. The lowest yards per catch average in the league. Bush is ranked 45th out of 46 RBs by footballoutsiders. Even in receiving his DPAR and DVOA aren't even in the top 20 RBs. Without question, the Saints are forcing the ball to Bush. The fact his touches are dropping off, pretty much show his ineffectiveness. There's zero chance they let Deuce walk next year. Today he had a season low 5 carries, and a season low 3 catches. I'm not saying to panic, or call him a bust. He has 60+ catches, he's not a bust. BUT... I'm fairly sure he's never going to be a starting RB in this league. He's a 3rd down RB / slot WR. He'll get solid production. But in non-PPR dynasty leagues, you need to sell him ASAP. Even in PPR leagues, with Deuce going no where, I'm not sure Bush is going to get much better then he is now. In fact his touches are dropping dramatically. (as I said, run/catch season lows today)I just wanted to see if I'm the only one who thinks he goes out of bounds way too much, especially on 3rd down. I'm not sure what he's saving his body for? Movie role this summer?I saw the whole game today, and was pretty much shocked at his performance. When he stepped out of bounds (with no one around him) on 3rd down, I was waiting for them to show the coach screaming at him. He's lucky he didn't get drafted by the Cowboys, Parcells would have benched him immediately.

I think the coaching staff saw something with J. Lewis pounding the ball the week before and decided to give the rock more to Duece this week.

R. Bush has been getting his ear chewed off for giving ground trying to make a move. Not saying that they should chew him out because it's his moves that break the big play, but they are on him. On 3rd down there was at least 4 Falcons in pursuit, he did not have a chance. However, there was one play he had one on one with the CB and he ran out of bounds. I was yelling at the TV, "That's when you make a move!" I think perhaps Bush is still feeling the effects of his ankle sprain from a couple of weeks ago, or he is hesitate because he has had some trouble holding on to the ball.

Instead of spending this offseason petitioning the NFL to allow him to wear his college number, or trying to negotiate a number one overall contract when he wasn't one, he should study some great NFL backs and learn how to hit the hole hard and stop dancing around.

Unless the Saints schedule Stanford and Oregon State next year, Bush has to learn that this isn't college and he's nothing special at this level.

I think that he was as guilty of believing the ESPN-hype as all the guys who drafted him in the first and second rounds of their fantasy drafts were.

I think with Lendale White also being average at best so far this season, that the 2005 USC offensive line didn't get enough credit last season.

I am not sure that I agree with you guys on Bush.

"nothing special at this level"

"There is no RB in the league that runs with less power then Bush."

I think he is starting to turn it around.

His last 3 games rushing

10 for 49 yds 4.9 ypc

13 for 51 yds 3.9 ypc

5 for 24 yds 4.8 ypc

These are the best averages he has had for 3 games in a row.

I hope that I am correct I traded for him today in a dynasty and think he will be a really good RB for years to come.

Not sure I'd put too much emphasis on the last game. 12 of those yards came on one play in which everyone in the stadium thought the Saints were going to pass. He had a lane big enough to drive a truck through and just ran straight ahead. My grandma could have gotten 12 yards on that play.

:goodposting: Bush was obviously spectacular but I wouldn't argue against SC's supporting cast adding about 2 yards to his YPC. After Baker, Jarrett, Smith, & Kahlil go in the first day this year, it will mean that USC had all 11 '05 offensive starters drafted...10 in the first three rounds. (Counting Lendale as one of the two backs) Four of Reggie's OL will have gone in the first two rounds.JJ Arrington had a similar benefit from running behind three Cal OL that were drafted this year. Lynch had to work a lot harder for his yards this year.
