Reggie Bush on Madden Cover? (1 Viewer)

EA officials point out that Ray Lewis and Eddie George appeared on the covers of the 2005 and 2001 versions, respectively, and had successful seasons without injury, but George made a fumble in the playoffs that ended his teams season, and Ray Lewis did not make the playoffs.

So What........The year Peyton put up 49 he got put out of the playoffs.Last year Shaun set TD record and lost in Superbowl. This year LT set TD and FFL point records and he got put out.I hardly see how making or not making the playoffs means that an individual player didn't have a productive season.

I agree I was just pointing out those guys didn't have injury ruined seasons like previously posted.

The answer is in the player himself. Its not a team curse, its a player curse. Both of those players had significant decreases in production. Its no surprise though: when you pick the player with arguable the best stats in the NFL the previous year, chances are he won't outperform it. Also, when you pick a player with ridiculous touches, it shouldn't be a surprise that he can get injured. This is no different than the dropoff in production stat from a 400-carry RB. The only weird things are the random injuries to players like QBs, ie McNabb. No answer for it, but I can assure you its not because he was on the cover of madden. Please go to the FFA if you really think that.

I'd rather a player I liked weren't on the cover of Madden.

That being said, you guys are very dense about the "Eddie George" information. So he's cursed now because one of the best defenses in NFL history forced a fumble on him in the playoffs? The guy had a career year. It's not even debatable. George was not 'cursed' because he was on Madden's cover. He's the exception to the 'trend'.
