Reggie Bush (1 Viewer)

Anyone else catch "Quite Frankly with Stephen A Smith" on ESPN yesterday? He interviewed Reggie Bush. It seemed to me that Bush kept avoiding the topic about playing for the Texans when asked... he said he was excited to go #1 where ever that might be, but always avoided Houston as a destination. Is there a trade in works that he knows about? Anyone else catch this interview? I know a bunch of people are speculating a trade, but this is the first sign I saw actually coming from Bush himself...

What makes you think that Hou or any team involved would tell Bush about their trade plans?

I'm still not buying it. I highly doubt that the teams would want this to get out to a player and agent who would likely run their mouths about it to other interested teams. I could be wrong though.

I don't know that I would see much to read into it. I could see it being as or more likely that his goal was to come across as willing to play for anyone, including teams who may think about trading up for him, as it having anything to do with the Texans in particular.

This was how read it also. Thought he did a good job saying that he just wants to play and he wants to be the #1 pick. What he did evade was the question on the timing of his family's move out of their home and if it was a planned move.

:goodposting: nothing to see here.

If a team were seriously interested in trading up for Bush and had a deal in principle for the 1.1, I can definitely see the team contacting Bush's Agent and seeing what it would take to get the kid under contract in a reasonalbe amount of time.

Agree....if the Jets, Denver, whoever wants to trade up, or are thinking about it....he doesn't want to sit there and say he is really excited about going to Houston.......and after all, are there that many players, who are really excited to go to Houston???

Maybe he is secretly pulling an "Elway" or a "Manning" and not talking to Houston in hopes he does force a trade. He did mention he has not spoken to the Texans about a contract yet.... makes sense about his reactions to the Texans and the lack of talks between the 2 parties. As a Houston-homer, I hope he does come here, but I have yet to see ANY indication this is where he will be.... usually, a high profile pick would be flooding the local media already. But to date, we only see Vince Young stories in Houston. Something just does not smell right...

One correction there... he has talked to Houston about a contract. The sequence of events was there were reports he was asking for some huge bonus... then Bush refuted the rumor and said he and the Texans had not even talked contracts. After that, Bush and the Texans have begun negotiations (as they have with Mario Williams too apparently).
