I posted this is the NBA thread but it got passed over for some trade talks but this is a serious question.
Could the Wiz finish above .500 in the D-League with the current roster?Of course adding Wall and Nene would be a huge boost but the current roster they are trotting out now without those 2.
I really only see Seraphin as someone besides Wall you could work with for a future roster to eventually become competitive at some point
I think that's because you don't realize how ####ty the D-League is. The Wizards would finish above .900 in the D-League, even without Wall or Nene.
It was a tad bit of hyperbole inserted by me for sure but make no mistake that the Wiz are a dreadful team(even with Wall and Nene).Looks like the 1st win could come soon though with 5 of the next 6 at home and the Pacers,Jazz and Bobcats among them.If they somehow manage to lose all of those the next win might be until the next calendar year.
Sad thing though is that Grunfeld is so bad at drafting it might not matter
Thing is, he's not. His picks the last few years run the gamut from defensible (Vesely, probably the worst pick of his tenure) to great (Blatche, Seraphin). Drafting isn't the problem. It's everything after the drafting- trades, free agent signings, player development ... they're terrible at all of that stuff.
Vesely and Oleksiy Pecherov are easily the worst of the bunch from his 1st rounders without any doubt and I also agree that certain players were botched in growing them into viable/reliable players for the Zards.Blatche,McGee and Young all seemed to be decent players that might work but failed terribly one way or another.Grunfeld also has a hand in picking the coach who helps develop these guys.Either way my feeling is Grunfeld needs to go and should already be gone.
Back on topic though,0-9 after another close loss to the Pacers. They had no answer for West or Hibbert and got dominated down low all night.Zards have no finishers and are pretty terrible at defending and this is not mentioning the fact that they can't shoot either or run any form of offense on a consistent basis.
On to the Hawks and 0-10 is looking like a very real possibility
