RETURNING THE RAIDERS TO GLORY (1 Viewer)

OK, there was no great FB or HB in the 1st round of the draft, but there was a great young CB, speed 93, 74 ranked overall, signed to a $11m/7 year contract. In time he'll take over the #3 CB spot and could even be the new #1 when CHARLES WOODSON retires.

95-ranked SS TANK WILLIAMS (signed to $32m/7 year deal). A real nice long-term replacement for DERRICK GIBSON, WILLIAMS is faster and has better coverage skills.

84-ranked RB FRED TAYLOR, signed to a $35m/7 year deal. Fred's approaching the end, but he'll still anchor our running game for the next couple of years.

99-ranked OLB DERRICK BROOKS, signed to a $40m/7 year deal. A luxury signing, but we have some excess cap-room and can afford him, he'll be a big boost to the D.

88-ranked OT MARK TAUSCHER, signed to a $28m/7 year deal. Possible future at OT position when LINCOLN KENNEDY retires.

75-ranked QB RALPH WHITFIELD signed to a $4m/1 year deal. Thought about drafting this guy a few years back instead of RANDALL MAGNUM, thank heavens we didn't. Now this speedy scrambler is fit only to be a backup for us.

Because the core of our team is young guys signed to cheap long-term deals they signed when drafted (such as RANDALL MAGNUM for example) we can afford to splurge a bit on veteran FAs like DERRICK BROOKS. We're still building through the draft, it's just that we can add a marquee big name FA every year if they're available to spice up our lineup.

CUT:Cedric ZeiglerEugene McGwireAnthony SindleInconsequential backups who are axed to make way for the new guard.

RE-NEGOTIATED:DERRICK GIBSON is signed to a single year, $3.6m, contract. In essence, we're buying him out of his long-term deal because TANK WILLIAMS is in town.

Join me soon for YEAR SIX of the RAIDERS as RANDALL MAGNUM seeks to continue to rewrite the recordbooks and the Raiders gun for their 3rd SUPER BOWL title in four years!

when will the saga continue??? i ran across these threads and became hooked. i need a fix...
The RAIDERS will continue with YEAR SIX of the dynasty on Monday afternoon! Thanks for your interest, appreciate it!

sweet. my titans are in salary cap hell in year 3...stupid mcnair was a hold out...grrrranyway, the journey has been fun and I know it will continue to be. youve been at this for the better part of a year. keep it up dude   if you need a big fat runstuffing DT,snowmonkey would OWN

if you need a big fat runstuffing DT,snowmonkey would OWN
We're already stacked at that position with Rod Coleman and Love Muscle, but at DE Kenyon Coleman really needs to be replaced, so the next stud DE could be snowmonkey!

i realize now as I look back that I forgot about love muscle...i was also a pretty good tackle in a former life...right or left, no matter. but we need to keep the franchise qb healthy.

Well, there you go. RT Lincoln Kennedy will be retiring soon, but those are big shoes to fill!

So snowmonkey cements his place as the next great OT to be drafted - if anyone else wants to be a player on the RAIDERS DYNASTY, stake your claim!

These Madden threads lost all credibility (imo) when I found out about the 7 year deals to guys who are going to retire in a couple years. I mean I know it happens in real life, but it doesn't get abused as bad in the NFL as it does by Portis in Madden (does it?).
Portis is just the Dan Snyder of the Madden world.Only Dan Snyder and Portis_26 would be crazy enough to give guys like Deion Sanders and Mark Brunell rediculous contracts.

OK, YEAR SIX has been simmed! And the RAIDERS have stormed to a 13-3 record behind superb years for RANDALL MAGNUM, FRED TAYLOR, TEYO JOHNSON, JERRY PORTER and DARRELL JACKSON!BUT - the 13-3 mark is only good enough for SECOND in the division behind the 13-3 BRONCOS! The RAIDERS will have to go on the road as a WILDCARD!

To anyone who is interested, I suggest staking your claim. It is a great honor to be part of the dynasty.

The first playoff game will be the wildcard 13-3 RAIDERS at the division champion 8-8 STEELERS!The wildcard RAIDERS having to go on the ROAD if they want to return to the SUPER BOWL! What a freak of playoff scheduling that a 13-3 team will have to go the home of an 8-8 one!

I thought Fullback Fro was going to get the nod at Fullback. What's the deal yo?
Well, to introduce the Fullback Fro figure onto the Raiders, we have to draft him (we rename drafted players with their FFA nomenclature). But there hasn't been a can't-miss FB prospect to take in the draft the last couple years. Remember when the 49ers took WILLIAM FLOYD in the 1st round and he started on their Super Bowl team? That's the kind of impact guy we want. A 1st-round ranked rookie to become Fullback Fro. But there sadly hasn't been one. I mean, these guys come along only once every few years. Thus incumbent B.J. ASKEW has held onto the job, and even went to the Pro Bowl this year.

dang it....so much anticipation building up for this season and only one season simmed w/o the playoffs....portis must have gotten himself a girlfriend...my arrival cant be that far off now...I can feel it

Ok Ok - its just been six years now. But I will wait if waiting means greatness. :fro: knows greatness

OK, time to get this show back on the road! It's the 13-3 RAIDERS at the 8-8 STEELERS in YEAR SIX of the RAIDERS DYNASTY!

A reminder of the Raiders starters:STARTING LINEUP for RAIDERS:QB RANDALL MAGNUM (97)HB FRED TAYLOR (84)FB B.J. ASKEW is adequate at FB, but we could with a superstar there, while DE KENYON COLEMAN is only average. Young starters FS SILVERBACK SURFER and DE MAD COW are a little green, but solid starters.
